This house ( and host) was wonderful. Fully stocked with games, books, and even shampoo, conditioner and body wash! Detailed info from host, and easy walking distance to stores and restaurants, and of course, the beach. The beach was fabulous— no crowds ( October is a great time to visit Tybee).

This is a perfect place to stay! Close to the beach and nice space for family games and puzzles!

We were two families vacationing together with children ranging from 2.5 years to 14 years old. There was a total of 10 of us and our two dogs. Our trip was in October, so the island population was down from the holiday rush and everything was so peaceful and beautiful. The beach was super close and the restaurants, gift shops, and arcades were a very short walk, even with 6 kids in tow. The fenced yard was perfect for BBQing and for the dogs. I'm glad we found this gem, Mike the owner was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. We could definitely see ourselves coming back.

My friend and I brought our dogs for a 4 night stay at Star Gazer Cottage on Tybee Island. The house was perfect… secluded and quiet but within waking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. It’s a perfect set up for us and a secure yard for the dogs! We really enjoyed it!

Fabulous location at the end of the island. Very short walk to the sand. Celebrated family birthdays, enjoyed beach time and played several rounds of dis golf at the local course. House was as advertised and came well stocked for cooking. Plan to return.

This is a wonderful cottage. Close to everything the beach, restaurants,shops. Would highly recommend.

Location was ideal. Close to the beach. Easy walk to stores. Owner communication was good. We rented a golf cart for ease of exploring the island.

This house was more than advertised. The owner was super communicative and responsive. The beds were comfortable, the living space was homey, and the kitchen was well-equipped. I will definitely be staying here again. We had plenty of room for our extended family to spread out. We never ran out of hot water - with 10 people in the house. The beach was just steps away. It was the perfect set-up for us.

We loved our stay at Star Gazer. Great location on a private street with a very short walk to the beach, shopping, pier and restaurants. Highly recommended. We want to make this an annual family tradition. All of us can’t wait to return. Thank you Mike.

We enjoyed our stay on Tybee in Stargazer. The house is steps away from a private beach. The 100 year old house is the quintessential southern beach cottage, exactly what you'd expect near Savannah. Very roomy, very comfortable, and well equipped. Mike, the owner, and John, the caretaker, were there to welcome us and ensure a smooth check-in. Quiet neighborhood, very walkable. Great place for people and our dog.

I'll go so far as to say it was the perfect place for us! The house, the beach, the location, everything was fantastic. Tybee Island is great family fun and so close to Savannah with all it's history and beauty. We will be back!

Arrived a little after 4pm on check in day and unlocked the door and knew immediately something wasn’t right. I looked down and saw the floor was dirty, dirty sheets were in a pile next to the beds, kitchen wasn’t clean. There were nail/ toe nail clippings on the kitchen counter, dirty towels in the bathtub. I immediately called the owner and left a voicemail. He called me back within 5 minutes and said there was a misunderstanding with the cleaning crew and they would be straight over. He offered to pay for our dinner because of the inconvenience. We had stopped to buy groceries and were planning to barbecue as there were 11 of us and eating out would’ve cost a fortune. What he offered would not have covered dinner for us all.He said he would text me when the cleaning was completed. My younger son works in hospitality and suggested we mark all of the dirty linens and towels with liquid soap, that way we would know if the cleaning was done properly and not a rushed, cutting corners kind of job. This we did AND took photos of the wet soap marks. We returned from dinner ready to give this another chance.I could feel grit under my feet and could see that although the floor had been swept, it wasn’t done properly. We walked into the downstairs bedroom and felt the thin quilt on the bed as well as the matching pillowcases and exactly where the wet soap patches were.. they were still there. The sheets were clean at least. The thin quilts on the other 2 beds were unwashed as well as the matching pillow cases as they still had the wet patches and one of the thin quilts had an over powering smell of perfume. I contacted the owner and informed him of the situation and how I knew that the proper cleaning had not been done. He said the cleaning manager had assured him that the cleaning had been completed up to standard and then said that the quilts don’t get washed after every guest just put into the dryer at high heat, not this time because the wet patches were still wet. He apologized. I spent the next few hours washing all of the bedding. He said my standards were high but I think everyone expects clean bedding and a clean environment. If this is the norm then I do not trust VRBO and would not use them again. Maybe they all cut the same corners.. The cleaning fee plus a little extra was refunded but I would’ve preferred a clean home. None of us felt comfortable because we knew how low the cleaning standards were.

The Star Gazer was perfect! The location and access to beach was great. The house was so comfortable for our large group. We can’t wait to go back.

“Star Gazer” met our expectations and then some. Every room in the house was spacious with room to relax inside or out. A short walk to the beach to catch the early morning sunrise or a walk downtown for shopping, lunch or dinner. The house fit us perfectly for 2 couples. 1 up and 1 down stairs…perfect for the older dog to not have to climb stairs. The fenced back yard was a bonus for the dogs to have some freedom. Mike was an attentive host and communicated very well. John, the caretaker, was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you for sharing your charming, beautiful cottage…please keep it original and don’t change anything!

Everything was perfect

Our family of 8 (grandparents, 3 adults, 2 college kids, and 1 12 yr old) had a nice stay in Tybee at this house. We were 3 houses from the beach down a private road. The house, although a little piecemeal, was clean and fit us all. The beds were very comfortable. It was freezing when we were here in December but the beach looks fantastic. We would love to come back and enjoy the spring/summer weather!

This was the perfect place for a stay with kids of multiple ages! It had amazing beach access within a short walking distance. The house was clean and had two outdoor spaces to use!

House was very close to beach. Owner and caretaker were very responsive. Could stand some updating, but home was well stocked with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Had a good time!

The house is very comfortable and clean. Plenty of room for three families. Only steps from the south end.

Very happy with the house. It was well supplied with towels, linens, beach supplies, toys. The house was perfect for our family. The caretaker was friendly. The owner provided us with an informational packet concerning the island, and most of all...we owe him a big thank you for allowing our 14 year old dog to enjoy Star Gazer. The entire family was very happy to make memories at the Star Gazer.

Great location to the beach

This house was perfect for our group of 7. Our kids are older teens, and our oldest brought her hubby and their toddler, so we needed room to spread out. The layout was perfect for giving everyone their own space! Our daughter’s little family took over the downstairs, and the upstairs living area became the hub for group movies and game time. The house was immaculate and offered everything we needed and even things we forgot to bring, down to the little details of extra kitchen and laundry supplies, and things for baby. We all loved the deck and secluded patio area. We hope to return as soon as we can! Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Our family loves this home! Vacation with 6+ adults, toddler and baby…. This house has everything you need! Walk down the drive, over the dunes and you are on the beach (easy peasy with a toddler!) they have chairs, beach toys, beach cart, outdoor shower, pack and play, high chair…… and great responsiveness from the owners. AC is nice and crispy too when you are done at the beach :) Can’t wait to come back!

I absolutely love this property. It was perfect for my family. Everyone had personal space and plenty of gathering spaces. Our favorite was the deck in the back. We had one question and owner responded in seconds! The location is perfect. Can be at shops and restaurants or the beach in 2 minutes. Yet it feels very private. I can’t wait to go back,

Classic, spacious, beach cottage. Plenty of room for 4 adults to stay and enjoy all Tybee Island has to offer. So close to the beach and all the south end activities but tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. What a gem!
