Clean comfortable cabin giving our family space to spread out. Pretty small basic bathroom but very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed since we don’t do a lot of cooking on vacation. The deck and view are what make this place truly special!!! So much more beautiful than we were expecting! Loved staying here!

The Pacific Northwest (PNW) is awe inspiring with its water-to-mountains views. My family and I explored much of western Washington recently and we chose this property as our accommodations for the North Olympic Peninsula portion. We loved how quiet it was sitting right at the edge of the lake. The outdoor space was amazing as we could eat outside and enjoy family time around the fire pit. The kayaks were nice to go around the lake and enjoy the beauty. Inside the rustic feel of the property was charming, and the kitchen was good size. A couple of notes: The only bathroom is downstairs near the back door. Both bedrooms are upstairs (which are steep) making middle of the night trips interesting. The second bedroom doesn’t have a door, so privacy is a bit reduced. Arriving at the property is on a private road so be sure to pay attention if arriving in the dark as we did. Overall we loved the house and location and built many wonderful memories. It is convenient (~20 minutes) to Port Angeles for those wondering.

We absolutely loved the view from the deck! The house was very comfortable (just beware if you’re super tall in the bedrooms, as they are slanted ceilings). The house had all we need and was a perfect location to Olympic. Highly recommend!

This cute little cottage was perfect for our little getaway. Super clean, and well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy the lake. The kids had a blast paddling in the kayaks. Strongly recommend this little place - it’s amazing. Great location to hit all the highlights of Olympic National Park or just to hang out and enjoy Lake Sutherland.

We loved this location and VRBO. Whether sitting on the deck, lounging in the living room by the large windows, or kayaking on the lake, you can watch the mist rolling through the trees and the reflection of the sky in the smooth water. We were there end May-early June, so there weren’t many vacationers in the area yet - it was quiet. The water was too cold to swim yet, but we had no problem getting our legs and feet wet to get in and out of the kayaks. The lane to the house appeared a little precarious when we first saw it, but we had no problem driving it (and we’re scaredy cats!). Very peaceful.

The property was beautiful and the view was amazing. The home was so cozy and we had everything we needed. We plan to come stay again next year!

We enjoyed this bear themed lake front home. It was clean and so peaceful and cozy. It’s in fabulous location to go on quick hikes as well an easy drive into Port Angeles for groceries and restaurants. We hope to come back when it’s warmer to fully enjoy the lake.

Cozy, clean and comfortable. Amazing view and great location - close to beautiful hikes in the Park and not far from Port Angeles for shopping/restaurants. Very nice host. We saw multiple Bald Eagles and a sweet duck family visited us every day, which the kids loved. The master bedroom is especially cozy and the bed was very comfy, slept like a baby. The other 2 beds are low to the ground but perfect for the kids. Great movie collection. The house is older, so a little rustic/basic, no dishwasher and a bit of a trek to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but I'm giving 5 stars because we all enjoyed ourselves so much. There's a little general store for necessities right up the road and the nearby Granny's Cafe has great burgers and shakes. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time I’ve been out to lake Sutherland and the first in this rental. It was great. Good size, comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed!! It was great!

Property was as described/represented. We stayed during off season, so it was remarkably quiet and light on traffic. Could not have asked for a more peaceful experience with the exception of highway noise from across the lake during morning coffee. I do recommend this place and would choose to stay again if in the area.

The cabin was scrupulously clean and right on the water. But the description didn’t say that BOTH sleeping areas are up a flight of steep stairs, while the only bathroom is on the main floor. That arrangement is very hard for anyone with mobility issues or anyone who needs the bathroom in the middle of the night. Also the fireplace and the heater in the kitchen/dining area didn’t work, so the main floor rooms and floors were quite chilly. The upper outdoor deck was icy and very slippery (not the owners’ fault of course), so not useable. There is an outdoor fire ring but there was no wood to use. This might be a better place to stay in the warmer months when you can take advantage of the outdoor spaces like the deck and can paddle on the lake.

Beautiful fall weekend on the lake. VRBO was just as depicted on the web site! The house was very comfortable for us. We were able to moor boat at the house and enjoy fishing on the lake. We also enjoyed a hike along the Elwha River.

This property was perfect for my and my husband’s visit to Olympic National Park! The cabin itself is so cute and the lake is gorgeous. It was perfectly situated close to Port Angeles and as close as you can really get to all the best parts of the park. Would highly recommend to others!

We had the fortune of staying during fall and had amazing views of the colors changing. You could spend the entire day admiring the views from both the rocking chairs outside and the lounge chairs inside. Would 100% recommend and hoping to be back soon! Loved the kayaks on such a peaceful lake. Easy access to Olympic Natl Park and Port Angeles. House was cozy and the bed was very comfortable.

This place was outstanding! We absolutely loved our time in this home. It was just perfect proximity to everything we wanted to see. And the owner, Cherrie, was incredible in answering all of my questions. My husband says this is his dream home!

Our stay on the lake was so peaceful and serene - we loved it! Kitchen is well-equipped and the cabin was very clean. Location was very convenient for hiking in nearby Olympic National Park. There is ample room on the deck for relaxing during the day and star-gazing at night. It should be noted there is no bathroom for the upstairs bedrooms, which wasn't a problem for us but might be for some. For us, it was a bit cool for jumping in the lake and using the 2 nice kayaks, but it's great they are available. Overall, a very nice place for getting away and enjoying nature. Definitely would stay again and recommend.

We had a wonderful time! The views were breath taking. Bed was comfy and my pillow was amazing! We kayaked which was a nice amenity. Grilled steaks and had frozen margaritas to end our evening. Would definitely go back.

We live in Sequim and always stay out at Lake Sutherland but this was the best cabin we have ever stayed at. We really loved the layout of the house and the awesome docks right on the lake to jump off of. We looked forward to staying here next summer!

We really enjoyed our stay and it had all the comforts of home. The view every morning was amazing, comfortable recliners facing the window that looks out onto the lake. Thank you for sharing this cabin with us!

Perfect summer stay for family of 4. Everything was thought out including life jackets for kids! This is about 25 min from Port Angeles so bring your groceries to cook!

My family just finished our 8 day stay at this awesome lake house! It’s an adorable A-Frame house with one bedroom + a loft with two more beds. It was the ideal size for our family (mom, dad, daughter (6), son (4), and baby (8 months). It’s a great location, but it is remote. Plan to grocery shop and stock up! We made tons of memories swimming, jumping off the high deck, and kayaking. Olympic National Park is stunning and we are thrilled with our time spent.

We loved our stay on lake Sutherland! The views were gorgeous and we loved spending all day out on the deck and in the water. The cabin was comfortable, and we had fun picking out movies each night from the large VHS collection. We had a great time!

Overall good location and family enjoyed it. Here is the summary . 5+ star for location 5+ star for ammenities 3 star noise ( neighbors did fireworks till 1am on july 5th/6th and impacted sleep quality).Sound reflect and got amplified. 3 star for cleaniness of towel ( didn't smell fresh) 3 star for online listing accuracy. This property doesn’t have dishwasher . It was late communication that if you leave dishes uncleaned there were extra cleaning charge . We ended up doing dishes with hands on vacation & birthday that we didn't do in last 20+ years at home on birthday( we have dishwasher all the time).
