I have no hesitation in recommending Heron House. It’s a lovely spacious house which was perfect for us. We cooked a few nights as we had a baby with us & the kitchen was well equipped & spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds too. The location is great as it’s only a few minutes walk into the heart of Wells-Next-The-Sea which is very quaint with a lovely harbour. The beach is fabulous & well worth the walk.

We rented the house in the last week of August. Its in a great central location but still quiet enough to sleep with your windows open. It is very spacious and well equipped for a family of 4 plus 2 guests. Highly recommended.

Great spacious family house with lovely garden and plenty of parking however entry to the drive can be challenging from the narrow lane due to amount of parked vehicles both sides. If I was being picky I would say it could benefit from some baking/pitza trays etc. Also some bins upstairs and shaving mirrors on bathroom window sills as the mirrors are not useable for wet shaving although they did have electric shaver points near them. We did find the toilet was too near the shower and kept hitting head on glass unless sat on toilet seat sideways . We wanted to dry beach towels on rotary dryer but couldn’t find a stake or anywhere in garden to fix it. Think owner just needs to look at these minor points. DO NOT let this put you off booking this house though as these are only our niggles and they haven’t put us off. We would definitely book again as it’s a great house with a wonderful garden in a lovely sough after village that’s great for family holidays.

The house is tucked away in the centre of Wells Next the Sea, It is spacious, very well appointed and crucially has ample private parking for up to 5/6 vehicles, which in Wells is almost unheard of! The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The living areas downstairs are superb, with the crown jewel being the very large open plan kitchen/dining area, ideal for family entertainment and meals. There are two other good sized reception rooms looking out onto the large established garden which we used for BBQ's and games. (Note we took our own electric BBQ as there isn't one provided). Being so centrally located it is fantastic for short walks to the shops and pubs with the Globe PH and the Crown hotel being only 2 minutes walk away. Extra things like the Bose wave system in the kitchen and the books and DVD library make this a real home from home. We had a lovely week with our family and would hire it again without hesitation.

Good quality house with good facilities in an excellent location. A barbecue would be a nice addition. Slight drain smell in the kitchen. Poor double mattress in one of the bedrooms. Great parking for cars a real plus point in wells. Overall a good holiday home.

Thank you Norfolk Hideaways. We booked Heron House for our Christmas in Wells and were fairly confident from the website and photographs that it would be perfect for our family get together. We were not disappointed. Heron House was perfect, great location and we really enjoyed our last minute food shopping in Staithe Street and the local pubs all very convenient, and of course parking was such a bonus. We had glorious weather for four days which really made our Christmas holiday especially walking to the new hide at Holkham with excellent facilities and great value food. We have stayed in Wells many times and it is our happy place and I would definitely recommend Heron House for a lovely family holiday, may come back next summer! Only one negative and a little unfortunate, the kitchen is superb but I think warrants a slightly larger table (the extra leaf had been locked in a cupboard) and maybe a couple of stools for the island. We had family from Cromer and Norwich for Boxing Day lunch and had to use the garden table to seat everyone, but this is obviously easy to resolve. Nothing else, it was perfect.

The only thing I can complain about was the weather, everything else was great, the location suited us, the house was clean well equipped and comfortable

A superb house in a great location, very peaceful and relaxing, yet not too far from the centre of town. Improvements needed - a smart T.V. and champagne flutes would have been nice.
