This is a great property in lower Rockridge and a very good value. We stayed over a long weekend during a family event nearby. Jeri is a terrific host with excellent communication. She was on site if needed, but nothing was needed. She was also flexible and helpful with things like extra bedding. Some things to know: This is a spacious basement apartment with a large living/dining room, small but full bathroom, large kitchen and separate bedroom. There's a small built-in desk in the living room and plenty of power. If there is any negative, it is that this is in a very nicely finished basement. The ceiling is not quite full height and there is a slightly musty smell. That said, it is very clean and nicely furnished. It is warm, quiet and safe. The water pressure in the shower could be better, but it's perfectly adequate. I note these negatives just so customers are aware up front. On the flip side, it's very reasonably priced, cute, and convenient. I would absolutely stay here again. Jeri is one of the best and nicest hosts I've encountered.

This proved to be the perfect place for me to stay in Oakland while I was visiting my daughter who lives in the area. I was traveling alone, and felt very safe there. The apartment is roomy, comfortably furnished, and well equipped. The bed was especially comfortable and conducive to a good night’s sleep. The apartment is located in the back yard of a quiet street, so there was very little noise. I loved being close to Berkeley, and went to Berkeley Bowl and Trader Joe’s a couple of times. I always found parking on the street, sometimes a few houses down, but this was not a big deal for me. I had a difficult journey getting there due to flight issues, so arrived much later than l had planned. Jeri very kindly met me and walked me to the door of the apartment and opened it up for me. My stay was problem free. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

The apartment is very spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable and in an area walkable to dining and grocery shopping. A tall person might find the low ceilings a little claustrophobic but it didn't bother us. Communication with the host was very good. It met our needs and we would return.

Clean, cute, and plenty of space. Very safe. Easy street parking. Communication with the host was top notch. Will definitely stay here again when visiting my east bay friends.

This property was perfect for our short stay in Oakland. The location is convenient. The neighborhood is quiet. The unit was very clean. Bed was comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The host went out of her way to make us feel welcome and available to us. I would stay here again!

Booking the place was very easy. Jeri clearly communicated everything we needed for our stay. The spot was cozy, clean, and well appointed! Recommended!

The property was super clean. The bed was super comfy. The host was very helpful. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit my son. My only concern was the dining room chairs were rather hard. I weigh less than 100 pounds and do not have excess padding. I understand cushions may get spills on but next time I will order some ahead. It is the least I can do to give back to a host with such good taste and excellent customer service skills.

The property worked well for us. There are good restaurants and other shops in a short walking distance. We were there for six days visiting family and had a good stay.

We had stayed here before. However, this time we were not happy. To start with, we couldn’t get in. The owner was out of the country, but left names and numbers of 2 contacts. Neither could be reached. I do think that if a host will not be present for check in they should make it clear that one of their contacts must be reachable. The bathroom was not clean enough. Mold is starting to grow on the grout and caulking. Some places where the flooring meets the baseboards are outright black with gunk. Though we spent 4 nights, we were provided with only 1 set of towels each. We could not find any more. In my opinion, the whole unit needs fresh paint. There are many scrapes, gouges, and marks on the walls and woodwork. On the plus side, the bed is very comfortable, and the unit is spacious. The location is super.

Easy drive to campus. Nice area with plenty of street parking. Would stay again for sure when visiting my child at school

I come to visit my daughter at Cal 2-3x/year. And, I always fly and use public transportation because it’s so readily available. Check in was exactly how Jeri described it. She was wonderful in her communication; it wasn’t too much or too little. Personally, I love very detailed instructions and she provided it to a tee. I had asked about the possibility of early check in. And, Jeri texted me to let me know that the place was ready much earlier than anticipated. I had an issue w the towels and she came down and switched them out w me immediately (she lives upstairs). The place is very spacious, much larger than how it appears in the photos. We were so happily surprised! There’s a true separate living room, full size kitchen, and the bedroom is set back from the living room in case you have someone using the sleeper sofa. I’m assuming it folds open like a futon because we didn’t use it but a sleeper sofa was mentioned in the house binder. The only thing for me is that it’s located pretty deep within the blocks of houses. I love Oakland during the day but, I’m wary of walking in dark places at night. So, we ended up ubering much more than expected. It’s about .5 mile walk in either direction to Telegraph and College. That’s not a noticeably long walk until nightfall. I also opened a Gig car account on this trip because of the walking. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood tho. I don’t think you need a permit for street parking. Def a cute spot & I recommend it!

This unit is on the ground floor behind the house on the street. The inside of the unit was clean and functional but the shared patio area seemed slightly overgrown. Our host, Jeri, was delightful and responded immediately to our requests. Great walkable neighborhood to Market Hall, Trader Joe’s and many other small shops. Farmer’s Markets nearby. Friends who live local suggest not leaving anything of value in your car but walking to restaurants and shopping caused no safety concerns.

The apartment is perfect! Clean, quiet, spacious, well equipped and Jeri was wonderful to work with. I would go back every time.

Jeri was great with communicating with us regarding everything. The little apartment was in a nice neighborhood that was a 5-10 minute drive to Berkeley campus. It was exactly what we were looking for while we moved our daughter in for the fall semester.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay are Jeri's property. It was a necessary break during our camping trip, we only stay two days and one of those days was spent in San Francisco. It was such a blessing to have a place away from the hustle and bustle when we needed the rest. It really is close to everything you need. My only complaints would be the mattress is incredibly hard and when I read the listing it said coin operated laundry available. I took that as coin operated laundry available on premise. That was not the case, I didn't really have the time nor the energy to go to a laundromat to deal with our dirty clothes from camping. I'm not sure if it was my inability to fully comprehend the listing or if perhaps the listing needs to be modified to become more clear to those who are renting. Either way the location is great, super walkable and it's quiet.

Very nice place- well situated location wise- close to Rockridge. Lovely setup in the space- spacious but cozy.

We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future. Rockridge Market Hall is one of our favorite detinations and it is easily reached on foot. Also, North College Avenue is nearby.

My family was here from Ireland. They loved their stay and found the property to be very peaceful and quiet. They loved it.

Jeri was super friendly and helpful the entire stay. I booked this spot last minute for my dad who was coming into town and wanted a spot nearby we could also hang out at. This was a perfect little 1 BR in Oakland in a nice neighborhood. Parking was easy and the apartment had everything my dad needed. Loved this spot and will keep in mind for future family and friend visits!

Great location, convenient for shopping and restaurants

Location is terrific - - close to public transport, freeway entrance, Trader Joes, cafes, upscale food shops. Apartment is spacious, well-furnished, well-heated, and well-lit. Owner provides easy communication. Just one criticism, there ought to be a grab bar in shower for safety.

Spent 4 days there with my gf. Both of us were up there for work functions. The Bart is a short 10 min walk. Quiet neighborhood, friendly, central, clean, and affordable.

We have stayed here before and like the location. It's very close to the Rockridge Bart and shops- including Trader Joe's! We also like that there is room for our daughter and her family (who live in Oakland) to drop by and everyone has a place to sit. As an added bonus, Jeri is friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed my stay, the rental was clean and fine for my one week stay. Very close to BART. On street parking nearby.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. The place was perfect for a long weekend getaway and the courtyard garden was so relaxing. I loved all the friendly cats that were curious about me. Enjoyed all the different plants and botanical. Neighborhood was so charming and loved the vibes of the friendly people. Checked out the campus area and enjoyed a concert at the Greek theater. Trader Joe’s and The BART is less than a 10 minute walk. Enjoyed a wine flight at Vinca’s in the warehouse winery district. Angeline’s Louisiana kitchen has fabulous seafood and great ambience. Loved all the little shops and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Met Jeri on my last night and she was a fabulous host. I will definitely book again. Would like to tell my friends about it but kinda want to keep it my little secret too ;-)

My husband, teenage daughter and I all stayed at Jeri’s place for Cal Parents weekend. It was perfect, I wish we had more time to relax in the lovely apartment!

Easy walk to College Ave shops, restaurants, BART Station and 51st/Telegraph. Spacious and comfortable unit.

This is the first floor of a house, probably was a garage at one point, but nicely fixed up, lots of light, very spacious. Basic kitchen and bath, nothing fancy but definitely good value. Nice outdoor sitting area. quiet residential area, walk to stores, coffee shop etc.

Good sized apartment, with decent kitchen, but small fridge. Bed is comfortable and room was clean. Parking is readily available, on the street. All in all, this is a very comfortable place and I’d stay again! Thanks Jeri!
