This is a beautiful property which is well equipped and caters for all. The hosts are lovely and very approachable with excellent communication. Would definitely return and would highly recommend.

Not hard to find, ample parking and a great property in the best part of the country. Loads of communal space to enjoy with your friends as well as walks around the area. Friendly and helpful owners who aren’t scared to accommodate “stag” parties such as ours. Many thanks, we’ll be back again!

Booked this beautiful property to celebrate my Mam's 60th birthday. Honestly, it could not have been more perfect! Clean, tidy and comfy with lovely communal spaces for us to enjoy meals and some celebrations together. The bedrooms were wonderful and again, very comfortable. Debbie and Max were fantastic hosts and very helpful and responsive prior to our visit, they gave us lots of information about the local area and places to eat, visit etc. The added extra of the hot tub is well worth it! We made full use of this facility and it really turned our weekend away into a proper holiday. Really hope to stay in this property again in the future. Oh, and very dog friendly too which is always a plus! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Everything about our stay was perfect. Communication was spot on from the owners and they made us feel very welcome. Although they live on site we didn't feel their presence at all. Everything was clear, comfortable and relaxed. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Three generations plus 2 dogs enjoyed a short break to celebrate a 60th Wedding Anniversary. The properties were absolutely fantastic for our group of 10. Plenty of room for teenagers and adults plus huge garden for dogs (and teenagers)

Everything we could need was at hand. Owners very friendly and helpful. The scenery was amazing! Would definitely recommend this place and would love to book again.

This accomodation has tick all the boxes. Everything you needed are being provided except for food, of course. Location is very quiet but with huge backyard and beautiful view. Main attraction like Smardale viaduct is just 30-40 minutes walk. You can ask the hosts for the hot tub if you need to hire one. It is also a dog friendly accommodation which is a bonus. There are so many good things about this accomodation which is why I highly recommended it. Will definitely coming back.

What a hidden gem! Debbie and Max were fantastic, so kind and friendly ! The cottages were beautiful with the most amazing views !! The website does not do it justice ! This is the perfect stay for a family gathering. The perfect place to shut of and enjoy family time. Max and Debbie were on hand for any needs and are such a friendly couple! We will most defiantly be booking again. The hot tub is a added extra but well worth it ! There is not anything that hasn’t been thought off! Thank you !!

The cottages were perfectly equipped for big groups, were really clean and we felt completely at home. With endless walks from the front door, a hot tub and plenty of kit for games in the garden we didn't need to get in the car once for our whole stay. Will be going back!

We have just got back from a 3 night stay. We were 8 adults, 4 kids, 2 dogs. The property was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We've all had the best time. Debbie and Max were lovely.

We stayed at Ashley Bank Cottages for a week, there were 12 adults and 1 child with 4 dogs. Debbie and Max were really welcoming on arrival, the accommodation was spotless and all of the amenities you would need for a large group were there. The kitchen was well stocked with everything, there were tea, coffee and sugar and also toilet rolls in the bathrooms on arrival. Plenty of room for a family of 13. The walks and views are breathtaking and Kirkby Stephen had a coop and a few shops for goods and takeout. It was Easter and Debbie and Max put Cadbury cream eggs in a pot for us which was a lovely touch. We used the BBQ which is large and gas, the grounds are lovely with far reaching views, very dog and child friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend Ashley cottages and would stay again when up in the Lakes …

We stayed this weekend for my friends 50th birthday. Its was superb. We could not find fault with a single thing. Stunning property, superb views, attention to detail was 5 star. Thank you for a wonderful weekend....see you again soon ❤

We had a good time at Ashley Bank, the rooms were well configured for our group and the facilities were good (once we’d got the commercial oven going!) We were disappointed the hot tub was out of action, recent reviews had said how lovely it was (and it looked it, would’ve been perfect on the snowy weekend we were there). It’s a shame we hadn’t been pre-warned of it’s absence. However, we didn’t let it spoil a lovely family weekend.

My friends and I had a lovely time enjoying the beautiful countryside and each others company. There are plenty of hikes about to keep you busy, and if the weather is inclement there is plenty of space to relax together inside or in the hot tub house. We had a lovely stay, and would highly recommend. Debbie and Max were both very welcoming and helpful & the cottage had everything we required and more.

11 family members spanning 4 generations of spent a week here Oct 21. Great place to just switch off and break from reality for a while. easy to find and great place to go wandering Lots of space for for us all to just relax, the hot tub was a hit and welcoming as we picked the week with storm force winds and torrential rain. lol the kids were fascinated by the automatic lawnmower that came out in the evening ! the only point I would raise is I think the fridge / freezer is a bit small if you've got a full house for a week, but we managed. Debbie and Max are very welcoming and helpful would definitely visit again

We spent 4 lovely days at Ashley Bank and the little cottage. Plenty of room for 13 of us. The garden was a huge hit with the children and the views to the fields were so pretty. Struggled a bit with the gas oven but none of us are used to gas! One very point is that we thought the tea towels were too thick for drying the dishes!! Loved the speaker so that we could play our Ashley Bank playlist. Max and Debbie were very welcoming.

Superb cottage with brilliant grounds for the children to run around and burn off lots of energy. Well equipped, and great location for walks. Highly recommend

Wow!!! Just wow. Don’t know where to start... We (6 adults, 3 children and a ) stayed at this gorgeous self contained cottage for a family get together to celebrate our mother’s 60th . & what a perfect 4 days it turned out to be. The views are incredible, the venue is amazing, very clean & lovely rustic decor. The Hot Tub was a great bonus and situated in a lovely little hot tub cabin with twinkly lights. Ticked all the boxes for us. Grounds are spectacular & great location for nice country walks. The bars/restaurants in the nearby village of Ravenstonedale were spot on (especially the Black Swan) and within walking distance. The perfect little getaway!!! Highly recommend and we all can’t wait to return. The owners Debbie & Max are extremely lovely & accommodating and have everything off to perfection..
