Wonderful stay!! The house staff could not have been more helpful and kind. They were more than accommodating and the property was amazing! Just like the pictures. The beach out front was a wonderful surf spot and we enjoyed the sushi and drinks from just down the road! Great family vacation spot, we will be back!

We had the most wonderful family vacation at Casa Olivia recently. This fantastic home is located right on the most beautiful beach. We loved the outdoor areas and the pool. The manager was a great help before our arrival and the staff on-site were wonderful. The meals cooked by Kimberly and Evelyn were highlights of the trip. We can’t wait to return.

This property was ideal for our family reunion. We were able to rent this house and the property next door through the same owner and it was great! The staff was great and attended to our needs. The location was great and we love the house being right in the beach with easy access. The area was quiet. We would stay here again.

This property was hands down the best experiance, Steps to the beautiful beach, fun town to walk too, House was very clean, Kids surfed and buggie boarded every day, The staff was all so wonderful and we will miss them!! Thanks for one of the best family vacations!!! Lots of great memories.

Our stay at Villa Olivia exceeded our expectations in almost every area. The view of the pristine beach, open-air concept, and upscale feel of the rooms and common area were absolutely amazing. The staff was outstanding with Kimberly leading the way as cook and primary contact person during our stay. She made several excellent breakfasts including empanadas on our last day along with an amazing Lasagna dinner during the week. We would certainly recommend that you touch base with Kimberly when you arrive to plan meals and arrange grocery shopping. Because of the security guards who patrolled the grounds from 6pm to 6am our group of 10 felt perfectly safe in this spectacular Villa that served as our home for 5 days after having spent 2 days in the La Fortuna area. We did a day trip into Tamarindo and are so glad we didn’t book our lodging there as the nightlife was less kid and family friendly than the beeches and community of Playa Grande. Be sure to walk to the black sand beach, get a massage, take surf lessons, and do a night beach walk to see the Milky Way in all its glory. The bedrooms were all well decorated and roomy with comfortable beds. The cold air conditioning offered a much appreciated reprieve from the hot and humid weather. We visited during the rainy season but, other than evening showers, had very little rain. The villa had just been remodeled prior to our visit and the attention to detail in creating warm and welcoming views and egress for a smooth flowing transition from indoor air-conditioned common areas to the huge covered porch and balcony make this Villa one of the best houses on the beach. There are numerous hammocks and rocking chairs that allow for hours of relaxation while watching and listening to the waves crash. The pool is somewhat small but perfect for cooling down and rinsing off after playing in the ocean. The only issue we had during our stay was that the hot water heater servicing the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms was never able to keep up. Jeffrey, the caretaker, did his best and made several repairs during the week but the small size of the water heater meant that many of us ended up taking showers in the two downstairs bathrooms. Again, a small issue but inconvenient nonetheless. Overall, we would highly recommend Villa Olivia for groups of 10-15 people who are wanting a quiet and relaxing ocean front luxury experience. You won’t be disappointed!

We had a fantastic time. Could wake up and walk out to the waves first thing and the staff was so nice and we felt very safe. Would highly recommend it. You can walk all the way to Tamarindo if the tied is low in like 45 minutes.

This was our family’s 3rd time staying. It was wonderful to pull up and be greeted by familiar faces: Jose, Jebry, and Kimberly, who have been there for years. The house is clean and beautiful. The beds are comfortable and all 3 families agreed we would all stay here again.

We loved the area and the staff. Had a chef prepare an amazing meal. The only bad thing is the city is about a 30 min drive if you want to go shopping or get to the ATM. The property and house was amazing. We would definitely go back.

We had 13 people staying at Villa Olivia for a anniversary celebration, we enjoyed the private beach, the large house with many amenities, and the house staff was lovely! We were able to keep in communication with property staff when we needed things, and Kimberly the book made us some amazing meals. Julie the property owner was also able to help guide us to some information on local activities. We would definitely recommend Villa Olivia to large families wanting the peace of a private beach with close drives to local activities.

Finally after 2 years of cancellation due to COVID we finally made it to Costa Rica and Villa Olivia in April 2022. What a great place. View was great, the food was great and the accommodations were perfect. We had two families of 4 and still had one room empty. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel safe and comfortable. Playa Grande is the perfect mix of quiet and beauty but with plenty of nearby adventure. We experienced Zip Line, Catamaran Cruise, Surfing, and even saw baby turtles hatch and make there way to the Ocean. Working on getting back sooner than later

We had an amazing week at Villa Olivia with our group of 15. The space is great, with lots of indoor and outdoor places to be. Kimberly prepared dinner for us and every meal was delicious. The beach and ocean were great for exploring, swimming, and surfing. Lots of fun for all ages from 9-50+

It’s on the beach… what more can I say. Plenty of room, great town and location. We loved it.

Easy check in, excellent communication, lovely staff, large floor plan with plenty of room to spread out, fully stocked kitchen, perfect beach location.

We waited an extra year (like everyone else because of the pandemic) to take this trip, and it was well worth the wait! We were 8 adults, and there was plenty of room for us, everyone had privacy, it was so great to have the beach so close for those who love the beach. We had Kimberly cook a few meals for us, and they were all delicious. We wanted to bring her home to cook for us! She was also so helpful with whatever small problems we had. Everyone we came in contact with during our visit was friendly and helpful. We used YouAreCostaRica for a couple of tours, and Mariana was the best to work with! I highly recommend using them if you are in the area. If I never take another vacation I will never regret taking this one, and I would definitely come back here again!

We loved our stay at Villa Olivia!! The beachfront location, very comfortable rooms set up for couples and singles, wonderful staff for cleaning/cooking/security/maintenance, close proximity to walk to restaurants and shops in beautiful Playa Grande, all made for an outstanding time with friends.

We absolutely had the best time at Villa Olivia!! The house was beautiful, with plenty of room for the 13 of us! It had everything we needed from beach towels, to boogie boards, to laundry and cooking service if we wanted. The property was amazing. Gorgeous gardens and views, with such a relaxing atmosphere. The house staff were so helpful and friendly, from showing the kids baby turtles making their way to the ocean to opening coconuts for us to drink! We felt safe the entire time! We didn’t want to leave and will hopefully be back again soon! ¡Pura Vida!

Very comfortable and convenient villa located on a great beach. The rooms are spacious and well distributed, the location cannot be any better at the end of this wonderful beach and the staff is very helpful. All that helps spending some good time.

The beachfront house is beautiful. Kimberly, Jebry, Jose and the other helpers kept the house and property beautiful and everything functioning perfectly. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook any meal. The views are unreal; the beach is huge and pristine and the waves are perfect for the average body/boogie boarder. Lots of surfers near the rocks as the tide rises and the waves get bigger but they stay in their area so they're no issue. We absolutely loved the week in paradise!

House is a touch dated, but amazing layout, tons of room!!! The rap around decks were out standing!!! Jeffery, Kimberly,Jose and the rest where awesome. Kitchen and BBQ area where great as well, kitchen has AC!!! THE VIEW AND LOCATION ARE ALL!!! TIME!!!!

This was a wonderful family vacation in the best spot of Playa Grande. Everything was perfect: we loved the house and it’s location. We loved spending time together in a home setting and loved the privacy it allowed us while being in such close proximity. My children and grandchildren felt safe and secure while enjoying the wonderful Playa Grande. The staff was attentive in the background and made us feel at home. All of us loved the “off season” weather that afforded us quiet and privacy. Overall this was the perfect vacation and we are looking forward to coming back.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the house. The location is perfect - right on Playa Grande, which is huge, and this section is not busy at all. The beach is full of seashells and it’s a very pretty beach with nice waves for boogie boarding. There are tons of crabs on the beach and some make it near the house - some kids could be scared of this (my kids were fascinated). The house has tons of space, comfortable beds, and each room/bathroom is a little different design/layout. The AC worked amazingly well in all rooms and is much needed at the beach. There’s a big porch facing the beach and an upstairs balcony. Several hammocks to relax in. The layout of the home would not work for small children - each room has its own entrance around a courtyard - but for extended families, friends, older kids - it is great. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. Just a lovely relaxing beach house and we would be happy to stay here again.

We had a great stay at Villa Olivia. Loved the location. Beautiful beach. Plenty of space for everyone to hangout together or chill on the hammocks. Plenty of sitting areas. The beds were comfortable. Extra fridge was helpful to have for drinks. This is minor but we didn't have enough beach towels considering we had 15 people. Another minor item was the lack of a kettle to boil water for the tea drinkers. We used a pot to boil water so not a big deal. Our cook Kimberly and her helper were very kind and prepared good food. So were the rest of the house crew, from the gardener to the security guard. Lovely people. The only bad experience we had through our process from the time of confirmation through the checkin was the lack of communication from the property manager. The property manager was just not good at replying to emails or messages through out the process. And even when she did reply after severals days or weeks, she didn't answer all the questions we had. Our cook Kimberly was more helpful with our questions after checkin. Julie, the property owner was pleasant to deal with and was much more attentive and responsive than the property manager. Having said that, we all had a great time and kids had a blast swimming in the ocean and cooling off in the soaking pool. We would definitely consider staying at Villa Olivia again. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who's considering this property. Just keep in mind the communication challenges with the property manager.
