Thankyou Meta for a wonderful homestay. From our first interaction when picked up from the bus, through to being dropped off in the heart of Siem Reap, it was an excellent service. The accommodation is surrounded by rice fields, very quiet and serene. There is a bathroom with toilet and cool water shower. We appreciated the fan in our cute cabin while relaxing in the hammok. There is a local store to buy water and cold drinks. Meta's wife prepared delicious food for us. Meta and his family were delightful. Such a great experience. Take the opportunity to stay at this homestay. You won't be disappointed.

Perfect for escaping the city and experiencing life in a close knit community. We were there at the beginning of Khmer New Year and Meta invited us along to all the village ceremonies and parties. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we had the best time dancing. Meta’s brother also drove us into Siem Reap to see the Phare circus which was amazing!

The property was absolutely spacious and very relaxed. The cats and dogs and parrot made it feel so homely.
The water was not very hot

The owner Kama is very friendly and was waiting for us at the airport for free!!!The house is made from perm tree and it’s like in jungle!!!The house location is a bit far from the city,so We could see local people and foods because Kama took us.They gave us presents for welcoming us.It’s such a beautiful days.
Because of tree house,we can listen to the sounds of heavy rain, but it’s alright.
To the city is a bit far.

Meta, the owner and local legend, happily picked us up from our bus stop on little notice and we tuk tuked to the Homestay which is located in a friendly village where the locals welcome you with a big smile and wave. When we arrived, we walked through an enchanting jungle type garden, past multiple hammocks and towards a very cute cabin with a porch overlooking the garden. Be sure to say hello to the resident parrots and the friendliest dogs in all of Cambodia. Meta, his family and his friends are all incredibly generous, welcoming, funny and all-round incredible people. We cannot speak highly enough of our stay here, a highlight of our travels and somewhere we hope we can return to. If you’re considering staying here, please do!!
Bring mosquito repellent!!

Breakfast was stated as included. The owner took us out to a local restaurant of typical noodle soup and broth.
This is a good place for you want to experience real life with a Cambodian family.
The noise. This was really bad. Thin bamboo walls meant were kept awake by a chronic snorer and the family's child screaming in the night. It was bad luck that both of these noisy events happened on the same night. Then of course the roosters were very close to the room for an early wake up reminder- but this is to be expected in a more rural location.
The location means you are quite isolated. Make sure you have Grab app so you can get a tuk tuk at a reasonable rate.
There is a clothing factory on the premises. The accomodation is around the back of the clothing business and the photo is accurate. .
We were really hot in the night as there is only a fan and the bedding was too polyester so too hot for us (which also did not help our sleep)

Everything ! For the price you have a local experience with breakfast and a nice room and so much more. Its really incredible. I wish we could have stay longer. In the evening we went to a local birthday in the rice field and learnt how to eat Cambodian food, how to dance, we did a bbq and a karaoke and so much more. If you are a couple, a family or a single traveler it's the perfect place. Do not get afraid of the distance they can come and pick you up. You will be in the nature and with amazing locals. YOU SHOULD NOT MISS THIS HOMESTAY DURING YOUR HOLIDAYS OR TRAVEL !

Love meeting the friends of Meta our host. We appreciate the time and effort to make us have a memorable trip. Meta arranged our entire day from the airport pick-up to every meal. Our driver was attentive to us and our tuk tuk driver Sam was very reliable. We did pay for each activity and felt the price was more than fair. Meta fished from the pond for our dinner and let us learn how they prepare meals with the "cooking class" while his wife prepared the rice. We stayed 3 nights in the rice field location. It does not have air conditioning but you do have a table fan that was adequate, you have a wrap around porch, private bath and a beautiful view. It was very hot and we were offered the room near his home that had air conditioning but we loved the atmosphere of the rice field.
Everything was wonderful

Great homestay with plenty of opportunities to enjoy life in the village. Meta is a great host and can sort out different activities for you.
Ask about prices beforehand. Value for money is great but not very clear, as everything is paid in the end.

This was an amazing location to start our holiday in Cambodia. Meta, his friends and family looked after us so well and really made us feel part of their community. The room itself was comfy and quiet with a lovely outdoor area where we could sit and enjoy soaking in the scenery. It was lovely to be woken up by the sounds of the local Buddhist temples. We enjoyed exploring the local area on foot and this was a great base to go and visit the amazing Angkor Wat. The food we got was home-cooked and very tasty. It was also great to experience the great sense of community and see Meta reinvesting money to help improve the local roads and his friends dedication to improving access to schooling. Meta's help didn't finish when we left the homestay either, he was always available to help arrange transport if we needed, wherever we were. A wonderful place with wonderful people we will never forget.

Super friendly hosts! It is such a great way to see and experience Cambodia, you get to hang out with the locals while having a BBQ and drinks. We did the floating village and also got some clothes made too which was perfect for the hot Cambodian weather. Everyone was so lovely and the room was in the middle of a rice field with the most amazing sunrise and sunset, not to mention how beautifully built the place was by the owners. Would strongly recommend!
Wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights

Loved this experience. The owner and his family are so lovely. On our first night we had a BBQ with them and their friends, which was so cool. They even let us help cook!
The bungalows have everything you need.
Although the accomodation is a little out of Siem Reap, it's a really nice community. Well worth the visit.

My stay at Meta’s place was wonderful - a great, immersive experience. I stayed at his farm bungalow for a few nights, which is set in a lush area and over a fishing pond. I loved the food that him and his family and friends provided, and it was wonderful doing the river tour to the floating village. I also enjoyed attending a local Buddhist prayer ceremony and gathering.
I would have like to know beforehand how immersive this experience is - your host has activities for you most of the day, and the bungalow is a community gathering area: your patio is rarely private. I recommend this place for people with enough energy to engage and learn, and would avoid it if you need solitude or a very calm environment. Please also make sure you communicate any boundaries around picture taking and the use of your name on social media, otherwise you will find yourself in front of a camera all day. Fun, if that’s what you’re after!

For a countryside stay, this is good; the people are really friendly and I appreciate the closeness to nature. You will be rewarded with a night full of stars on a clear night, absolutely charming.
It is difficult to get around without a proper vehicle. Hence locals are really your best friends, you need them to bring you around!

There is so much to like about kakrona pouk. Owner and host Meta is an easygoing and multitalented man who built the house himself -- check out the verandah with the awesome wood fence that he fashioned from various cuts of reclaimed wood -- and rallied the villagers to build the road leading up to the house. The house sits over a lily pond surrounded by rice fields farmed by Meta and another pond with catfish. Waking up every day to the sun rise over the fields and lotus flowers blooming in the pond is a real treat.
Meta's family live down the road. He has two lovely young daughters, three super friendly dogs (shout out to black Lab Ak Mao) and two parrots. His always-smiling wife runs a garment factory. All the villagers knows one another and because Meta is well-liked and his self-built house has become a local attraction, curious villagers would come to the compound to check it out. Best way to meet locals! Meta himself or (when he's busy) his friends would happily show me around the village and the town. I got to taste excellent beef noodles, see how rice is harvested and milled, shop at the local market for fresh produce, and try my hand at frying and eating crickets. Meta also caught fish in the stream for our lunch. I was even invited to the birthday party of the teenage daughter of the local provision shop owner and had a great time.
This was an authentic homestay that really showed the big-heartedness and community spirit of the Cambodian people. I signed up for two nights originally but ended up staying for four. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
A few mosquito coils or electric repellents might be good, though the mosquitoes didn't bothered me too much at night (there's a mosquito net over the bed).

Meta is the perfect host. He built the guesthouse himself and offers an unforgettable and moving experience. He is devoted to make his guests have the best time in Cambodia (organization of moto trip to the river, boat trip on the river, typical Khmer cooking class). I strongly recommend to stop by this guesthouse to anyone staying at Siem Reap. After 2 years without seeing any tourist, they were so happy to host us and to me it was the best way to genuinely understand Cambodia.
nothing, it was perfect

We loved the authentic atmosphere with an eye for the details. The host took very good care of us and always arranged a driver to go around or reach Siem Reap, for a very fair price! The whole family took care of us, in fact! We were soooo lucky to witness a traditional celebration of the host during our stay. We couldn't have asked for more! :)

I loved my time at the homestay! It was wonderful to get a contrast between Siem Reap and life outside of the city. As a solo traveler, I was well taken care of and constantly busy with the host, who took me on a sunset tuk-tuk ride, morning bike ride, breakfast, and even a family member’s wedding! I loved seeing how local Khmer live. Also, I went to a nearby school and helped with English pronunciation. I highly recommend visiting for at least two nights!
There was nothing I disliked about my stay.
