unfortunately, we were 2 couples so the 2nd couple had to stay in the "annex". contrary to the listing, the annex is not attached to the apartment. it is in the same building but on a different level, and is much like a hostel room with a private bathroom and a window...thats it. the street noise with cars and sirens are heard til 2am. and no wifi.the extra charge for the annex is much too much $$$. the main apartment has 1 bedroom and a 2nd single bed in a private area on the way up to the terrace. the terrace does not have an umbrella so at times it is hard to find shade but regardless it is very private and gorgeous. so if you are just 3 people this is a fantastic find. great location and the price cant be beat. the host, igea is 6 on 5. could not ask for anyone more caring and responsive. ps. put in "la mura" for exact location of apartment as it is right above, foro italico umberto 1 was too vague for our airport shuttle. also, an extra set of keys would be nice. 1 set for the main apartment is not enough. also, to turn on the hot water for the shower you had to turn on the hot water valve on the bidet to activate the hot water tank. peculiar but fine once you know.

This place has it all—very comfortable with all amenities, a great roof garden where you can eat or just relax while gazing out at the harbor, a responsive and energetic host, and a superb location in the arty Khalsa district. We hope to stay there again.

Everything was great. Our flight was delayed and we came very late, Igea waited for us and gave a very detailed explanations on the property. The terrace is so beautiful, I did not want to leave. Very close walk to the main street in the old city. Highly recommend!

We have an excellent stay at this beautiful property. Our host offered us a brief introductory tour of the apartment upon our arrival, and during the week was very responsive to questions. It was wonderful to be in the city, but not stuck in the city center with constant noise. We would love to return!

We really enjoyed staying at this location. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee on the rooftop terrace. It was in a good location so they we were close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see in Palermo, but on the outskirts of the city to get away from everything. My partner and I work from home and booked Igea's flat for a month. The location was ideal, very central and well located to get to the main streets in the city centre, the train station and all the sights Palermo has to offer. We loved Igea's style and how the apartment is decorated. The view of the ocean from the apartment is very cool to be able to see all the gigantic ships sail by. Igea was a great host whenever we had a problem she was very reactive. We unfortunately had a gas leak happen when we were there and Igea came very quickly with repair men and she also swiftly changed the gas cooker for us. When the electricity went out due the air con being on as well as doing the washing, Igea was immediate in her support for me to figure out how to get the electricity back on! It was a great experience living in such an old city and these issues are common. The most important was that whatever happened, we felt safe that the issue would be dealt with quickly. The apartment is great for people staying for a week to 2 weeks on vacation, the kitchen is not the most equipped if you plan to eat at home most of the time like we did since we were working and not vacationing. But otherwise we would highly recommend this property for an amazing holiday! Thank you Igea!

Great location and full of character- loved the terrace and the air conditioning was very much appreciated. Five star hosta - Igea was very helpful and the communication was excellent - we were collected at the airport by Flavio which made the journey super easy.

It was my first trip to Sicily and inevitably not everything as you imagine but the apartment was. It is built in to the outer defensive wall of Palermo, facing the sea and with a spacious rooftop terrace to enjoy a glass of wine at night. The place is minutes away from restaurants and sights. The host was very communicative and helpful throughout the stay.

Wir hatten einige wunderbare Tage in Palermo auch Dank dieser wunderbaren Wohnung. Direkt in der alten Stadtmauer gelegen macht sie schon optisch einiges her. Sie ist mit viel Liebe zu Detail eingerichtet und die Dachterasse mit dem phantastischen Ausblick ist ein Traum. Der Check In Vorgang lief problemlos, wir hatten uns mit Igea per Whatsapp abgestimmt. Sie hat uns alles Notwendige erklärt und wäre sicher auch im Notfall für uns da gewesen, was aber nicht notwendig war. Die Lage der Wohnung ist perfekt, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen, einer der besten Panini Läden Palermos um die Ecke, super Pizzeria und ein großer Carrefour Supermarkt in der Nähe. Also alles was man für einen perfekten Städteurlaub braucht. Vielen Dank an Igea dass sie uns diesen Ermöglicht hat.

This cozy apartment is overlooking a large park and the harbor. The historic building is part of a large wall that contained barracks that was once part of Palermo’s defenses. You’ll be living in a piece of Palermo history! And, as a bonus, there’s a large gardened rooftop terrace that we enjoyed many morning coffees on. The location could not be better for a visitor as historic Palermo starts directly behind this structure. The main street, the pedestrian only Via Vittorio Emanuele is only seconds away and will be your principal landmark on your journeys through the old town. All the sites, markets, restaurants, and churches of the old town are within an easy walk. The apartment is also located on or near bus routes, and is only a 10 minute walk from the central train station should you wish to visit other towns along the coast such as Cefalu. Prices for the train were very reasonable and the process was quite easy. The property owner, Igea, was there upon our arrival and made us feel right as home. She is a lovely person and is very quick to respond should you have a question or concern. My only caution is that regardless of where you stay during your visit to Palermo, it’s worth noting that this is a busy, vibrant city that operates around the clock … you might want to travel with some earplugs just in case. Enjoy!

Very nice apartment in an old building located in the historic center. Within walking distance to restaurants and transportation to tourist attractions. Enjoyed the rooftop patio overlooking the park and waterfront especially at the beginning and ending of the day.

Igea was waiting for us on arrival and was most welcoming. She quickly provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. We fell in love with the beautiful roof terrace. The apartment was clean and well equipped. We appreciated the fresh pastries and fruit that Igea had thoughtfully provided. Four days was not long enough for a stay in Palermo.

Igea was a wonderful hostess. She and her husband greeted us at their lovely apartment when we arrived. She was very thorough telling us about where everything was and how it worked. They have a lovely rooftop garden attached to their apartment. It overlooks the sea across the street. It was a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. She arranged for someone to come pick us up at 4am when we had a flight to catch. This was extremely helpful for us. The apartment was very charming. It was a lovely place to stay!

Charming One Bedroom Apt plus Separate Studio that worked perfectly for our needs. Charming and eclectic furnishing with all needed conveniences. The host was easily available for contact. Close to restaurants, interesting sites, and a modern supermarket.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans le logement d'Igea avantageusement taillé dans le mur médiéval qui ceinture Palerme et très bien situé pour visiter la ville. Nous avons été séduit également par les petites attentions de notre hôtesse comme le petit déjeuner... Un seul bémol : fenêtres ouvertes le salon est un peu bruyant en raison de la proximité du boulevard Foro Italico. Si les fenêtres sont fermées cet inconvénient disparait.

Since we all cook we found the kitchen very well equipped with enough essentials and spices to get us started. She greeted us with a bowl of fruit and pastries. Even toilet paper was readily available, something we later had to purchase at our other rentals. The top floor patio is a garden retreat, obviously loved and well cared for, with an ocean view. WiFi was consistently good except in the annex. Thick ancient walls made this area problematic. The keys took a bit of a learning curve, but proved easy once we got the hang. I used the WhatsApp for communicating with the owner, but failed her while on the go since we were out of WiFi range. That was our mistake. We were three women wanting our own space. The main bedroom and the annex are perfect. The third bed is actually a very comfortable open out coach in the living room since the upstairs room, while a fun sort of space with a bath, has a board with a thick cotton pad that might be okay for a less discriminating taste, but was certainly not a comprable bed to the others in the house. That could easily be changed if this was indeed the third bedroom. We loved our stay and give the apartment and the owner high marks for creating a beautiful, welcoming and easy to use space. Let me start by saying I am a vrbo owner so I know what it takes to run a rental. Igea is a wonderful host! I arrived late in the night and she stayed to welcome me and show me around. She had coffee and cookies and fresh fruit milk water and juice for us. Very few owners do this. She took the time to print 20 pages of attractions and activities in the city for us. The house is amazing!!!! The views from the roof top terrace of the ocean are unobstructed. The house is impeccably clean and comfortable. Perfect size for our stay. Excellent restaurants right next door for any meal or gelato. The home is walking distance to many things and beach access right across the street. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will stay again when I come back. Thank you Igea for a wonderful stay!

l'appartamento è molto bello e dotato di molti confort. La proprietaria Igea è molto gentile e disponibile. Nelle vicinanze ci sono bar e ristoranti molto carini. il quartiere è molto bello e vicinissimo al centro. La strada davanti è un po' rumorosa sopratutto dalla dependance (mentre non si sente nulla dalla camera dell'appartamento principale). Il terrazzo è molto bello. La pulizia della casa è ottima.

A due passi da Palazzo Abetellis, lo Spasimo e l'Oratorio dei Bianchi, Parcheggio disponibile nella attigua piazza Kalsa. Proprietari accoglienti e gentilissimi.

Tout est prévu pour le bien-être des résidents. Non seulement les prestations sont très bonnes, la maison décorée avec goût, mais Igéa a des attentions qui rendent le séjour encore plus agréable. Une mention spéciale pour la grande terrasse fleurie avec vue sur la mer, où il est très agréable de prendre le petit déjeuner ou un verre le soir. La localisation de la maison allie la proximité du centre historique à la vue dégagée sur le grand jardin en bord de mer et au spectacle des bateaux entrant au port. c'est un endroit que nous avons quitté à regret et où nous aurons plaisir à revenir.

The apartment in Palermo was great. It had a great kitchen and living room with a view of the water. The deck was perfect with lots of plants and a great view. The location was perfect for walking around Palermo. The apartment was also very quiet due to the thick walls.

The apartment is lovely, much nicer than in the photographs. The roof terrace is just wonderful, we spent a lot of time there watching the ships go in and out after walking round Palermo. Igea fetched us from the station in a car and was most helpful. We walked back to get the bus out, it takes about 20 minutes. There are restaurants and small shops very near by, the centre of the old town is easily reached on foot, and even though it's near a main road it's quiet at night with all the shutters closed. We would have liked to have stayed longer.
