We had our family stay here for a wedding weekend. It was perfect. The upstairs bar/pool table area is well appointed and beautifully finished. The beds are super comfortable. John was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Having the ability to rent the pontoon is a real bonus.

Our family celebrated our Mom's 80th Birthday at John's place. The place was clean and there was plenty to do for all ages. John was quick to respond to any questions we had. Renting his boat was a great as we really enjoyed our time on the boat. We would definitely go back again!

This was a great place to stay for four guys on a short golf trip. Big, clean, good pool table & great location.

Everything you need and want your family vacation to be... fishing off the dock, sunsets, boating, and end the night with a fire. BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY!

The property is well maintained and was spacious — the patio and terrace do not overlook the lake , rather look at the hosts huge home - John was responsive to the few questions I did ask but he gave No warning about roofers starting early in morning and not permitting us to sleep in or to use the porch or open deck above - access to the land and a huge fireplace by lake was accessible to us but we were gone during day thus we did not enjoy the quiet of a lake cottage- no view of lake snd hammering roof activity keep us from enjoying a quiet cottage - the price of the overnight jumped 873 - John partially refunded 2 nights stay since we only stayed Sunday to Thursday am were hurried out earlier than 10:30 departure - John asked if we wanted a refund because of the 4 morning disturbance he had not told us about - but has yet to refund what we requested ! Beautiful property - be aware porch and deck do not have lake views ! The host did not communicate to us about roofers coming - thus spoiling use of deck & porch as well quiet during the only time we were using it! Always ask about the access to lake and any repairs going on during the stay - Beautiful property … lacking lake view but lake accessible via walkway - nice fireplace at lake but no view of lake from lodging. The lack of communication re roofing disturbance and thus no use of patio / deck and no lake view from lodging lowered my rating for the Host & Stay

The cabin was great for our family vacation, it had something for all ages. It was clean and had plenty of space for our family of 8. The outside amenities were great and the lake is a great lake to spend the day on the boat.

We enjoyed our stay. The girls loved the pool table. Close to stores and food. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was spacious, clean and situated on a dead end road so very quiet. We absolutely loved the property and being able to use the pontoon to explore the many lakes. We also enjoyed making s’mores by the fire and relaxing on the screened in porch. It was immaculate upon checkin and communication with owner couldn’t have been better. Very quick to respond to questions. Our son caught a beautiful bass as well so he was pretty happy. Can’t wait to return.

Beautiful property. House was functional and more than enough space for a family of 6. Well stocked kitchen,and comfortable beds. Young adults and teenagers really enjoyed the upstairs theater, pool table and cozy sleeping quarters. John was super responsive and great to deal with. We rented the pontoon from him as well and enjoyed watersporting and touring the lake. House was organized and tidy. The home has high quality appliances and tvs in every room. This place is perfect for a group of friends or a family... or even a couple of families who are looking to vacation together on a great lake! Although the guest house doesn't have a view of the lake, it has everything you's need and want, with the lake just steps away (around the main house). A couple of very nice bedrooms on the main level with a big living room, a fully stocked kitchen, grill, games for outside, etc... Upstairs has more beds, a full bar area with pool table, upper deck, etc... John, the owner, is great to work with... he'll rent his pontoon, so no need to bring your own boat... and there is a really nice place to have evening fires by the lake.

The bedroom set up worked well for our two families. We had 6 teenagers sharing the upstairs space and the parents each had a bedroom on the main floor. We also rented the pontoon boat which was awesome for our big group. The air conditioning in the place worked great which was very nice as it was hot during our stay. John was very responsive to our requests and was kind when inquiring about a missing remote and pool ball (which were all found). The only negative was that you couldn’t see the water from the guest house but access to the water was very easy. Overall, this was a great property for a big group like ours and John was a great host.

The property is well groomed and building and grounds are safe clean and very comfortable. The host is very responsive to concerns and questions. Our family consisted of teens, middle aged and older adults. The stairs to the dock count 26 and posed no problem for us. I needed to launch my fishing boat and that was located right across the road from the property. Very convenient. Very comfortable beds and sofa and chairs. Beautiful fireplace with patio and chairs to enjoy an evening fire. Ample firewood provided. Very enjoyable vacation John. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

The place was perfect for our group of 4 families with three small children. Plenty of room to hang out in the house, watch movies, play pool and have family dinners. We spent the last night around the gorgeous patio/fire pit. John was very gracious with his time and allowing us to use the pontoon boat. 10/10 would definitely stay again.

This place was perfect for our group of 7 and 2 dogs. Beds were comfy and the pool table was an extra bonus. Loved that we could rent the pontoon from John at a much cheaper rate then anywhere else. John was quick to respond when we had a question. Overall great place with a great host!!

This place was everything you want for a vacation. The house was clean and equipped with quality necessities along with extra amenities; such as a pool table, pontoon, ouside firplace, etc.. The owner was kind and quick to answer any questions we had while staying there. All the beds were amazingly comfortable!

We were so thankful to find John’s place! It is on a beautiful spot of the lake. He was so generous to us and easy to get in contact with if we had a question. We will definitely be saving this listing for future dates! :)

Seriously cant say enough great things about this place! Highly highly recommend. Owner was amazing! Incredibly reponsive if we had questions. Was patient with my not so high tech knowledge. They really put alot of thought into everything. Even then kitchen had everything we needed. We brought alot of our own but if we forgot anything they had it! Seriously would 1000 percent go back in heartbeat! Would recommend to any family or friends. Idk what the one negative review was because this place is nothing less then amazing! Pontoon was also wonderful. We even caught some good fish out there! We appreciate the owner for allowing us to stay!

Beautiful guest house that is located on a very nice lake. Located about 30 minutes from Brainerd. Quiet neighborhood during our May trip. Accommodations were very spacious and our larger family group fit easily. Highly recommend staying at this VRBO.

First thing we saw was a mouse. Make sure you bring your own paper towels and toilet paper. Said in the description there was a ice maker. Well didn't work. He doesn't like to many questions just Figure everything out yourself

We had a great stay at John's guest house in early October. The weather was fabulous as was John's home. Everything was convenient and neat and clean. John treated us very generously when we had to make some changes in our plans and we appreciated his flexibility. All in all it was a great getaway.

The guest house was the perfect size for our group. The property was absolutely beautiful! The owner was very attentive when needed. Definitely a great spot!

We stayed here for an annual guys' getaway weekend... There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room in the spacious 2-level guest house. The place had a full kitchen, stocked with everything we needed; large TVs in every room, a pool table upstairs, and a grill outside. Our host, John, who would normally stay in the main house, was the best host he was was quick to reply to any questions that we had... and it turned out that he was not going to be in town for the weekend so he graciously let us use the lakeside fireplace pit to have bonfires each night. Other bonuses of this rental included the ability to rent John's pontoon at a rate far lower than other lake boat rentals. In addition, if you ae looking to swim off the dock, the shoreline sand was beautiful! This place is a gem on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes!

The place was a great set up for two families with 4 teenagers. They had a blast in the upper level area playing pool and watching movies at night. We loved having the convenience of having a slip for our boat and jet skis. Beautiful view and outdoor fireplace when you walk around the main house.
