This rental was perfect for a family vacation that coincided with my youngest son's wedding. The house was perfect to hold the rehearsal dinner as well as a place for the groomsmen to change into their attire. Only drawback is the City of Folly Beach being uncooperative and dishonest to our vendors, but that is not the fault of this rental. Just beware of the city if you plan to hold an event.

It was a great place for our wedding. We had 50 guests and it fit everyone nicely! We had a hiccup when we checked in but the landlord was very responsive and fixed it. Such a good open space with beautiful views.

We held our wedding at A Shore Thing and it was better than we could have imagined. The homeowner was communicative and easy to work with leading up to our event and our stay with family made the weekend so special. The sunrise/sunset views from the house are spectacular, we loved everything about the home and our stay!

The house is one of the coolest houses my family and I have stayed in. The floor plan and layout made sense and took advantage of beautiful ocean views.

We were here two years ago and returned for our family vacation. We were excited to come together yet again and was not disappointed. For a somewhat large group it was the perfect venue to come together when we needed to but yet enough space to not get on each other nerves. We’ve lost a few family members but having such a great place to come together again was awesome! Thank you and until next time.

Perfect spot for our wedding! We loved the location and the house itself.

We are a group of older couple who have been vacationing together for 20+ years. This was our first time at this location and i I can say is it was wonderful… the house, the location, the elevator… everything! We liked it so much we booked it again for next summer.

Overall great stay. The house could use a few more basics like bath towels and a few beach chairs or an umbrella would be lovely so we didn’t have to pack so much stuff. Things get pretty sandy. A few more rugs and tubs to wash feet would be great. Central vac didn’t work great. Having another vacuum or mop on sight to use would be nice. Overall the house was just as advertised and fit out needs well. The view is beautiful and the backyard is amazing. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This house was perfect and amazing. There were 16 of us and the house accompanied us very well. The kitchen was stocked with anything you might need. The screened in porch was large and enjoyed by everyone, especially the rocking trips. The kids especially loved the bunk room. The house is truly exceptional. And the beach is right in front of you. Best rental we have ever stayed in.

The perfect house for our wedding at the beach

The house was amazing and the pool table was a big hit. It accommodated our whole family perfectly. The yard was great for games and it was a perfect walk to the beach.

Lovely beachfront house, lots of room, close walk to beach, great windows and doors to enjoy beach even when inside. House was well stocked with things needed to cook and serve nice dinners. We love to keep the music going and the Sonos made it nice to put on tunes throughout the house. Host was great at answering questions quickly. Short ride to local eateries and shops. There was plenty of room on beach with private access. Charleston was quick 20-30 minute ride. Would definitely stay again!

It was the perfect place to host a family multi-generational vacation. The beach is very peaceful and plenty to do on Folly Beach and an east drive to Charleston.

Overall the was a great house for us. The layout and beachfront location were terrific. Loved the screened porch and open kitchen living area and the bunk room was awesome for the kids! That being said some of the furnishings and kitchen items did not seem up to par with a rental at that level. It did not seem thoroughly cleaned when we got there… the floors especially. We had access to a broom but no dust pan could be found . The beds were ok but the pillows were fair to poor. The towels supplied were very thin and small and while some things like dishes were well stocked, other things, like wine glasses were not. A couple of chairs were broken but usable. We had a great time and loved the place for the most part. The things that need to be addressed could easily be taken care of. The repeated beeping of the alarm that had to be reset every 8-10 hrs was quite annoying but at least it could be turned off for periods of time. I would recommend this house but hope that the property owner / manager would address some of the not ideal aspects of the property and make sure it is up to par on the things mentioned.

This property was perfect for our destination wedding. Enough room for our family to stay for several days and then have a beautiful wedding!! Can’t recommend enough

Excellent!

The host charged me $1000 for 'massive scratches' on the floor in the master bedroom. He claimed it was from moving furniture or having a dog in the room which we did not do either. At check-in, we contacted him regarding some other unrelated damages we saw so we were surprised by this damage charge as we are confident it was not from anything we did. Super unfortunate because it was a great property but I would not recommend it to anyone to book because of this experience.

We had a great time at the house. Perfect for multiple families. The host was very responsive and accommodating to our questions and needs. Plenty of bathrooms and privacy. We got married under the house due to strong winds on the beach but it worked well for our group. We did need to do some additional cleaning under the house and grill to prepare for the event but inside the house was clean. Definitely a special place to us now and would love to return! And would highly recommend for events and/or large groups and families!

The property and home was absolutely perfect. I truly appreciate how well the property manager communicated with me throughout everything. Very friendly and helpful. We used the property for a small wedding in the backyard and underneath the house. It was so beautiful and the set up was absolutely perfect. The house was incredible. I loved the balcony for each adult room. And the kids’ room with all the bunk beds work so well. Hope to go back someday!

We had our wedding here and this home was the perfect setting! Lots of room for everyone to stay as well as the setup of the home and backyard made this the perfect venue for a beach wedding. The owner is very responsive and helps out in any way he can.

We were so excited to find this listing! We are Charleston natives and wanted to host our wedding on folly beach. This place was perfect. We were able to spend the weekend at the beach with our friends and family in the incredible house with the most amazing views and enough space for everybody to be spread out. There are porches facing the ocean on every floor. Plenty of seating and clean, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. It was raining so we had our ceremony and reception in the garage downstairs and it was still beautiful. Ross was a great communicator and very patient with me as I had a lot of questions for him lol he was always there when I needed him! Can not say enough great things about “A Shore Thing”

The property was simply awesome, couldn’t ask for more and hope and plan to stay here for years to come!

Everyone had his own bathroom and floor. There were 7 of us; 2 children, 5 adults. There were several instances of beeping occurring, the most annoying of which was a very loud beep (think fire alarm) at 2:30 one morning due to loss of electricity. The owner was very responsive, and we were able to stop the beeping. I believe the beeping was due to the Arctic cold as well as the other alerts that went off. We enjoyed the grassy area very much as well as the beach. Each bedroom enjoyed spectacular sunrises. We would definitely stay there again.

"A Shore Thing" was the perfect place for my large family to stay as we were in town for our son's wedding. Close to the wedding venue and rehearsal dinner festivities, golfing for the guys, shopping for the girls and those early morning walks on the beach with the kids. This spacious home accommodated our friends and family to come together one last time for a breakfast the morning after the wedding. Everyone was very impressed, and I was asked to give a "tour" to the friends that came over. It was a wonderful place for our family coming from all over the country to stay.

The owner was just excellent to communicate with. We had our daughters wedding in his beautiful home. I could write more on how amazing the house, view, bedrooms bathrooms, game room etc was! But we used the underneath garage for our reception party. So weather was no issue! We had two days of bad wind and rain before the wedding. But the day of the wedding the day was perfect. The owner was so helpful. He allowed us to take our wedding items to the house early anc put in the garage while weather allowed. This was sooo helpful. He responded so quick to every little question. He was patient and understanding. Truly cared about our special day. I really recommend this location for family or friends time together or any event. The yard is perfect for a wedding or walk right out to the beach. Pictures turn out amazing. Definite 5 star!!!!

Beautiful views and porches. We love folly.

We had an extended family vacation here and had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and just as pictured! Very spacious and amazing views of the beach. The easy access on and off the beach was great! We will be back for sure! Host was easy to communicate with when we had questions and resolved any issues quickly. The only area for improvement would be having simple basics at the house. They supply bath towels but no soap, shampoo or lotions. They require you to start the first load of towels at exit but don’t supply laundry soap. Also there isn't a hair dryer in the whole house. I would have planned ahead had we known those items would be absent. Overall a great house, good time and amazing view!!!

Overall great house!! One of the ceiling fans on the porch wasn’t working but the set up was perfect for family vacation with small children!!!!

We utilized this property for our wedding on 9/16 and it was the most spectacular day. The wedding in the backyard was everything I envisioned and Ross was so helpful leading up to our stay. Although we hosted a wedding for 50 people in the backyard, we also stayed in the house with our family and had a mini vacation leading up to the wedding. The house is impeccably clean and managed. Ross was so easy to communicate with and very responsive. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and overlooks Folly Beach. The kids had a blast just walking out the back door to the beach. My dad is handicapped and utilized the elevator daily. Highly recommend A Shore Thing for your family vacation in Folly or event.
