Large clean home in rustic area but close to parks, shopping, art (“Storm King “). Every bedroom (6!) large and with private bathroom. Lovely.

We stayed at this property for a weekend gathering of college buddies who live scattered across multiple states in the northeast. The house was perfect for our needs, and was very spacious and well-equipped. One of the best features is that each of the 6 large bedrooms has its own bathroom. It was almost like having 6 hotel rooms inside a very large house -- everyone had their own bed and personal space and there was no excessive sharing of bathrooms required. Both dining rooms had large tables capable of seating us for eating and playing cards. At the time of my booking and the writing of this review the pictures of the property do not reflect some of the recent updates. For example, the outdoor patio has been hardscaped with pavers which is a nice upgrade from the crushed stone shown in the pictures. The West living room now has comfortable oversized brown leather couches with ample seating. All of the A/C units in the house were replaced this year and worked great to keep the house efficiently cool. The bar stools in the East kitchen have changed from what is in the picture. And most notable, on both the 1st and 2nd floors, doorways have been added to create a convenient pass thru between the East and West dining rooms and the upstairs East and West bedroom hallways. I was not expecting this and it was a pleasant surprise, making the full space of the house easily accessible without requiring any trips outside via the patio or front doors. You cannot see it in the currently posted pictures, but the 1st floor pass thru is located where there is a tapestry hanging in the West Wing Dining Room picture. The pass thru flows into the East Wing "Meeting Room/Wet Bar" (a.k.a. dining room/kitchen). The property has ample parking and is only a 5 minute drive into town. Joseph was great to work with and provided a walkthrough upon arrival to answer any questions. This is a great house and we will definitely consider this property again in the future if planning another gathering of friends.

We housed a large group at Joseph's place for a family reunion. The house was wonderful: 6 beds, 8 baths, ample common space, two kitchens, and -- perhaps the best feature -- an outdoor patio running the length of the house with tables and chairs opening onto a large yard bordered by woods where kids and family members could run and play in sight of the group. The location is quiet and private and close to many activities. Really an ideal spot for a reunion or (I'm sure) other group event. Caretaker lives on 3rd floor and RV out front, but ample parking in back/second entrance. Very happy with this spot and grateful to Joseph and family for providing this special place for our gathering.

The property was as described. Very clean very spacious and in a lovely secluded area with nearby stores and pizza :). Our main activity was in New Paltz and this house is in Pine Bush, we had to drive 30 minutes to get to the main activities but it was not that bad. VRBO, should be more forthcoming with the locations and not just general areas. But if you are going to Pine Bush area this is your place to stay.

We had an awesome weekend at the house for my sisters bachelorette party. Joe and family were super hosts and gave us some additional ideas to visit local wineries when it snowed the weekend we were there. We slept extremely comfortably and there was plenty of space for all! Thanks to Joe and family for a great weekend!

My whole family (12 of us) stayed for my daughter’s wedding and it was perfect. Big, clean, LOTS of bathrooms, nice secluded grounds. Would stay again.

We had a bachelor party here, with a bunch of gamers, it was a blast. There were several large tables and TVs for games. We loved that each room had a private bathroom and that there were plenty of seats to accommodate everyone. The owners were super nice and helpful. All the restaurants we tried locally were great too. The only negative was that the shower water was a bit sulfur-y smelling. It didn’t linger on the skin though. All in all everyone had an amazing time and we would definitely recommend this place!

This is a perfect house for a big group travelling and staying together. The kitchen has almost everything you can think of, from pots, pans to utensils, even condiments. And it's my first time to see a vacation rental house equipped with a kitchen-aid mixer. All the bedrooms are also spacious, double kitchen and living rooms really can fit in 15-20 people comfortably. The host Joe is also very nice to talk with. Highly recommend the property to large group travelling to the area.

Several couples and our young children stayed for the weekend. It's spacious, well-maintained, and unfussy. The layout is funny, with two full kitchens and living areas, but that was actually awesome for a multiple-family situation. The bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, which was the selling point for us. Joseph was very nice. The supermarket is less than 10 minutes away. There were a few small cons that didn't matter too much to us: (1) there were a few cobwebs and dusty corners, (2) some stuff had broken, worn out, or been lifted by previous guests (can opener, some cooking items, AUX cable for the stereos) and they don't do a regular inventory so it's not replaced, and (3) there's someone living in the house in an upstairs apartment. Overall, it suited our needs wonderfully and we would go back for another reunion.

We went for a bachelorette party. The property has a lot of area around it, ample beds for a large group. There are 6 bedrooms each with their own bathroom which was perfect for us. We had 11 people but there were easily enough beds for more than that without feeling cramped at all. The backyard is big enough and flat enough for games and gathering and the patio area has ample outdoor seating for a large group to eat outside. There are multiple wineries and great hikes pretty close by. Great location for a group.

My family met for a family reunion, and overall the place worked well. We had plenty of space, and it was convenient that every bedroom had its own bathroom and air conditioning control. The patio was a pleasure to use, and the back yard was nice. We particularly liked watching the trees twinkle with lightning bugs. The location was fine. You are a little out of town, but the drive is short enough not to be a problem. There are plenty of things to do in the area, but you should be aware that some things, like cider houses tend to be open only on weekends. The biggest problem we had concerned power and water. A line of very strong storms went through and knocked out power early one evening. When the power goes out, so does the water. No tap water, and you get one flush of the toilet using the water in the tank. We had people sweaty and covered with sunscreen and bug repellent who couldn't shower off and were not happy. The power came back after 5 hours, just before midnight, so it ended up being nothing more than an inconvenience, but after that but we had twinges of worry if thunderstorms approached. Most of the neighbors had generators, so power outages are not completely unusual. One more note for planning purposes: the upstairs bedroom with 2 queen beds has a couple big set of drawers, but no closet.

I stayed here for with a group of guys for a weekend. The house is unbelievable, there are more showers than you can even need and 2 refrigerators for anything you can possibly think of. The outdoor space was the highlight with a massive patio, lawn for games, and amazing grill. The owner is very responsive and personable. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.

Joseph and Mary Anna’s Hidden Cedar Inn was the perfect place for our 18-member family reunion weekend. Comfortable king-size beds, two kitchens, and lots of space to hang out both indoors and out. Would be happy to stay there again!

We stayed at this property due to its proximity to the wineries and orchards in the area. It’s a wonderful secluded location and we stayed during peak leaf weekend so it was beautiful! Each girl had her own room and we were able to prepare meals on the property

The property is very spacious and excellent for the 4 families who gathered. 10 - 16 ppl in/out the house for the 2 nights. The host greeted us upon arrival and give us a lengthy rundown of the house. However, during these Covid times, it would have been nice to know that the proper cleaning protocal was followed. Vinegar was used but it will not clean the virus, so suggest to bring your own cleaning supply if you rent this house. We cleaned the kitchen, light switches and tv remote with rubbing alcohol to be safe. Could have used additional dusting since there were alot of cobwebs around the whole house. If you plan to cook, the kitchen supplies are rather dated but overall, the huge space makes up for the minor issues. The appliances and bathrooms were in good order and for a large group, this house is ideal. Very secluded and quiet area and close to all shops and towns.

Exactly as advertised. More than ample space, land, baths for our party of 16 (and a small dog). I served as an excellent jumping off point for exploring wineries, orchards and the countryside. Several ancestors had lived in Ellenville and we were able to visit the old home and countryside that brought back priceless memories.

Manager was super nice. Nice secluded area and more than enough room for all of us!

We needed a big place where 9 adults could do a lot of cooking and entertain three little children with enough space for quiet activities, too. Hidden Cedars Inn was ideal - spacious, well-equipped, so comfortable and a beautiful location out in the country. The 6 bedrooms were lovely. The two full kitchens were excellent. The living and dining rooms really let us spread out comfortably. Many of us enjoyed day trips to the Angry Orchard cidery and the Tuttletown Distillery. All of us feasted on the wonderful brunch at the Borland House in Montgomery, which we learned about from the generous local info material at Hidden Cedars. Thanks to our host Joseph who was easy to communicate with and generous in his responses to our group!

This home is great for large family groups as each bedroom has it's on private bath. There are 2 gathering areas - 2 kitchens, 2 dining rooms, 2 family rooms. The outdoor patio has tons of seating and there is a nice fire pit in the center of the yard. Our only concern was that there is not a laundry room. We were only provided 1 towel for bathing for an 8 day stay. We were advised by the owner that we could go to the local laundromat to clean the towels (but who wants to spend their vacation at a laundromat?). So we ended up purchasing some towels at the store. We also had to purchase toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags as the supply provided only lasted 2 days. Overall this home is located in a great location to the Wine Trail, Angry Orchards and other sites nearby and also just a nice place to relax overlooking a woodsy retreat.

This was the perfect house for me and all my cousins to stay and make the wedding a cousin weekend. The house was perfect in every way. Even my dog had a great time.

This is a recently built home designed beautifully for a large family looking for a hideaway vacation in upstate New York. All bedrooms are as described with bathrooms and individual air conditioners. There is TWO of everything: two kitchens, two family rooms, two dining rooms, as well as a large outdoor patio and grill. The backyard is very large and includes a fire pit that we used two nights. Joe was a jovial guy who gave us a great introduction. Good property in a great place.

I organized a trip that included 15 grown men and could not be happier with my experience at this property. This house has EVERYTHING you need and more! There was plenty of room for everybody to sleep comfortably in beds. The owner made the check-in and check-out process seamless. I highly recommend staying at this house!

Spacious, very quiet area... bathrooms immaculate, great that each bedroom had its own bath and individual air conditioning. We had more than enough room to seat 25 people even with one dining table serving as the buffet table. Also plenty of outdoor seating. We would rent this place again.

We hosted a family reunion on this amazing property. Host was incredibly flexible and accommodating. 18 people stayed in house and it felt like we could have double that and still had a lot of space. Outdoor backyard easily accommodated a birthday celebration of 40 people. Backyard lawn was perfect for family volleyball and evening fires. Loved it! Many memories made and hope to one day come back.

First - cannot say enough about the host! Extremely friendly and welcoming and exceptionally responsive. The house is absolutely perfect for a large group - comfortabel and inviting. The backyard area is spaciaous and relaxing with a great view. The inside accommodations were exactly what we needed and having two kitchens made meal prep extremely easy. Do not pass on this opportunity to rent!

Our Party: Our party occupied all 6 rooms within the house which was able to accommodate parents with one or 2 kids per family. We arrived to celebrate the New Years and this place happened to be an ideal choice for our requirements for well-furnished, clean rooms with individual bathrooms, store large volumes of food, and allow us to comfortably spread out in the common areas while being able to enjoy quality time together when dining. The Rooms: All rooms are of good size and feature bathrooms; this was a priority for our group and we feel that this solves many issues when staying with large groups, especially, when there are kids in the party. All rooms are well ventilated, bright, and have wonderful views. The furnishings are focused on comfort rather than design. Having said that, we enjoyed the style and abundance of necessities. The pictures do not lie; therefore, I suggest you study them with care. The Common Areas: Well, this is actually one of the strongest points of the house if you have a large party (as ours) with well-behaved kids (as ours…lol) – you have 2 of everything: kitchens, dining areas, living rooms, extra half-bathrooms on ground level. This affords you plenty of separation for adults and kids, while still being very close to each other. The outdoor grill is terrific providing you with some additional cooking options. The house is clean, very well taken care of, and ‘homey’. The large dining table (2 of them) can accommodate groups with many guests and conveniently located in the center of the house. The Area: We have not had a chance to venture in the neighborhood or dine out, however, we were all pleased to be close to the main roads while being completely surrounded by the nature maintaining our privacy. The nearest skiing resort is about 45 minutes away and we had ventured there several times without spending any time in traffic. The grounds surrounding the property are vast and a pleasure to explore with kids or without. Your Hosts: All my communications for this property were handled electronically with Joseph. He is very prompt and precise with his responses, but most importantly, he had delivered on every request for our large party: propane gas for the outdoor grill, Christmas tree delivery and setup, etc. Highly Recommend his professionalism and punctuality on requests. Value: It is not cheap, but you get what you paid for.In our case, we immensely enjoyed staying at this house
