The best thing about this house is it’s location. It’s an adorable older home with an awesome hot tub. However, the house was not clean. The basement smelled of mold, as there is water issues/seepage in the basement laundry room. My son sat on the bed in the basement and it collapsed(the slats need to be screwed in) and the ceiling height in the basement is deceiving in the pics, it’s very low. The game area is in the basement and not anywhere you’d really want to spend time because of the moldy smell.

Pros: beds were comfortable. Game room downstairs provided hours of fun. Plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. Cons: Needs cleaning. We took off shoes at door. By bedtime we had to wash our feet which were black from the floor downstairs. Table was not clean. The only regular size fry pan had rusted, broken handle. Food crusted on it. Other pans rusted and dirty. Very few pans. No baking dishes. No dish soap. Not appropriate for 12 people. Had queen sized inflatable bed but it leaked and had no bedding. Had futon bed but no bedding. Basement is damp so not good for someone with mold allergies. Basement floor damp. Shelf/drawers missing in refrigerator and broken on door of refrig. Because we were large family, it was very hard to utilize refrigerator. The only ice tray was from a dorm fridge. Said there was ping pong but there wasn't any. Dining chair had very loose leg. Called manager with questions at arrival. He said he would check on it but we never heard back. Texted concerns, but only got a reply one time.

We had 8 friends together here—3 couples and a set of siblings. The beds were mostly comfortable and it’s a great location. Bring your own dishrags, washcloths, and hand towels, as they are not provided. Bring a fan, also, because only one upstairs bedroom has an air conditioner. Several items didn’t work, such as blinds wouldn’t open, window screens ripped and torn… Over all, it was a good stay. The air conditioner works great on the main level! The air hockey and pool table were a blast, and the hot tub was HOT!! Great location, as it was close to everything.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed as far as cleanliness. It was absolutely filthy. The listing claims they have a no pet policy. When we walked in it reeked of cat urine. We found that the area rugs were saturated in fresh cat urine. The floors were so dirty our feet were black within minutes of walking around. There was cat/pet hair on most of the bedding, furniture, on the floors, and throughout the bathrooms. We ended up cleaning the house ourselves simply to make it bearable for our stay. Many of the bed/comforters and pillows smelled like animal/cat. One of the comforters had old semen still on the underside. Many of the lights were out. The lock on the door was difficult to function. The refrigerator had pieces falling out when we opened it and was also very dirty. We reached out to the host and I will say he was quick to respond. He acted as if cleaners had come in prior to our stay but I have a very hard time believing that. He offered a refund of the cleaning fee, but then only ended up giving me a portion of that. When I reached out again after our stay he did not respond. I contacted VRBO staff and I am waiting to hear back about how we can make this right. I hope this was a fluke thing and that this rental isn’t always like this, but to be safe, I would not rent it! One of the girls in our group has a severe cat allergy and she was taking all of her meds around the clock to simply step foot in this place. It was awful. I would never stay here again.

The place is nice and has lots of amenities in the kitchen like pots and pans. Gorgeous dining room table and living area. I loved how close it was to downtown cda and within walking distance to some food places on Sherman. Would definitely recommend to others staying in the area.

Checking in was easy. The game room was entertaining. Very spacious. The fridge seemed to take a while to get our food cold. Our group had a great time utilizing the amenities at this property. Thank you for accommodating us!

The house was spacious and clean and well equipped. The furniture was very nice and clean as well.. the temperatures were very warm during our stay… in high nineties and the house never cooled below 76 degrees. there were a few minor drawbacks in some of the amenities that were a little annoying.. perhaps the owner is unaware..the bathroom lighting was poor in both bathrooms with only one out of five lightbulbs operational in the upstairs bathroom and only two small bulbs in the bathroom downstairs. Kitchen lighting again was too dark.. Soap dispensers didn’t work, no hangers in the closets and the light switches were confusing. I hope the owner can tend to these minor annoyances.. it would be five stars then!

Such a perfect cottage with the best location for anyone. The home was clean. So many Amenities. Everything you would possibly need and working and in great condition. We had the best time ever!! Thank you Jake!!

Was a very nice stay, game room has worn equipment but still was fun. Great location with a supermarket a block away. Fully stocked kitchen. Older house so don't expect it to be all decked out modern but we had a great time on our winter retreat.

The location is great! Easy communication with the host. The place hasn't been remodeled in quite a while. Needs some TLC like replacing moldy grout. The biggest problem was unclean sheets. No one wants to sleep in dirty sheets. Otherwise would have been a good stay.

This home was in an excellent location for walking to downtown and grocery store. The home was clean and had a nice floor plan, on three levels. The home did need some TLC, maintenance and updates but that didn't have any impact on our visit, we enjoyed the home.

House was just as pictured- classic older home with character and some updates. It was adorable and location was great. We could walk out to get a bite, but weren’t amidst the bustle of Sherman Ave. The game room was a great for evening /down time entertainment. The only shortfall was the house was listed as having AC - and it does - but it’s a window unit in the master; it doesn’t cool the whole house. We had a great stay!

We were so thrilled with the location of this property. We walked everywhere for the extended weekend we were there! The house was the perfect size for us all. After reading previous reviews, we packed some additional plugs so that we knew we could all get ready for the wedding we were attending—we made it work. Host was responsive, and the baked good we ordered were yummy.

The house was clean and conveniently located. We were able to avoid the car and walk with the kids just a short distance to all that CDA has to offer. The games in the basement were a big plus for some quality family time. The family agrees, we would definitely stay here again.

The house was described as newly renovated, however the furniture was worn as well as the inside paint. Linens did not appear to be clean, stains on blankets and pillows. Could not sleep in the basement, bed linens did not appear clean, many large spiders in the basement and main floor of the house. Beds in basement only have foam mattresses. Location is close to Sherman Ave, but some surrounding homes are run down. The house definitely does not sleep 12 people as advertised and the pictures on VRBO are a but deceiving. The host responded quickly to my messages. We did not use the backyard, too hot and not much privacy. The jacuzzi cover was covered with dirt and droppings from surrounding plants, so we did not use it. We loved the visit and the house did the job after four of our party moved to a hotel due to unsuitable sleeping arrangements, spiders and cleanliness.

Not enough beds for 12. Also not much in the way of bedding for people sleeping on the couches. Other than that the property was great and we had a great stay.

The listing said it slept 12, upon arrival we only found beds for 10 and no extra linens for the futon or couch. I texted the property owner at 9:30 I’m the morning to help resolve the issue and didn’t hear back from him until 2:30 am. By that time of night we had already figured things out. The property could have used some extra time cleaning as well. It wasn’t horrible but enough to make me pull out the vacuum before the rest of our party arrived. The location was fabulous and so was the hot tub.

The CDA rental was located in a great spot. Walking distance to town and the lake. Plenty of space for our group of 7. A fun basement with air hockey, pool and card table. Would remind future renters of sparse electrical outlets. Also, the toppers on the beds are soft, in case renters are looking to have a medium to firm mattress experience.
