The property was absolutely perfect. It was clean and peaceful. Our host, Anita, was very responsive. The location is close to the highway and wasn't far from the activities that we had planned. Our group of 6 will definitely like to return.

Pros: the friendly owner contacted us prior to our arrival via phone call to welcome us and ask about any special wants or needs we might have. Property is on a long private lane, set back from the road, with a very well-stocked fish pond. Interior has been beautifully renovated, and there is great lighting and plenty of storage space throughout thanks to dressers and armoires, as well as lots of wall hooks, despite the overall minimal square footage. Treats for kids and adults were provided and happily consumed! Fresh paint and extreme cleanliness throughout were much appreciated by all of us. Tiny galley kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pots, and pans, and is well-lit; and appliances all work well. Appreciated the functional apartment-sized gas stove and dishwasher. Fridge is full-sized. Granite countertops throughout. Living space is long and narrow, doable for a couple of nights for a family of five like ours. Wi-fi connection is fast. We played some of the board games provided. Bedrooms and beds were ideal for us; king-size bed upstairs for my husband and I, along with a futon and larger bed for my two sons in the adjacent bedroom. Full bath with shower (no bathtub) upstairs was functional and pretty. My daughter took the downstairs bedroom/sitting area with queen bed and used the half-bath downstairs. Plenty of extra towels and blankets. Blinds and curtains everywhere to help block light and provide privacy. AC worked well once we adjusted vents to cool things better upstairs. Ceiling fans also helped with that. Cons: interior is smaller than it looks in the photos, as is typical, but again - it was fine for us for a few days, and well worth what we paid. Though the property is beautifully maintained and landscaped, neighbors are close by and the house is not as isolated as we had imagined. Lots of road noise was the backdrop for our fishing experience, though we certainly caught plenty of fish. Overall, it was a pleasure to discover this property to be so cozy, charming, clean, and welcoming. The owner obviously considered renters' every possible need and met those needs with flying colors! We would certainly return.

We had a great time relaxing here for a girls weekend. Perfect setting and location; lots of stories and laughter around the fire pit! The host lives on site and was very kind and easy to communicate with and the guesthouse was very cute, clean and comfortable.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The location is so convenient but the property was beautiful. Everything detail in the cottage is clean, updated and inviting. The rooms were spacious and the beds were so comfortable! No details were overlooked. We are from the area and it was so nice staying in town but enjoy some open space and relaxation!

We had an absolute amazing stay here. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing.! Super clean super cute we were all very happy! We travel to St Louis a few times a year and this will definitely be our go to! The host was very nice we enjoyed the little extras in the fridge thank you so much!

One of the best VRBO experiences. This very clean house is in a quiet location minutes from the interstate. It was perfect for a little getaway. I look forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy the outside patio.

Enjoyed our visit in this St. Charles cottage. We had everything we needed, and it was clean and beautiful! Anita was very helpful and she had so many nice extra touches. We would definitely stay here again.

I just got back from a fabulous weekend with my grown children. This is one of the best VRBO's I have ever stayed in. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. There was a lot of unexpected "extras" including a Charcuterie platter in the fridge. They set up the fire pit and chairs for us. The house was clean and comfy. Having the pond there was neat! We wouldn't have had the same experience had we stayed in a hotel. I'm hoping to go back, I would definitely want to stay there again! My one and only critique about this place is there is a smoke alarm above the stove and yes, I set it off frying bacon :) (open a window and you'll be fine) -Thanks for the memories with my kids your place was beautiful.

Everything we wanted was there

We rented the cottage for our annual girl's weekend. There were six of us and accommodations were perfect. The host, Anita, was very gracious and responded immediately to any questions we might had. We would definitely recommend.

Anita’s cozy cottage was perfect! Comfortable beds, plush towels, spotlessly clean, every amenity you could think of possibly needing and more (even a fancy charcuterie board!) really made our stay special. Being a hidden gem tucked away in the woods gives it a private outdoorsy setting on the outside but the inside is elegant and modern, lavishly comfortable. Perfect location. 10/10 would recommend!

Anita is the most fantastic host. The property was in excellent condition. Plenty of towels and supplies on hand for our group of 5. We brought kayaks for the pond and went fishing. Tons of fish and plenty of good times were had by all.

I really enjoyed they property, very clean an neat, host was amazing she made her self available I really appreciate the fact she offers her place for events but not big enough inside but outside events is very possible

We needed a place that our family could stay while our kids were swimming at the Rec-Plex. This location was perfect, and it was a great place to relax while the kids were not swimming. It was also close to many different attractions and restaurants that our family loved.

What a wonderfully appointed, conveniently located home. Hosts were responsive and check in process very efficient. Clean and accommodating!

Our stay in this cozy little cottage was more than we anticipated! It was tucked back away from traffic, it was quiet and zero disturbances. Anita, the host, was very easy to get a hold of and was quite responsive when we had questions. The home was updated, clean and had every little amenity you could imagine. There is no doubt that we will rent again when we come back to the St Louis area!

We loved staying at this little cottage over the Christmas holiday. Anita was so very accommodating with us...had about 20 family member come over for a Christmas dinner and she was on standby for anything we might have needed. The cottage is perfect...location, layout, decor, amenities, etc. We hope to snag this rental the next time we’re in town!

A hidden gem!!!

My mom and I stayed at this property for a weekend getaway to check out the Christmas Traditions in the downtown area and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. The location is nice and private and the owner who lives in another house on the property was so wonderful! The place is immaculate - decorated cute, plenty of space for a group and they’ve got everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was so nice - perfect pressure...my mom said it’s the best she’s used since her own! Very quiet area, which was nice for relaxing after a long day out and about. The kitchen had a coffeemaker and the host left us some snacks, such a nice touch! Lots of natural light in the cottage, which I loved! This place would be amazing in the summer and fall too, to sit outside with coffee or wine and relax, as it has a little water area and yard space with chairs. It’s also very convenient and quick to the interstate....super close so easy on and off but you don’t hear the traffic noise. This beats a hotel any day. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you Anita for letting us stay at your wonderful cottage!

This was a very nice and quiet property. Everything was as expected and we had an enjoyable stay. Would stay here again next time we're visiting family in the area.

Anita's carriage house was such a lovely retreat for the weekend. The house was immaculate and every attention to detail was made so we could have a stress free getaway. The property is beautiful and scenic but also very convenient to hit the Katy trail or downtown St. Charles for shopping. She has a smart television so we could watch all our shows and a very comfortable sofa to cozy up on. The master bedroom has a super comfortable king size bed and window coverings so you can sleep in. Anita was as available as we needed and even went above and beyond when we needed some medicine. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away and retreat from their busy lives!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage and our weekend in St. Charles. This was the perfect place to stay! The owner was very friendly and even provided us with extra snacks for our enjoyment. We would definitely book again if we are in the area!
