Wonderful property with an amazing view will be back when it gets warmer

We had a wonderful stay at the Fortress Cabin (Doves Rest Resorts). The management team was great and the entire process from booking thru check-out was seamless. The cabin was exactly as advertised and was so cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect, very close to all the hiking trails. It sits on the rim of the canyon and the views were spectacular. The entire property was extremely clean, including the hot tub and grill. The cabin and the rental experience exceeded our expectations in every respect. We will definitely recommend the Fortress to others, and we hope to return ourselves!

Property is lovely - great views. Plenty of firewood. Kitchen has lots of pots and pans - easy to cook here. And better still the concierge service made sure our groceries were in the house when we arrived. Good communication on directions and how to work the key pad for the house and the gate. We will be back!!

Amazing place. We really enjoyed views and how the property owners had thought about all the details. Very communicative and polite and we will probably stay there again someday.

I don’t know if I can come up with words to describe the feeling of walking onto the patio and seeing the view of Palo Duro Canyon. It is simply breathtaking! The weather was cool and we sat on the patio all evening enjoying the views then watched the stars in the sky. The beds were comfortable and the house was lovely. I will be recommending this house to everyone and we will be back!

The view was absolutely gorgeous. Pictures don’t do it justice. We loved the privacy and the peace and quiet, too. Great place to stay. Would absolutely recommend.

The view from the back patio is amazing, even better than pictures. The house was just as advertised. Hot tub has great after hiking. We loved seeing Mule Deer and Audad in neighborhood. Great memories.

Our stay at Fortress was pure pleasure. We were two couples in the house and the layout was great for us. There was nice separation between the two bedrooms and both bedrooms were spacious with their own bathrooms and large closets. Beds were extremely comfortable. The living area was very comfortable and as pictured. The house was well supplied, everything worked and was in very good condition. The outdoor area was also very comfortable and the amazing view was as pictured. A nice bonus was that the view from the living area faced East so we had beautiful sunrises over the canyon to enjoy while we were there. We had the ideal communication balance of feeling well looked after but also that we were given our privacy. The hiking was wonderful in the canyon and the cabin was just a couple of miles from the park entrance. An FYI for those who are coming to hike- we found the trail designations of moderate and difficult to be confusing. We hiked the Lighthouse trail, which is listed as moderate, and the the Comanche trails both listed as difficult and we all felt the Lighthouse trail presented more challenges than the two Comanche trails. Would love to return sometime and would absolutely stay at Doves Rest again.

Staying in the Fortress cabin was such an amazing experience. Having a full kitchen was perfect for us. Overall it is an awesome place to be away and reconnect.

Fabulous views of the canyon from the “Fortress” house. Very well equipped and clean house. Memory foam beds were comfy and really appreciate the purified water and wood provided for the fireplace. So convenient to Palo Duro! We will be back! Only issue was not receiving the check in instructions until a few minutes before arrival.

The four of us (all over 70) had a wonderful time at Dove's Rest in Palo Duro Canyon. We stayed at the Fortress and used the fireplace, the hot tub, and the kitchen every day we were there. It was a little windy, so we didn't sit outside much, but I think that area would be lovely in warmer weather. We had everything we needed for a lovely three days and did a couple of great hikes. We all highly recommend this location.

Loved it!

It’s hard to get teenagers excited about being outside and off their mobile devices. But from the moment we arrived the kids were in awe. The property is beautiful. The location is beautiful. We had a small issue with the propane tank, and Jeff came to the house within 5 minutes and switched out the tank. We will be back for sure!

Our 2nd time staying at doves rest. We love the property. Would like to have some bug spray as we had to kill 2 scorpions- us girls freaked out lol Beautiful place!

Everything about our stay was a wonderful blessing! The cabin and the views were amazing. The owners were responsive as we booked at the last minute and checkin was easy. We loved our stay at Doves Rest so much we are returning for a week long stay in the spring! We highly recommend this VRBO!

The property was great! From the view to the hot tub everything was amazing!

First, the view overlooking part of the canyon can't be beat. The house and its amenities are even better than described. It was just perfect.

The property has a phenomenal view and every amenity one could want or need. Beds are comfortable, the house is clean, and the privacy is relaxing.

This house was incredible! The VIEWS are breath taking! I would buy this place in heartbeat if it were for sale! Lots of wildlife to watch and very close to the entrance of the park. Go see the Texas Musical if you have the time, or watch the amazing sunset. The constant breeze kept it cool in the shade. Will definitely return!

Above and beyond wonderful in every way I can think of. Plus the owner / property manager was so kind flexible and attentive when needed for a change in date of stay, at the last minute. Will definitely return with friends!

The property is located on the rim of the Canyon with amazing views. We cooked a few meals for our 3 night stay both indoors and on the porch covered grill. The owner has provided everything you need. The hot tub was great with a wonderful view of the stars. The king size bed was very comfortable. The complimentary Champaign & sparkling cider with logo Champaign flutes to take home was a very nice touch. I would highly recommend staying here.
