Wonderful property

I stayed at this cottage with my husband and our dog for four nights. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed the setting directly on the water. It's truly a fantastic location and cottage and we're planning to return next year. Access was easy. The cottage was clean and tidy when we arrived. (There was a strong scent of air fresheners when we arrived, but were able to air it out.) There's plenty of comfortable seating. The kitchen was fully stocked and great for cooking. The grill area worked well. The bathroom was awesome; large, updated, plenty of hot water. The shower was very comfortable. The heated floors and sauna were such a nice perk. The lake and private beach were viewable from everywhere in the cottage. The view through the huge windows was stunning and exactly what we hoped for. The hammock trees were so enjoyable. The lofted bedroom was spacious and fine for us (both under 6') and includes a stunning view of the lake. The full size bed was comfortable and clean. The stairs up to the loft are steeper/narrower than standard and uncarpeted. We were fine navigating them, as long as we paid attention. Our active, 45# dog struggled with them and needed a spot when he went up and down. Definitely not enough of an issue to skip this cottage, but something to be aware of in case mobility (human or canine) is an issue. Overall, highly recommended!

This is a great quiet and peaceful property with amazing views. Close to so many beautiful hikes and shops... all no more than 30 min at most. Door County in the summer is wonderful but winter is also a must! Many things still open off-season!

Cottage is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures, and WOW, the view of the bay is spectacular! We had everything we needed and were so cozy for our winter visit. The hot tub wasn’t available to use (it’s positioned close to the beach and would be too frozen, it’s actually noted on the listing but we missed it before booking), but there were so many other things to do we didn’t mind. There’s a fantastic game room (shared with the other rental unit) with a pool table and a big collection of board games where we spent a lot of time. There’s also a private sauna, inside the unit we stayed in, great for warming up after a winter hike. Bed and couch were both soft and comfy, there are a lot of nice little hangout areas all over the house. The bathroom was also one of the best bathrooms I’ve seen in a vacation rental, with a huuuuge shower! It is worth noting that the stairs to the loft, where both beds are, are very steep and those with mobility issues may struggle. The location is also far north on the peninsula, so prepare to drive plenty. We had a stunning view of the stars at night though and lots of peace and quiet, exactly what we wanted! Recommend checking out Hügel Haus, it’s under 10 minutes drive from the house, and Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay is not too much further than that. Gretel and Dan were great hosts, communication was easy and they were so kind and accommodating! We were sad to go home, can’t wait to come back soon!

Great getaway for Christmas. LOVED the sauna , was hoping to use the hot tub on the water too, but must only be open in summer - will have to come back to try it! We cooked a lot and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed! The patio and bonfire pit were awesome. Amazing views- beautiful rocky beach. Our dog loved the yard, beach, and nearby parks !

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! The location is great, and we look forward to coming back when the hot tub is available for use, as we learned it is closed down for the season. It's a charming space and the view cannot be beat! There are skylights in the bedroom and larger living space, so bring a sleep mask if you are light sensitive. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and the addition of some blankets on the couch would make it even cozier in cooler weather. We look forward to coming back with friends so that we can share the two adjoining properties and meet up to play pool in the space between both properties.

Perfect lakefront getaway. Owners are super nice and responsive at any time. Everything from kitchen utensils to towels and sheets provided. Location can't be beat. Will for sure stay there again.

We recently stayed here for a long weekend. Everything was as advertised. The location is quiet and RIGHT ON THE WATER. We will go back for sure. Dan, the owner, stopped by to help us with the wifi as he lives just a few doors down. Highly recommend this property!

My normal spot was booked so I took a chance on this property and it was amazing. The view is wonderful and the hot tub and sauna added extra perks. The location was quiet but still close to everything. It was a great find.

Everything about our stay was flawless! From the paradise-like setting and amazing view to the remote-but-easily-accessible location. The bed was as comfortable as our own at home and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat in a few times. We greatly enjoyed soaking in the hot tub twice a day at the water’s edge, in fact we caught some beautiful sunsets from there! It was fun watching the boats and ships go by while we relaxed on the patio. The game room is very nice and we played a few games of pool. It was a short walk to the Shoreline restaurant and Charlie’s Smokhouse and a few gift shops with extremely welcoming owners. Even though Sister Bay is only 10 minutes away, we felt at all times like we were really “off the beaten path”. The stairway up to the loft is somewhat narrow and steep but it wasn’t a problem for us. Our trip was amazing and we would definitely stay here again!

The property was just outstanding!!! From the hot tub at the lakes edge, to the hammock. We would have been happy without ever leaving, but there is just so much to see and do all within 20 minutes. From sunset cruise to just sharing a bottle of wine at the restaurant that is maybe a 2 minute drive. We will definitely be returning, and will be staying here again.

Dan and Gretel are excellent hosts. They are responsive, the house is extremely clean and they provide many, many things to do. There are kayaks, paddle boards, bicycles, pool table, hot tub and many board games. Plus a wonderful patio with a fire pit and grill station. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

It was our second time staying here, and we have absolutely loved it!!! The host is very gracious. We have collected wonderful memories throughout our stay! Would love to come back!

Lovely home and property on the water; enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Our three-night stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The house is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The view of the lake is stunning. We enjoyed using the paddleboards, bikes, hot tub, sauna, firepit, and pool table. Dan was very friendly and did a good job ensuring we had everything we needed. Overall, this was a great place to stay, and I can’t wait until next summer when we return.

The property was very clean and perfect for us. The stairs up to the loft are very steep but we didn't have too much trouble. Our dog loved the yard and we spent some time in the hammock. Unfortunately we had rainy weather our entire trip so no sunsets, but just being on the water was so nice. It's a quick 7 minute drive to a coffee shop and a couple of restaurants: Sister Bay is 15 minutes away with a lot more options. There were people staying in the connected unit, but we only heard them in the shared garage. It was very private. Overall we would stay here again!

Enjoyed our 3 day stay at the cabin. Located within 15 minutes of our favorite places near sister bay and far enough north it was quiet as can be. Great garage for entertaining and a bathroom with sauna that looked like it was out of the future. Only things I’d note is the shower was a bit cool even when turned up hot and bedroom is in a loft up some fairly steep stairs, so be prepared for that if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Views though are incredible, right on the bay!

We stayed at this property for the second time and it is a great experience both the acommodations and the host. The view is unreal!!!

The views are incredible. We traveled the world and this was the place with the best view of sunset directly from the property backyard. We enjoyed the bon fires in the evening watching the sun set, convenient grilling station and spent hours relaxing in the hammock listening to the waves 50 feet away. The bathroom is renovated and has a full size sauna! The bedroom loft is so cute, full size bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The hosts were great and we enjoyed meeting one of them in person. We cannot wait to plan another trip.

It was very cold and windy during our stay, but that didn't matter because the cottage was so cozy. We enjoyed the gorgeous views from the warmth of the indoors.

Would not change one thing about our stay. The area was quaint and welcoming. I spent hours being entertained by the ever changing lake. My dog loved the big yard, and we played fetch all day.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We brought our dogs and had a great time! The cabin and property are absolutely beautiful and is very conveniently located. We will definitely be back!

This property is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. The bathroom is so nice (there’s a sauna!) and everything is clean and cozy. Gretel and Dan were very kind and attentive. The property is two units, but both have privacy and you cannot hear/see each other during the stay. The best part was watching our city dog have zoomies all over the yard. Incredible place. We will be back. -Your friends from Ukraine❤️

The property was beautiful but due to cloudy conditions, did not get to see the western sunsets. The home was lovely and met our needs. We didn't expect to have neighbors next door but ended up becoming friends around the fire pit our first evening! We would consider coming back again for sure.

We just had a blast. What an amazing sunset and property for our family to unwind and relax.

We really enjoyed our time here.

This property is a great space to enjoy everything Door County has to offer and still be able to step away to enjoy the beauty of the nature the area has.

This property exceeded my expectations! Such a fabulous location and so many amenities. It is a great place to stay for easy access to the Washington Island Ferry, and Peninsula and Newport state parks. And to get away from the hustle and bustle of DC tourists. Highly recommend!

Great location, nice having some toys to play with in the water. I little tight for 2 couples, but the location made it worth it.

Home needs some TLC, , update furnishings and install a dishwasher. Smoke detector was sitting on table, so that was a bit concerning. Very nice setting and very quiet.

The property was amazing. The beach was right in our front yard. The property owners were very nice. Plan to go again!

The place was absolutely amazing! The view of the setting sun and reflection on the lake was magical! One of our favorite things to do during our stay was evening kayaking where we were able to watch the sunset. The kids really enjoyed swimming in the lake and also relaxing in the hot tub. As my 12 year old daughter said “it was paradise!” 🤩 The inside of the house was very nice, cozy, and the kitchen was well equipped. The hosts were very kind and thoughtful and allowed us to have a wonderful time! So excited to come back!
