A great property further enhanced by the facilities at the Balmer Lawn Hotel. Ideally located in the centre of the Forest giving easy access to most attractions. We will certainly be going back!

We had a really relaxing weekend, the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming, food at the hotel was delicious. It was a good place to stay with my dogs, because there are plenty of places to walk them. I would recommend this place to stay Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely cottage, very good location. We enjoyed our stay very much but a few niggles, one major. Minor - no vacuum and we were there for 5 nights. Didn’t look in the garage so didn’t find the washing machine! Two slots in the toaster didnt work- prefer toast on both sides! Kettle - hot drinks tasted awful unless we ran the water a bit, emptied the kettle and rinsed it out. Seating for 5 in the sitting room, sleeps 6-8 Major - advertised as ‘pet friendly’, no mention that pets are only allowed in the kitchen diner, not the sitting room or bedrooms. Bedrooms yes, but sitting room, especially as it has a dark carpet and dark leather furniture? I have to confess I hadn’t read the reviews. The owner’s reply to one review was its appreciated by visitors without dogs. Yes but it’s advertised as friendly to visitors with dogs! Deep in the information pack is a threat to charge £250 for a deep clean if there was a ‘trace’ of dog hairs in the wrong places - not made clear at the time of booking. Any dog owner will know that dog hairs get on clothes and then go everywhere! We book cottages at home and abroad so don’t expect everything to be perfect but I can’t pretend that worry over leaving even a trace of our dogs didn’t affect our enjoyment. The Cottage was perfectly located in the New Forest. The cottage was advertised as "pet friendly" but was told on arrival that dogs could not go on any areas with carpet which included the lounge. After a long day out it would have been nice to relax in the evening but we had to sit on the wooden chairs at the dining room table with the dogs. The suite in the Lounge to be fair was very uncomfortable so it would be nice to see an improvement on that front. Despite the above the cottage was very nice. Excellent accommodation for a family holiday, brilliant for dog owners with a secure garden and walks on the doorstep. Hotel gym, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and lounge bar made it feel quite special and fantastic for small children

Lounge sofas. Garden furniture and kitchen dining chairs not at all comfortable. Access code for garage didn't work and garden parasol broken. Both of these faults were reported to Balmer Lawn Hotel reception. Neither were rectified during our stay. This cottage is not suitable for more than 6 people. Will not be booking this particular cottage again .
