Beautiful view of the water! Kitchen is nicely equipped and everything went smoothly.

The Otter’s Hideaway was such a beautiful place to stay and our property manager, Ela, and her dog Mel were the best! The place was very clean, homey, and offered amazing views of the bay all day. Whether you’re looking for a nice retreat or just a place to stay on a part of your trip, you can’t get any better than the Otter’s Hideaway! 10/10 would definitely stay again and I’m looking forward to staying there again in the near future.

The Alaska Airlines flight attendant said, "Have a magical day," just after we landed in Juneau. I thought it was cute. Little did I know I was in for several magical days. Otter's Hideaway and the host, Ela, are incredible. Read the other reviews about how comfortable and thoughtfully appointed it is. For me, the magical part was outside. I didn't just get to see porpoises, eagles, ravens, otters, and sea urchins and stars, I got to experience how they live. The ravens hunted worms. Sea stars clung to rocks as the tide went out. A pair of eagles spent most of their day perched in pine trees or sitting an a nearby dock. And the porpoises were almost always feeding and playing on the cove. I experienced a lot of great things during my stay in Juneau, but the best thing was being connected to nature at Otter's Hideaway. Thank you Ela (and Mel)!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The kitchen was very well stocked and the washer/dryer was very useful for our wet clothes during the stormy weather. We walked over to Duck Island during the low tide. It was an easy drive to the airport, Glacier Visitor Center, and Downtown. The host communicated early and often which improved our experience. It was nice to be somewhere away from the tourist areas and be able to see other parts of the city.

Otter’s Hideaway is a good name for this property - very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is well-stocked with lots of thoughtful extras (i.e backpack) and the decor is delightful.

The property is absolutely magnificent. Inside it is decorated with artwork from the area. Not to mention the well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The view is phenomenal and peaceful. The host will assist you for local gems to explore. We will be back for sure. Thank you for having us at your beautiful property.

Amazing view, everything you could possibly need is provided, well stocked home with cleaning supplies, cooking accessories, towels, blankets etc. The home is very clean, host is friendly and provides lots of great suggestions in the area. Hiking trail right down the road, not far from downtown but far enough to feel relaxed and out of the city. Best home I’ve stayed in, can’t recommend it enough.

Otter’s Hideaway is a phenomenal property inside and out. Ela has provided everything a guest could ever want and or need. The furnishings are comfortable and thoughtful. There are several places to sit and enjoy the view. The sheets and towels are high quality and very soft. I will be coming back again!

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this address because it is such a perfect fit for my expectations.

We spent 6 days at Otters Hideaway for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the location, not too far from Juneau but far enough that it feels secluded from the crowds. You're basically within 10-20 minutes from everything! Ela was a fantastic host, very friendly and communicative. You simply don't find hosts that think of everything their guests may need anymore. We enjoyed watching wildlife from the porch and opening the windows to fall asleep to the sounds of the tide. This place is cozy, comfortable bed, soft towels, well stocked kitchen to easily cook a meal, and spacious for my husband and I. We would highly recommend and stay again! This was the most well supplied vrbo in which we have stayed. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. Communication could not have been better.

My wife and I were staying in Juneau to enjoy the sites and do some hiking, photography and excursions. Otters Hideaway was the perfect place to stay. The host was awesome, great communication and tips for the area. The place was clean and cozy, plenty of amenities. the back deck with the view of the bay is everything the pictures make you think it is. Our next trip to Juneau will probably revolve around whether this place is available agian!

The scenery is exquisite. The accommodations are all one could ask for, the property manager was helpful and kind! The Alaskan experience even included a benign neighborhood bear!

Otter’s Hideaway is a gem tucked away on the water with a view from a spacious deck. When the tide is out you can walk the beach to an island . The location is centrally located for any activity. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed for grilling at home. The hostess has created a charming and very comfortable paradise . I can’t wait to return.

We loved this apartment! The view was outstanding, the apartment was superbly stocked and the bed was super comfortable. I have a little WFH side hustle and needed Wifi while on vacation, and I was pleasantly surprised to find lightening fast internet connection, as well. Ela gave us some great suggestions for hikes and things to do while in Juneau. She, her husband and dog, Mel, live upstairs and are very easy to contact if you have questions or need anything. Mel is a very friendly Goldendoodle doggo that came down and hung out with us a couple of times. If you’re not into dogs, just let Ela know, and she’ll keep him upstairs. While we weee there, we kayaked in the bay, walked out to Duck Island during low tide and spent our evenings outside on the beautiful deck overlooking Auke Bay. I can’t wait to go back next summer….highly recommend!!

This was absolutely the perfect spot for our short trip to Juneau. Right on the water, extremely clean, comfortable and private. 10 minutes from town and the airport. Ela left a treasure trove of restaurant reviews and other local lore. Ela herself is a delight. Possibly my best travel experience. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Communication was quick, checkin was a breeze and Ella was wonderful. We arrived in the afternoon but left to visit friends. Upon turning in for the night the place was warmly lit, and nice oversized furniture welcomed us. The bed was amazing, I know. I can’t believe I’m writing about the king size bed but we slept great. Al waking up the next morning we finally saw the view of the ocean literally right outside the bedroom and living room window. Everything was perfect. Clean, comfortable and quiet. We can’t wait to visit Juneau again, and will book around her availability!

We could not have been more pleased to have chosen this spot for our week in the Juneau area. The evening we arrived, the sun. peeked out, we climbed in the kayaks out in front of the house, and we paddled around with porpoises, rainbows, and gorgeous mountain views. WOW. This place has everything you need and more - and in my opinion, the reason to come to Juneau is not the downtown, it's the gorgeous natural areas. So why not stay right in the heart of one? We are so glad we did!

Ela has truly thought of everything when furnishing this apartment. If we needed anything, she quickly provided (nutcrackers, for instance!). We hadn't seen our daughter in 19 months and having this lovely space to entertain her and visit with her friends was outstanding. Otter's Hideaway will always be our first choice when we visit Juneau. We look forward to staying with Ela and Mel again and again!

Ela we so enjoyed every minute of our visit. The views, flowers, berries, our time visiting with you, our walks along the waters edge and out to the island, and everything we would need or want inside the house was perfect. We went to Juneau to visit our daughter who lives in the area and wanted a place where we can spend time with her away from the main tourist district. This was perfect. The house was cute, clean, decorated adorably and Ela thought of everything you could ever imagine that you might forget. She went as far as to do some research before our arrival on 4th of July activities in town for us. The area is in a quiet Cove with a beautiful view. Plenty of activities right at the house. Mel was also a great host as well, such a cute and sweet dog. When we return to Juneau, we definitely will be contacting Ela!

Loved it here, the views are fabulous and it’s close to go into downtown. Ela has thought of everything, very thoughtful. It has everything you could need. Walk out to duck island and explore and great for wildlife. Highly recommended!
