Though Protero Beach is not our favorite, we stayed this time as a group of 10, so there are not many options to stay on Penca Beach. We loved the upper patio and watching sunsets from here or the beach every night. A person met us at the property and was most helpful when we checked in. The kitchen, dining, and living spaces were all perfect for our two families and grandmother who stayed. We had 5 kids aged 13, 12, 11, 9, and 7. They all shared the bedroom just off the dining and kitchen. The bathroom in here was less than stellar though. It has a toilet that seems like it is meant for a trailer and stunk horribly. The laundry room is also here so if someone is sleeping or showering, you cannot get to the laundry room. There were also no windows or fans in the bath/laundry room so they were hot and smelly. Other than this, the penthouse was perfect. We felt very safe in the area and loved being able to walk to so many things and be right on the beach. We would stay here again if we planned on another big group in Protrero.

Maria was awesome and took care of all our needs quickly. The condo is beautiful and the view and sunsets are amazing. The toilet in the master needs adjusted, it continuously runs. The cleaning crew and Darwin who takes care of the pool do an amazing job!

We had an excellent vacation here, the owner contact us...we were able to tell her about our party and all our needs (most of the party were kids from 1,5 to 11 years) and we ended up with a play pen, high chair and lots and lots of pool toys and even a kayak...that was really sweet and thoughtful, the location was great, right in front the beach with amazing sunsets and super close to Potrero "downtown" if our family from abroad come back again for vacation we'll definitely book this house again and again.

We rented with our family of 6 including 4 kids under 13. Our family rented a pool Level underneath us. This is our second time renting. We had an amazing experience. There was nothing more we could have asked for from the pool to the beach to the taught club. It’s a great mix of Costa Rica experience with American ease. Our penthouse has everything you could need. And the commodities were exceptional. Cannot wait to come again.

Great times in Costa Rica- nice amenities & great location for several beaches & adventures

we were a group of 4 couples who stayed at the property for the past two weeks. We had all been to the area before and found this place to be fantastic! It was equipped with everything a person would need . The location is perfect and easy walk to many restaurants. If you are a bigger group or family, this is the place for you Chris the owner was so easy to deal with and responds to any and all questions or concerns! thanks Chris, we will be back!

Costa Rica trip with our niece and her kids. Good beach activities and excellent restaurants. Only negative aspect is the ACTIVE construction site next door with loud construction noise starting at 7 am every day.

Great location-on the beach, walking distance to small store and several restaurants. Also-Crossfit and yoga were only a block away. :) Pretty popular with other US folks. Minor con-some wear (likely from previous VRBO partiers) was evident. Didn’t impact our stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the penthouse. It was spacious and very clean. We would definitely stay here again. Chris was very helpful and responsive. We hated to leave.

The place is perfect! Really good location. The property has really amazing views. I will stay on this property my next time. Everything is close! Beach is in front of the property. Pool is really good. You will enjoy this penthouse!

El Destino has the best location on the beach. First it looks out to some of the best sunsets I have seen in my life. It is walking distance to the market, fruit stand and tons of restaurants. Hemmingway’s at the sailing center was hands down our favorite. Great place to relax, enjoy the beach, and live Pura Vida!

We just loved our time at El Destino. The condo was the perfect size for our large family and the location couldn’t have been more convenient for walking into town. We also loved the membership to the Sailing Center. The family enjoyed the pool and the neighbors were so nice! We hope to be back.

We had a wonderful stay at the El Destino Penthouse. There were a couple repairs needed, which the property manage addressed immediately. Beautiful condo and great pool.

Renting the Penthouse at El Destino was easy and our stay was fantastic despite the rain. The arrangement of the space made it very comfortable for our multigenerational family.

The penthouse is exactly as described. The beach is really nice and the water very warm. Potrero is much more low key than Flamingo or Brasilito but close enough especially with a golf cart which I would recommend. Numerous great restaurants with The Surf Box maybe the best around. I would give it 5 stars except the last 3 days the nice lawn between the pool and beach has been unusable due to reseeding of the grass. The near constant whine of the string trimmer made us not want to use the pool for those same 3 days. Luckily we had a golf cart and could drive to other beaches.

They day of our arrival there was an emergency situation and we were unable to stay in this property. However, the Property Managers and Owners were able to relocate us to another beautiful property a few doors down, and our family had a wonderful vacation! In our opinion, the Potrero location was ideal! In addition to Playa Potrero, Playa Flamingo and Playa Penca are very close, as well as Playa Dantita, the latter 2 having good snorkeling opportunities and small little islands that my husband and kids swam out to explore. We also went to Diamante Eco Adventure Park and visited their beautiful Animal Sanctuary. Thank you for a great vacation!

We truly loved this penthouse! Perfect location for walking to restaurants! Very safe area. The beach was beautiful! There were 9 of us staying in the penthouse and there was plenty of space for all of us. We were able to watch the sunset from the beach or balcony every night. The staff was wonderful! We didn't want to leave!

We were a group of seven adults. The condo was perfect--clean, well equipped with everything you could possibly require to make your stay comfortable, including maid service. The tap water was safe to drink. The owners provided lots of excellent of information regarding excursions, restaurants, activities, shops, etc. before we left home. Potrero is a lovely, friendly small town where you can walk to everything--restaurants (great food AND entertainment), fresh fruit market, local bakeries (delicious sweets and fresh bread/sandwiches). We all love swimming in the ocean (lots of large, thick beach towels provided). The beach was perfect for swimming and walking. Another lovely beach was within walking distance. The property grounds and swimming pool were beautiful and well maintained. We felt extremely safe. It was great to have the BBQ on the deck where we cooked chicken and shrimp one evening while enjoying the fantastic view of the setting sun. Morning coffee/breakfast watching the sun rise was one of our favourite activities!! We would highly recommend this property.

A celebration of 50th birthday brought me and four other ladies to Potrero for 9 days. We could not imagine a better place to stay than El Destino. The condo is big enough to handle bigger groups than ours, so we were quite comfortable. We loved that each room had its own bathroom - it made getting ready much easier. There's plenty of closet space, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning was a blessing given the 90+ degree heat. We spent time at the pool and the beach, and had a chance to visit with some of the lovely people staying in other condos. We could not hear them inside the penthouse, only from the deck, which we didn't mind at all. (And assume they could hear us as well.) We were so thankful to Roxana from Tropical Homes for arranging a catamaran trip, diving and massages for us. She was incredible! The town of Potrero is charming. We especially enjoyed meals at El Castillo and Perlas - both of which are within easy walking distance. We all agreed we would happily stay at El Destino again.

There were 10 of us including 3 small kids. We loved the condo, the pool, and the beach. We walked to all the area restaurants and loved the area. We had rented cars and drove to Penca, Conchal and Tamarindo (2 times there). These were all beautiful beaches but so different. The confi has plenty of room and has all the sand toys you could need. We used the boogie boards on the beach and it was so much fun. We can’t recommend this condo enough!!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and we certainly found a vacation destination to return to. The property is spacious and very well maintained. Location couldn’t have been more perfect, right on a quiet beach and a short walk to restaurants, grocery store, sailing center and brewery. The beach is great for taking a long walk and collecting shells. Our favorite part of the condo was the huge balcony. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening sunsets outside everyday. We will definitely be back.

Our entire group was impressed with this beautiful condo! The rooms are a perfect layout for multiple families traveling together; they're spaced out so everyone has some privacy but can also mingle in the main areas and share meals together. Christine and the concierge were fantastic with communication and made us feel very welcome. She even made sure our one-year-old was all set to use toys, bed, high chair that her grand-kids have used over the years. The condo is an awesome location too -- walking distance to many great restaurants, the sailing club, and we saw monkeys across the street!

Absolutely gorgeous home! It was perfect for our family group. The sunset view from the balcony was awesome! We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it! Also, the owners went out of their way to help us with booking and the concierge and maid service was great!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The owners were fantastic, easy to work with, and very responsive to every question and need we had. The penthouse was incredible. We had 11 people in our group and we had more than enough space. The penthouse was generously stocked with linens, towels, beach towels, dishes, cookware, boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach toys etc. There's plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well as a small convenience store. There is a large store nearby that you can drive to as well. We only ate out twice in a 7 day period as the kitchen was amply stocked for cooking. Chris (the owner) supplied us with a very helpful list of recommendations (stores, things to do, money etc) prior to our arrival. We planned much of our vacation based on these recommendations and we were very satisfied. The staff from Tropical Homes were fantastic as well. We felt very safe with the outdoor maintenance men - Dilmet and Jesus. They helped us build a fire on the beach and answered any questions we had about the area. They even helped us with our (not so good) Spanish. The housekeepers were wonderful as well, but we did not have the opportunity to interact with them as much. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an amazing stress free, worry free vacation in Costa Rica!

This place not only took our breath away with the view. Every aspect of the penthouse was excellent. Clean clean clean and fresh. Very fresh. I would stay there again. I couldn’t get over what was available to us by staying at the penthouse. I have to admit we spent a lot of time on the terrace too. With the view and the tropical breeze and wildlife that was coming to the coconuts there was always something new to see right there from the terrace. Next time I have to travel with that many folks I hope I can find this place available as it was awesome.

We were in Playa Portrero for our son's wedding and had 4 generations staying at this gorgeous condo! The eldest 94 and the youngest 11 months. The condo is so well appointed; so spacious; in such a wonderful location; and the owner and concierge service were wonderful to work with. We did not have time as much time for fun as we needed but there's a reason right there to return. Our wedding & vacation was just lovely and the daily walks on the beach and swims were magical and restorative. Thank you so very much for allowing us to visit your beautiful home and for the fantastic memories we will cherish all our days!

Great property and location. Close to many restaurants. No need to cook. Lots of room for both kids and adults. Can't wait to come back again.

I booked El Destino Penthouse for my husband's 45th birthday celebration. There were three couples total and when we first arrived, we were all amazed by the beauty of the penthouse and overall accommodations. The penthouse is located next to several great restaurants (food and music is awesome). We had a special dinner at NUMU and the entire bill for six adults (drinks included) was only $150. El Castillo and Perlo's had live bands and karaoke on Friday and Saturday night that we enjoyed. The pool and beach were perfect and the bus stop was right near the supermarket (merkado). We took the bus to Playa Tamarindo with no issues (it comes like every hour). Overall this was the best experience and can't wait to visit again. Also, the concierge and owners were the best and very attentive.

This Penthouse Condo is perfect. Description and Pictures are very accurate. Large, spacious and sleeps 10 comfortably. Beautifully furnished with all the amenities one could ask for. The management company staff are great! They were quick and attentive to any request we had and also good source for local information and tour recommendations. Awesome sunset views and the beach (Playa Potrero) was perfect for families. It was better than staying at a five star resort. We will be staying here again!

We had a family reunion here and it was perfect! They layout was great it was VERY well supplied including boogie boards and sand toys for the children, an air mattress and a pack and play. We had all ages- 2 kids under 2, two 8 year olds, and 2 teens. There was plea to if room for all to sleep, eating space between the table and the bar, and the outside terrace area was perfect for those of us who wake up early and don't want to disturb the others. There was a little snag at check in - our reservations were lost but they handled it beautifully and immediately dispatched 3 cleaners to get it ready while we hung out in the pool. It didn't even put a bump in our vacation and they were so nice and apologetic. I would highly recommend this place to anyone but it was especially fantastic for us with all of the different kids ages. Having the beach right in front well as the pool made it easy for everyone to get what they wanted. The giant bathtub in the master made it easy for me to take care of baby bath time. There are also several great restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be back!
