Janos and Joseph were the best hosts we’ve ever had. They were friendly and super excited to give us all kinds of advice for our stay. The place is a renovated 2 bedroom in an old Jewish tenement. They did the renos themselves and it is beautiful. They offered to cook us a traditional Hungarian dinner in the apartment. An additional fee of about $100/person. If was super awesome. We learned so much about them and the life in Hungary. They also do tours and even though we didn’t use them for our tours, we would certainly recommend them for that service. What awesome people. The apartment was immaculate and the small,balcony is a great place for relaxation. I highly, highly recommend this place.

I love high ceiling-ed European city apartments. Built in an era of old world style. The art deco doors are ridiculously beautiful - tall, bold, understated. Artwork in their own right. The slightly patchy plaster in the shared internal courtyard is part of the charm. The location is great for exploring around Budapest. Central, close to transport links and safe. A bit noisy on a warm evening when the visitors of the bar nearby chat in the street. But only one bar which is rare for streets in this lively neighbourhood. The hosts are very hospitable and want to make your stay easy and relaxed. We’d stay again but bring earplugs.

The apartment was in a great location to access public transportation, restaurants night life and the Opera House. Spacious enough for my adult family of 5. All essentials were available in the apartment and beds were comfortable bathrooms spacious. Nicely decorated. The hosts were so helpful and friendly. Met us when we arrived to go over the details of the apartment and communicated perfectly.

This apartment is exceptional. Clean,beutifully furnished,fully equipped,quiet and close to everything. Janos and Josef are incredible hosts and are very welcoming. We have stayed at many properties and they have been lovely but this one tops the list !

I’m 💯 sure that Janos and Josef have ruined all other home rental opportunities for us. Their hospitality, cleanliness, knowledge, and genuine care of their customers is beyond any I have found in all our years of renting vacation homes! I would highly recommend anyone to take them up on the offer (if it is shared) of the day tours and especially the home cooked meal. Our time in the home and sharing dinner was beyond any expectation of any other place we’ve been and we can’t wait to come back and stay again! A more than 5 star stay and experience! Janos & Josef are amazing hosts. We hired Janos as a city guide one day and took his suggestions for a day adventure to Szecheny (don't miss the Marzipan museum) and several restaurant suggestions. The flat was lovely, kitchen stocked with tea & several types of coffee makers. Onsite washer made carry on packing possible. Thank you, Janos and Josef, for your extra efforts and in sharing stories of your life and country. This was truly a memorable experience for our family.

Janos couldn’t have been a better host. We communicated before our stay and arranged to have a private tour with him of the city. He is very knowledgeable about Budapest’s history and we walked a lot and used the public transit system to get around. We also enjoyed a delicious home made dinner with him in our apartment (for an extra fee), and it was the best Hungarian soup and crispy duck we’ve ever had. Excellent apartment with plenty of room for five adults. Conveniently located to great restaurants, bars, transportation, and several important sites. It was well stocked (unlike other places on our trip) and had air conditioning (which was needed!). Janos, our host, speaks excellent English and is a great communicator, willing to answer any questions. Janos also offered several other services which we took advantage of, including a bike-tour of Budapest, a guided tour of Szentendre, and a cooking demonstration with full-meal in the apartment. The bike tour was an exceptional way to learn the city and a lot of the history of Hungary and Budapest, especially as Janos is well-versed in the subject and a passionate advocate for Budapest. Our day-trip to Szentendre, by train, was amazingly fun, easy and educational. Janos knew all the hidden gems and guided us beyond many of the crowded touristy areas. The cooking demonstration (fruit soup, goulash, roast duck leg, potatoes, and cabbage … and sour cherry cake for dessert) was entertaining, informative, and most importantly, delicious! Having Janos as our tour guide helped make our visit exceptional in every way and we highly recommend his services.

Great location. Apartment was SUPER clean with everything you need. Out family of 5 adults were very comfortable. Communication thru email was superb. The host helped us find our bearings while in town and provided great recommendations for dinner, sights, etc. Of all the apts we stayed in while on our 8 day tour of Europe this was the best. I stayed in this apartment with my family of five. The apartment was in a great location in the center of the Jewish quarter and very close to restaurants, the Opera House and easy access to the metro. The apartment was large, very clean and well appointed. The hosts Janos and Josef were great hosts. They are very professional, pay attention to all details and provide a great service as VRBO hosts. Having stayed in a number of vacation rentals over the past 20 years, I can say that Janos and Josef are among the best hosts. The communication before we arrived was excellent and them met us at the apartment to get us settled in. They provided a great service and gave us great suggestions for dining and travel around the city. I highly recommend this apartment and also highly suggest you take Janos' bike or walking tour of the city. He gave great insight to the city and some of its history. I would not look for any other apartments when returning to Budapest.

The owner, Janos couldn’t have been more accommodating. He meets you and checks you in to his beautiful apartment. He offers tour guide services to the city and the village of Szentendre . Janos’s apartment in the Jewish Quarter is perfectly situated to take advantage of all the treats that Budapest has in store for you. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, comfy beds and everything you could need for a comfortable city break, what’s not to like? Janos can arrange airport transfers and whilst they might not be the cheapest way to get there, they are the simplest way to start off your holiday. Janos will also welcome you and give you as much or as little orientation and recommendation as you need. Highly recommended!

As with many buildings in the area, it was undergoing renovations. The apartment itself was great: very clean, had been recently renovated and has everything you would need for an extended stay. The location was just a few blocks from most of the attractions and excellent restaurants. We can't speak more highly about the owner, Janos. He met us the day we arrived to give us the keys and make sure we were comfortable with everything. He also made several restaurant recommendations, which were very good. Janos also offers a walking tour of Budapest from a local's perspective; very informative and sparked much conversation. If you're staying in Budapest, I recommend this property. When we return to Budapest, we'll be staying here.

This location is ideally located in a neighborhood full of charm, with many shops , wine bar and restaurants, and a short walk (20-30 minutes) from all the sites you want to visit. The appartement is very quiet, clean , in a warm, comfortable and functional setting , with all you have need. Janos & Jozsef are the best hosts. Communicating over the app during the entire process was always very quick. The apartment has everything that you will need and was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, so close to everything including the trams and subway. We took a half day tour of the city with Janos and it was incredible. He loves his hometown and is wonderful at making the tour personalized with great stories of his family, especially his grandmother. They also made transportation arrangements and dinner reservations for us. I could keep going on and on because they are the best hosts. We would recommend their place to anyone. We miss them already!

We were very happy in all respects: the apartment was very well-equipped, in a perfect location (walking distance to all the places you'll want to visit in Budapest), very roomy (we were only two, but lots of room for two couples - two big bedrooms, at either end of the apartment, and two big bathrooms as well), and the communication with the owner/managers was excellent. They responded quickly to any questions, and shared a wealth of knowledge and experience with us about things to do and places to go in Budapest. We are seasoned users of VRBO rentals, and this was one of our best experiences ever.

Janos, our host, is gracious, accommodating and helpful as well as being a wealth of information about ‎the Budapest scene. Janos could give lessons to other hosts on how to relate to and treat guests. ‎ While the apartment itself shows well in the Homeaway photos, it is actually even more beautiful in ‎person. He and his associate (Joseph) have decorated this apartment in a sophisticated but, yet cozy ‎way that allows for both comfort and charm. At the end of a day of touring, my wife, my sister and I ‎always looked forward to heading back to this ultra-clean, air conditioned apartment. The fact that it ‎has 2 separate bathrooms and showers made it a perfect option for us. Likewise having a washing ‎machine, microwave and complete kitchen at our disposal was better than I had hoped for.‎ I have extensive experience in staying in rented apartments around the world. This apartment was ‎absolutely superior in every way. If you rent this apartment, I hope that you have a similar experience.‎
