Casa Loca was perfect for 10 of us during our recent holiday stay. The house itself is rustic (but so is Los Pargos and that's what gives it so much of its charm) and showing some signs of its age, but, that said, it was comfortable, had everything we needed, the pool was fantastic, the views amazing and sunsets beyond description. What truly made our stay exceptional however, was the hospitality provided by Meaghan and Jarrod. They were incredible to work with. The reservation, check-in, pre-stocked groceries, check-out and all communication in between were professional and easily managed. Then there were intangibles... First, Jarrod accommodated our unexpected early arrival by providing us a place to store our bags, change into bathing suits and arranging transportation for us to Playa Avellana. Later that day when the house was ready, he took time out of his busy schedule to come personally pick us up and take us back to Casa Loca where our bags were waiting for us. If that were not enough, later that week for our sons 14th birthday, Meaghan brought over two cakes (the tres leches was amazing) with birthday candles (it made his day as he was not expecting anything given our somewhat remote location). Bottom line, we thoroughly enjoyed Casa Loca, would absolutely go back to Los Pargos and, if you rent any home managed by Jarrod and Meaghan, you are in good hands!

This house is perfect for a large family or multiple families traveling to the beach. In addition to the 4 bedrooms there is a TV room and office that both have extra sleeping spaces. In terms of the beach, its amazing, very short walk to Playa Negra and then walking north, you discover additional nice sandy coves which are ideal for younger children. We loved it.

This was a great place to stay to get away from it all. It was more remote than I was expecting, but that was ok

The house was amazing and the location was great. Playa Negra is much less crowded than Tamarindo so we were able to have much more luck surfing and boogie boarding without concerns of being ran into. The views were great and the pool was perfect for cooling off at the end of the day. Also, we tried several of the restaurants in town that were just a few minute drive and they were all great. Lastly, Jarrod was very responsive and provided good information and assistance in booking a sunset cruise as well as some day excursions. We are already talking about when we will be able to get back to this great home.

Casa Loca was the perfect home base for us to explore the coast. The house was clean and spacious, well maintained. Meaghan and Jarrod were always available and very helpful. After a day of exploring there was nothing better than coming back to relax at the pool and enjoy the view. We would highly recommend this property for those looking to have a comfortable, full amenities home base from which to explore beautiful Costa Rica.

We recently spent 5 nights here on our spring break. There were 10 of us & it was incredibly spacious. The 180 degree ocean views were amazing. Our kids loved the pool and we enjoyed the sunsets each evening. They were absolutely beautiful. The house is well equipped & Meagan and Jarrod were very accommodating when we were arrived several hours earlier than check in and allowed us to come early. Even though they were out of town, they were checking in with us & making sure everything was okay. We loved the location of Playa Negra as it felt remote & not touristy at all. Although, there are so many great restaurants and plenty to do nearby. We surfed, spent time at the beach, ziplined, went horse back riding, ATV tour and did a private sail boat tour. We loved our time here at Casa Loca & hope to return. Our only negative was that our vacation wasn't long enough.

We recently spent a week at Casa Loca and had a fantastic experience as first time travelers to CR. Booking was a breeze, Jarrod and Meaghan were great to deal with, always helpful and quick to reply to our messages. Upon arrival we were all impressed with the cleanliness, size and layout of the home. The outdoor space was fantastic with a great sized swimming pool, and the views at sunset were breathtaking from the veranda. Jarrod and Meaghan referred us to a local tour company called TPV who were also amazing! We all had a wonderful vacation and would recommend Playa Negra Vacation Rentals for anyone looking to book with ease.

As a first time traveler to Costa Rica I could not have asked for more from my time in Playa Negra. Our stay in mid July was everything I had imagined. Great beaches, great surf and Casa Loca was an amazing setup for my group of six buddies. The house was even better in person than the pictures online. Very spacious, well kept and the second story kitchen/dining /porch area was a perfect setup after a long beach day to cook/relax and hang with everyone. We could have fit another six people comfortably in the house. Jarrod and Mariah were great. Not only were they helpful for anything we needed for the house, they helped plug us in with anything else travel wise we needed so that our time in Costa Rica was completely worry free. Counting down the days until I can try and replicate the exact same trip again

Amazing vacation! We had eleven people and the house was perfect for all of us! It was paradise...was very sad to leave! And Jarrod was great anything we needed he made sure we had it and we thank you for that! And Joel and the pizza place down the road was awesome! He made us a family style dinner for all eleven of us it was great. We will be back!!! Pura Vida!!!

I stayed at Casa Loca in January 2015. There was a total of 7 of us, the house was huge, and we all had plenty of space. The location is perfect and a quick walk to Playa Negra. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked for cooking large family meals and the restaurants in the area are worth visiting too. Jarrod and Meaghan were excellent prior to and during the rental. Anything we needed was taken care of immediately. Jarrod arranged for massages at the house and a horseback ride which were phenomenal. I can't say enough good things and as I sit here in the middle of another blizzard I dream of coming back as soon as possible!

It was all as advertised . The information book on places to see, eat, caterer , contacts etc was invaluable. It would have been nice if the gate community would open tennis court which would require new net and resurface clay base but there is a court 10 minutes away at jw Marriott resort. The service by pool maintenance , weekly maids and Jarrad and Meagan was outstanding. Little things they did meant a lot like changing the drinking water bottles and staffing the house with paper towels, toilet paper, washing machine detergent etc etc. Strongly recommend renting the villa loca . Only negative issue but not a big deal was dishwasher inoperative due to difficult in maintenance of this type of equipment. The washer/dryer was the critical piece of equipment and it worked fine.

If you are looking for a vacation of a life time, in the middle of paradise, in an unspoiled natural setting, without giving up your house hold luxuries...the Casa Loca is the house for you!!! We were married July 20th, 2013 on beach of Playa Negra, steps away from Casa Loca, it was an unforgettable moment, great memories that we will cherish forever. There is something about this home that you can't put into words, you just have to experience it. Ocean views from every bedroom window when you wake, the smell of the ocean breeze, the sound of the ocean waves breaking on the reef below are some of the things we will never forget. The locals are friendly, helpful, and make you feel welcomed. I struggled with giving such a great review because I would never want this place to be discovered and overwhelmed with tourist, but, being such a special place where we will return to time and time again, we as a family decided it should be shared.:) Thank you Jarrod and Meaghan, you went above and beyond being just helpful host's, you created the ultimate family vacation, and memories tattooed in our hearts and minds forever. The house is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful, right on the ocean and having a pool to relax after the day's activities is really nice. Jarred and Meghan the house's management were fabulous. They pointed us to great activities, set us up with anything we needed and were so happy to help us in any way. They set us up with a day on a sail boat, a river boat trip, zip lining and surfing lessons. All activities were great recommendations. . This location is more removed than some of the other places we visited in Costa Rica which meant we needed to plan things like groceries and cash a bit more. Despite that there is a restaurant nearby run by a chef who has been head chef for events for four presidents and other big names. The location is a fun adventure.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Loca. I was looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle and we found it. Short drive in to Tamarindo but yet quiet and peaceful when we returned home. The layout of the house is excellent. The way the windows and doors are placed you can get a constant cross breeze. We never used the air conditioning. Having owned a house in the tropics, this was a huge assest for us. The pool was kept sparkling clean and it was just a short walk down the hill to the beach. This area of beach is not good for little ones as it is a great surf spot, so waves are constant. However being lulled to sleep by those same waves was awesome. We were lucky to be there during a full moon and the nights were incredible not to mention the sunsets. There is nothing negative to be said about this home, it was perfect. The only thing I wish was that we were there during dry season and everything was brown, but Mother Nature is out of the control of the owner and management.

Sun, sand, surf and a private pool! What more could anyone ask for? Four adults spent a week at this beautiful oceanfront oasis, and one week was not long enough. We explored the tide pools, watched the surfers and yachts passing by, met Lolita at Lola's, saw monkeys, wild horses drink from the pool, but also plenty of time to chill in the pool and laze in the hammock. Casa Loca was definitely a highlight of the trip, the house is exactly as shown in the pictures. Jarrod is an excellent manager, keeping in touch to ensure everything was running smoothly but still respecting our privacy. Our next trip to Costa Rica will definitely include Casa Loca!

I was able to stay for a week at Casa Loco - I stayed there almost 3 years ago, & the house has grown older very well. It's even more comfortable, and the outside landscaping makes it more private & self-contained. We had a great time - still fabulous sunsets, seashells, monkeys, body-surfing. This time we also did some snorkeling within walking distance, which was perfect. Went out to Mary's restaurant for dinner - really good food; enjoyed the beach & Lola the pig at Lola's restaurant. Lots of activities available to appeal to almost anyone. Thanks Casa Loco!

Wow, what a great experience, I just wish we would have had more time to stay in that beautiful house, it was exactly as it is described. We went with our adult children and their spouses and had a trip of a lifetime. Jarrod was extremely helpful with the activities we wanted to do and made the experience even better with his continued assistance. We hope to go back again sometime soon and I highly recommend this house and Jarrod.

Our extended family rented Casa Loca this past Christmas and it was an amazing experience. We have been to Costa Rica several times before, but this was by far the best house and location. We surfed, swam, walked, rode horses, had massages, ziplined, and ate and drank well! The house was absolutely perfect and the views just can't be beat. Jarrad and Meghan could not have been more helpful. We loved it and can't wait to return.
