We had a fantastic stay at Atypical Cabin! Clifftops is a beautiful community and loved the cabin! Our favorite part was the screened in porch with hanging swing and bed! We were only there 2 nights, so spent our full day at the lake. Loved having access to the canoe, kayak and paddleboard. Did not have time to use the pool, but what a gorgeous view! We could also bring our pup along, which was great. I would highly recommend this cabin and hope to visit again!

My wife and I lived on the school campus as my wife finished a seminary degree. We were moving off the mountain and still needed a place to sleep/work during the process. This location was perfect, close to the school, and exactly what we needed. Thank you!

My family had such a lovely stay at this cabin. It was exactly what we needed for our graduation weekend with our oldest daughter. The cabin is so easy to get to and in a great location. The screened-in porch was our favorite part! It was so serene and peaceful. We had a wonderful stay!

We stayed in this very nice, clean cabin for a family weekend trip and enjoyed it very much. It had everything we could have wanted. Kitchen supplies were plenty, enough seating for the 6 of us anywhere in the cabin and on the deck, comfortable beds, lots of books and games. The swinging bed on the back deck was so enjoyable. The deck was completely screened so no critters would crawl up on you when you slept or just sitting out enjoying family time. We took time out to go to the lake even though it was in April and a bit chilly. It was beautiful and we so enjoyed the canoe and beach area there. Very thankful the life jackets and paddles were supplied for us to use. The area is beautiful and we hope to come back to enjoy it all in warmer weather as they also have a community pool we can use in season. There are really so many amenities about this cabin but not enough room for me to list here. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had and were very nice to work with. I Wish we had more time so we could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful post Christmas stay at Atypical cabin! This was our second stay at the property, which was just as great as the first. Our hosts were always easy to get in touch with as needed and it is evident that they want to ensure the best possible experience for their guests. We love the peaceful surroundings and how convenient it is to restaurants and anything you want to do in the area. Thanks again for sharing your place with us!

Gale and Dick were the best hosts!!! Lovely cabin, warm fireplace, comfortable and clean. Lovely private cabin on the end of the cul de sac. Family gathering for Christmas was exceptional w the addition of the decorations that our hosts provided. So very happy we found this little spot for our family gathering. Looking forward to returning.

The cabin had everything we needed and is very cute. The fireplace and huge screened porch are awesome. Also loved the privacy and beautiful scenery. We will be back!

We mostly relaxed and walked our fur babies. My husband made a fire in the real firewood fireplace. We enjoyed the caverns for some Bluegrass entertainment for my husbands 50th birthday. I cooked us a few meals in the kitchen. Lovely neighborhood that is very tranquil and quiet. Did not get to enjoy the porch and amenities it was a bit too chilly. We would love to revisit and plan to in the future.

We had a great weekend in this little cabin located on a quiet street nestled in the woods of the extremely lovely Clifftops gated community. It was literally like having the pleasure of staying inside a private state park with comfortable accommodations. The screened in porch was a delight and we spent a great deal of time there enjoying the beautiful weather on the bench swing and reclining on the elevated porch bed. It is conveniently located between Main St. in Monteagle and the University in Sewanee. We found several nice walks in the area, enjoyed seeing the beautiful community lake, and had two incredible meals. (La Bella Pearl’s in Sewanee is not to be missed!) Top that all off with easy communication with our hosts, making this a perfect way to kick off the Fall season! Many thanks.

The porch on this cabin is wonderful. It was very hot over the 4th but all the trees made the porch comfortable all day, every day. It's a short drive to Sewanee for their family oriented holiday celebration.

The ATypical Cabin could not have been nicer. Beautiful wooded lot-very convenient to everything in Monteagle, huge screen porch, lovely Decor throughout, comfy beds, everything works!

Very nice cabin completely surrounded by woods & peace! The HUGE screen porch overlooking green woods was especially nice! It was a pleasure to spend a long weekend with easy access to Sewanee & Monteagle. The deck & porch were lovely spots for coffee, and my friends who came for dinner loved eating on the porch! My only regret is not having made time to take a nice, long nap on the swinging bed on the porch! The hosts are super to work with - even when I locked myself out!!

A typical has a good feel. The cabin is cozy and great for relaxing especially in the swing bed. As disconnected and serene as it feels you aren’t far from stores and restaurants.

The cabin is in a gated community and it's very private and quiet. Just 4 miles from University Ave in Sewanee. It is well equipped.

We were visiting to see a concert at the Caverns, and had a pleasant, relaxing and quiet reprieve from our busy lives in Birmingham, AL. The cabin suited our needs perfectly in size and offered all the comforts of home such as a kitchen with some essentials such as spices, cookware, and coffee, and plenty of linens and pillows. The screened in porch was the best part and where we spent the majority of our time when at the cabin. We also enjoyed the abundant natural light from the many windows and A frame structure gave it a lodge type feel. Our son enjoyed some down time too and the upstairs twin beds gave us all some privacy and separation. The cabin is surrounded by nothing but wildlife and woods; it was very quiet and peaceful. It was also a very short drive to nearby conveniences such as a Piggly Wiggly, gas stations, some mom and pop stores, and a drugstore, and typical fast food establishments (Pizza Hut is very close), all on the same main road W Main Street, which also you turn from to ATypical Cabin. Gail and Dick were most welcoming up to our arrival. We had no issues except for one time the gate code wasn't working but Gail answered our call immediately and addressed the problem promptly, even though it was almost midnight. We enjoyed seeing the area of Monteagle, surrounded by woodsy solitutd and a slower pace. We highly reccommend ATypical Cabin if you want the peace and tranquility of a cabin in the woods, with modern conveniences nearby.

I had such a great stay!! I was really taken with the area, and quite sad I couldn’t stay longer. Lots of mountain bike trails to explore associated with the near by University, I didn’t even scratch the surface. The paved Mountain Goat Trail runs right past Clifftops, and goes to Sewanee, a great little 5 mile ride with a nice college town to explore at the end. The cabin is conveniently close to restaurants, a grocery store, and the highway, yet it feels wooded and secluded. The renters were accessible and provided all information kindly and completely. In short, it was perfect. I loved the cabin itself, in particular, the screened in porch. It was heaven. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Atypical Cabin was the perfect spot for our family while we helped our daughter move out of her dorm. The cabin is at the end of a road and has a magical screened in porch complete with a hanging bed. Perfect location for visiting campus and access to other area amenities. We hope to stay here again!

Property was perfect for our visit to see our college son at Sewanee. Owners were responsive to emails, cabin was well stocked and felt very homey. We would stay again !

Perfect place for a quiet weekend getaway.

We were lucky to find this rental as we decided to go last minute. The cottage is great - very clean with all we needed in a great location. We look forward to returning.

It was very peaceful and cozy. Everything was ready to start a fire in the fireplace. The screened porch was perfect for relaxing. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. We will be back!

We recently stayed here for two nights. Though our plans changed, the cabin was just right for us. We loved how close it was to I-24 but it felt far away and was in a gated community. The cabin was surrounded by woods and it was nice being the last house at the end of the road. It was well stocked with everything we needed. It has large windows and porches (one open, one screened) with plenty of places to sit and enjoy nature. There are a lot of great hiking trails in the area and a grocery store nearby. Two things to note: the downstairs bathroom has no shower, only a tub. I didn’t mind at all and I love claw foot tubs. Also, though there are five beds, one is out on the covered porch and another is a Murphy bed in a room next to the main bedroom with the washer/dryer and no door separating them. We were just two people so it wasn’t a problem for us. The owners were wonderful to deal with and very responsive. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great place in a great location!

We had a great stay at Atypical Cabin! The porch is the best part, I loved having my morning coffee out there listening to the birds and rain. The perfect place to charge up for a day of hiking in the area. Great for nature lovers. I would definitely stay again!

It was a wonderful place to bring the family together for the holidays! We enjoyed our stay.

Communication with Gale was very easy, and she also let us check in early. From the moment we arrived, we felt all the coziness and comfort of a Rockwell painting. They even put up Christmas decorations for us! We used the fireplace every night. The kids loved staying in the children’s room upstairs which was stocked with classic toys and books. We can’t wait to come back in the warmer months to enjoy the porch. The location could not have been more convenient. We enjoyed the privacy and amenities of the neighborhood and the numerous hiking trails in the area. What a perfect little escape. We made some beautiful memories!

Even though we were scheduled to stay in another one of the host's cabins, an arrival day mix-up led to us staying in a different cabin. It didn't matter - the cabin we ended up staying in was just as lovely as the original cabin we had rented. The cabin was cozy and had all of the amenities we needed. We also think it is pretty hard to beat the Clifftops community - it's a gem of a community that offers tons of outdoor activities and beautiful scenery. Gale (our host) was extremely communicative and helpful. Overall lovely stay.
