We stayed 5 nights and loved every moment . The house is located in the most convenient area of Homosassa. Perfect for a quick ride to the spring or gulf. The house is very well equipped with comfortable beds, and perfect outdoor amenities. We love laying on the porch listening to the rain. We can’t wait to come back and stay another time. The host were so friendly and accommodating.

The house is as pictured except for a new dock addition which was a plus. It was super convenient for access to the river but not so much for parking. There was no parking for our boat trailer which I missed in the description. Luckily there was plenty of parking at Florida Cracker. Overall it was a great place to stay and had everything we needed!

Super cute, great location, owners were very welcoming and had great communication. Were able to check in early. We had friends at Seagrass so this ended up perfect for us to walk back and forth. Property a little tight fit with neighbors, but fit my husband's 19ft trailer and truck just fine. Only thing to note is master is an open floor plan loft style so no door for privacy from downstairs. Kids loved the Homosassaopoly. Kayaked to the Springs too. Overall cute, little place with all the fun you need.

My husband, adult son, and I rented this property for 5 nights. It is a beautiful place right on the water. We were able to dock our boat at the house which made frequent boat outings a breeze. The owner was very responsive and gracious about an issue that arose before we arrived at the property. He made sure our needs were met before we even arrived, and gave us choices about what would work for us. When we arrived, there was a gift waiting for us! I was amazed by this. I have never experienced an arrival gift from a vacation rental. It was awesome! The house is beautiful and the upstairs bed is huge and extremely comfortable. The spiral staircase is beautiful, and was easy to maneuver even for my husband who has bad knees. The downstairs has a bedroom with a bunk bed but the lower bunk has a full size mattress. There was plenty of room for our 18 year old son. Outside the backdoor there is a concrete dock, and you are steps from the water. We enjoyed feeding the fish from the picnic table, and watching the mamma ducks swimming with their babies. The owner provides fishing gear and kayaks but we didn't use either on this trip. There is a screened in porch with a huge lounge chair that was perfect for a nap. The upstairs has a balcony with a porch swing. Swinging at night in the warm Florida breeze was heavenly. There is a full bathroom downstairs and upstairs so we didn't have to share a bathroom which was extra nice. The house has central a/c and a window unit upstairs so the temperature was easy to control. There are plenty of restaurants very close by, and the Homosassa State Wildlife Park is a must see destination. One word of warning, if you go to Margarita Grill that is close enough to walk to or a very short car or boat ride away, DO NOT ORDER anything that says "large" by it. OMG Just trust me on this one. The food is amazing tho! We saw a manatee on one of our boat rides, he made a quick appearance to check us out and came right up to the boat. We took our boat to Crystal River and was able to watch another manatee for about 10 minutes. He was grazing right below our boat! It was a dream come true for me! We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at this property and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in or around Homosassa.

This place had everything we could possibly need and more. Great hosts and very clean. We had a fabulous time and got to see so much wildlife each day. Thank you for our wonderful vacation!!

Home was clean and comfortable. Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Enjoyed our time on the provided kayaks. Hosts were generous in notifying us we could check in early and check out late if we needed.

We had a great experience. Everything was as described and it was a very pleasant stay.

We love kayaking and this was a great location for doing just that. Everyday we got on the water and made our way to the springs to see the manatee. We would absolutely stay here again!

What a gorgeous view from this beautifully decorated house! Everything we needed to feel like we were home - comfortable beds, fantastic water pressure, plenty of cooking essentials (kitchen small but great use of space!) and having a washer/dryer was so helpful! Clay and Ulla responded quickly to my questions and were extremely thoughtful - so happy we were able to stay at their place and we are already planning to come back!!

This place was right on the water so it was convenient for fishing and driving boat to restaurants.

Property was just as described, and met every requirement for scalloping. Quiet neighborhood, close to town, and comfortable house for the 4 of us. Owners were always available, but not intrusive, which is always great too!

Absolutely loved our week on the river! First time vacationing here and won’t be the last. Property had all the amenities covered for a relaxing vacation. We brought our boat and loved the convenience of being able to boat whenever we wanted without the hassle of having to fight traffic at the boat ramps. Owners were prompt with responses and communicated well. Will put this house on our favorites list and book again!

We stayed three weeks into scallop season 2021 and feel like we've had a record season. Location is awesome. Kitchen not cooking friendly (no countertop space to work with, no pantry space). VRBO ad says two king beds. There is one king bed, and a queen bunk bed. This meant our friends had to get another place versus staying with us and splitting the cost like we normally do. The vrbo pic shows the covered boat parking as vacant, but the owner's boat was in the space so we couldn't use it. The place was very clean. The boat ramp for the neighborhood is so convenient. Owner may want to think about removing artwork on side of fridge, and removing pics on TV showing them giving the middle finger.

We stayed here for 10 nights and docked our boat there. It was great to be able to pack our lunch and load the ice chest and step out the back door and hop on the boat for a day of fishing. Owners were very communicative and quick to respond to anything we needed. The overall area is great, too. Very laid back and relaxing. We saw a porpoise while sitting on the back area one evening. There was no closet space or places to easily hang clothes and storage for clothes are limited, so just pack light. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Scallop Shack! Thanks to both of the owners!

Very good communication with homeowners. Next time we visit Homosassa we will definitely look into having a boat.

Very cute cottage feel. Kitchen is very small, but the outdoor space is wonderful! Very convenient to dock the boat at the back door. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed staying here so much! It was perfect for our family, and was so comfortable. It felt like a home away from home because it had all the amenities we needed. It has a wonderful porch with a swing at top, picnic table for eating outdoor right on the water. The outdoor porch was perfect, we fished right off of it, enjoyed the beautiful view, the sunsets were amazing! We parked our boat right on the dock. We saw manatee! This place has sea kayaks to enjoy as well! It’s in a nice cul de sac! I loved waking up to all the natural light this home has. It’s truly a perfect get away in Homosassa! I could not be more pleased with all the extras that made it feel like home. The owners were the nicest people and always there to answer questions the whole time! I’d stay here again in a heart beat and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone! Kids loved it so that was a big bonus!

We stayed at this property for Spring Break. Fishing off the dock kept our kids busy. The tandem kayaks were a hit. The town is small but there are enough restaurants and stores so everyone can get what they need. It was just perfect to get away from the big city.

We enjoyed our stay in Homassassa. This property is close to many great restaurants and fun things to do. Quiet, residential area.

First time in this area and this home offered so much. If you are looking to just relax and look at the water this place will satisfy that need. If you are looking for a place that offers access to water activities, including accommodating your boat, then this place will exceed your expectations. I brought my boat and got to experience fishing in this area, restaurants by water, observing manatee, and cruising in the beautiful sunsets. Be sure to research the area for depth, markers, and areas of no wake before you go. I even trapped blue crabs just steps from the back door!! The owner is super fast on communication and easy to deal with. He provided valuable information about the house and area. He has done an amazing job of how the home looks. I almost wrote bad things just to keep this place a secret but after thinking that the owner is willing to share their gem of a place I figured it would be polite to let the secret out. Definitely will be returning!!!!!!!
