Well cared for and equipped home in an incredible setting. Thoughtful amenities like binoculars to view wildlife helped us admire visitors like the red tail hawk that perched in front of our windows one afternoon. Seeing a large heard of Roosevelt elk nearby was a highlight of the trip. Walking the property we heard the thrumming of grouse. The location right outside of the National park is ideal and the mountain/river view can’t be beat. This is a large enough home to host two families with good size kitchen and dining area. The shuffleboard is a hoot. I was here with a group of friends but plan to return with my family. Thank you so much for the fantastic stay.

Magical Wilderness area. Wonderful air and sounds. Tons of birds from eagles to geese to owls and gulls. A bit hard to find the river path. Home was inviting and warm. Kitchen loaded with everything you need to cook. Great beds and bathrooms. The hot tub only ever got to 97° which was a little disappointing.

Rick was very responsive. There are some appliances that need fixing—dishwasher, dryer, lamp in one of the bedrooms. Despite that, very much enjoyed our stay. Can’t really imagine a better view.

This property has a wonderful view of the mountains and river valley and was inspirational. The home is open and inviting, clean and comfortable and designed with the environment in mind. We appreciate having been able to spend time with visiting friends in such a lovely location.

This place is unbelievable! I would retire here in a second. Amazing you of Mount Olympus with beautiful trout stream below. Perfect stay for hiking Hurricane Ridge. Nicest place I've ever rented!

The house was perfect and view was priceless. I wish we had more time to just stay and relax more. Rick was awesome! Hopefully, some day we will get back again.

Our family of 6 included parents, 2 adult children and spouses and one 15 month old. We are veteran rental home travelers and this one was one of the few that looked exactly like the photos and met the description. The huge windows overlooked the river below as did the hot tub and very large outdoor patio and fire pit. We loved the location — close enough to town but even closer to all the hiking we wanted. We loved staying here. The only problem was that the well is shared among several homes and we ran out of water several times until the well refilled. However, timing of showers and laundry was an easy workaround. The owner said a new tank was being delivered next week. We’d definitely stay here again. The owner was incredibly responsive and friendly.

Rick was a wonderful host & his Cabin on the Elwha River was truly a glimpse of paradise! The River House was a perfect place for my group of 7 - including spouse, or young adult sons & a few of their favorite people. The cabin exceeded our great expectations when we saw the beautiful new huge patio that surrounds the fire pit, hot tub, 2 great tables & chaise lounge. Many photos on website show grass outside rather then this gorgeous high end multi-textural patio. Everything we could think of was in the kitchen & the nice grill had a full tank of propane. One night, we talked to Rick about making the local Dungeness crab for our own crab dinner & he immediately offered to prep it for us. He was awesome! It was delicious! His lil doggy Small was our official mascot during our trip! He is a darling mini dachshund with the best personality! He made us all smile! I would definitely recommend Rick & his beautiful River House to my friends & family that visit Olympic National park! I hope to be back again!!

Our stay was fantastic, and the only thing we would change is to stay for longer. Mr. Lustig takes great care to maintain an accommodating and impressive property.

This was an incredible home with a spectacular view of the river and snow capped mountains. The house is spacious and had four bedrooms. We especially enjoyed the fire pit while enjoying the view at the end of our long days exploring the area. We even saw several elk and deer crossing the river. I would stay here again for sure!

This is a very special spot. For us, it was the perfect base for excursions. And the best part was that the view and patio area were so beautiful that when we just wanted to hang around the house it was still like taking a nature excursion! Loved it.

The setting was fabulous, easy access to Olympic National Park and very comfortable home. Rick, our host, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here.

Such a beautiful place! The house was clean, open, well spaced out and even better than the photos. There were plenty of supplies (tp, dishwasher cubes, paper towels, etc). We loved relaxing in the hot tub, eating outside, grilling and listening to the river. In the evening we took a ride up Herrick Rd and saw lots of deer. The big windows let you admire nature as soon as you were up for the day. We made good use of the cooler and yoga mat. Thanks for those extras! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Very clean, serene, quiet, gorgeous view, lovely big open living space. A well equipped kitchen and all we needed for a comfortable and happy five day stay.

We weren't sure the house and views could live up to the booking photos, yet they surpassed our expectations! Wow! Every one of us had the same reaction. The house absolutely met our needs and was a true joy to have as a base location. It had everything we could need, was clean and well appointed. The host made the process seamless and as smooth as anyone could wish for. We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to return.

My friends and I enjoyed this home so much! It was so spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It was great to each have our own bedroom and bathroom. The views were breathtaking, especially from the hot tub, which we enjoyed relaxing in. Rick was a great host and made sure we were all covered. We would definitely come back again!

River House is a perfect spot to take in the magnificent beauty of the NW. Quiet, restful place with everything you need to feel at home.

What a great place to stay! The home is gorgeous and spacious with incredible views! Really close to hiking trails then use the hot tub afterwards! The home is well stocked for most of your needs and Rick was a great host! Hope to come back again someday!

Ample space for all family members- close proximity to multiple hikes and nature but still close enough to Port Angeles to obtain supplies. Overall, great stay!!

This was a great house for our family of 7 - 3 kids age 5 and under plus 4 adults. The location was perfect for enjoying time in Port Angeles and Olympic National Park. The house was very comfortable and the outside patio was terrific for relaxing, enjoying the view, and comfortable conversation around the fire pit or in the hot tub.

Amazing property with exceptional view. Feels really secluded (even though owner's residence is near by it is not intrusive at all and still feels very private). The outdoor space is top notch...hot tub, picnic table, fire ring and the VIEW!!! Nighttime stars were exceptional and we saw numerous birds and deer. The riverhouse is extremely spacious with numerous bathrooms. Many people can stay here and not feel crowded. The interior also has an amazing view. Well stocked. Clean. We were greeted on arrival by the owners very sweet friendly dog. The drive to nearby town is not bad at all. Overall worth every penny and then some! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away!

Great space for family. Patio and view are awesome. Location was great for a wedding we attended on lake Crescent and some hiking up the national park road.

My wife, some friends and I stayed at this amazing property a few miles outside of Port Angeles. Rick was awesome and his property is awesome as well. We all agreed we’ve never had a better view from a rental house. Rick and his weiner dog were the best hosts we’ve ever had. Will stay again and recommend to others!

We went on a 2 week Pacific Northwest road trip, staying in different VRBOs along the way. This house was by far the best! The views from the back patio are unbelievable and the house itself has so much to offer - high chair/pack and play for young kids, hot tub, beautiful new back patio, and a fully equipped kitchen. We loved our stay here!
