My husband and I stayed for ten nights at Joan's Sand Dollar condo. We could not have asked for a better view. Our favorite time of the day was sitting on the terrace drinking coffee and looking out on the Gulf. The condo was clean and well-equipped. We plan to return!

This place is awesome! Even better than the pics. Communication with Joan was first rate. Have already booked again for next year!

We would rent this condo again

The condo was beautiful and clean overlooking a wonderful view of the Gulf. Short walk down to the beach which was not crowded, even on a holiday weekend. Will definitely be back to this spot.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks and still wanted to stay longer! We ate our meals on the Lanai and loved the view and sound of the golf. We rode our bikes daily ...bike path just across the street. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature...and was sparkling clean. The beach was not too crowded and just a short walk away. We hope to return next year.

We were very pleased with the condition and location of the property. It is a quiet place to relax, but centrally located to restaurants and sights. The beach shelling was great. Will be coming back in the future!!

Huge condo over looking the beach! We've stayed in many places in Sanibel. It was time to get our 14 year old daughter her own bedroom away from her 2 little brothers and the den was her private getaway. The only complaint was that the bedding on the hideaway was dirty and had sand on the mattress. We did some housekeeping and all was fine. The back porch was the gem of the condo, twice as big as any other we have seen. We ate every meal out there, watched every sunrise, and we played cards & checkers on the patio table. Great condo, I would recommend it to others.

Bike paths made it perfect for riding our E bikes as our primary mode of transportation around the island; can go from one end to other on bikes!

Our family cherishes a quiet, comfortable getaway, and that is exactly what we found at Sanddollar B-202. The condo was spacious, well-appointed, and tastefully decorated. Other pro's: full-size washer and dryer, beach chairs, towels and other equipment, comfortable furniture, and gorgeous--and very large--lanai. We loved renting bikes and seeing the island this way. We also found the Sanibel Historic Village to be intriguing and a great way to learn more about the island. Con's: only one--we have to return to snowy Minnesota! Thanks, Joan, for your wonderful hospitality!

We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful condo. We loved the large screened in lanai and the views were amazing. So peaceful and relaxing. We realized when we were leaving that we never turned on a TV. Nothing compared to sitting on the lanai reading and talking while watching the stars and listening to the surf. The condo and grounds were very well maintained and clean. The beach and pool were terrific. We hope to return soon.

Pros: The condo is located very close to the beach, its a quick walk to the ocean and the view through the balcony is lovely. It's nicely located within Sanibel Island, close to many shops and restaurants. Cons: The kitchen and various other appliances are outdated. The condo is somewhat small, especially the kitchen. Additional note: When we arrived, there was a terrible case of red tide happening in the Gulf of Mexico. Many dead fish in the ocean and on the shore, and it was unsafe to enter the ocean. Though it's not the owner's fault, I highly recommend any folks interested in vacationing in Sanibel look up potential beach hazards/red tide status before booking a condo, as few owners will issue refunds for things like red tide.

My husband and I, as well as my sister and her husband, stayed at the Sanddollar condo over the 4th of July holiday week and had a fabulous time. The moment you walk into the unit, the views of the ocean just call to you. The huge screened in deck/porch is the perfect place for breakfast, for a book, for watching a passing storm, or just listening to the waves. A ceiling fan on the porch makes it super comfortable, even on the hottest days. Inside we had everything we needed. The kitchen was totally stocked with all the pots, pans and dishes necessary for making a big meal, there was enough room in the living area for everyone to spread out, and the bedrooms were great. Only downside was the mattress in the master has seen better days. The unit also has its own full size washer and dryer, which is super convenient. Outside, the condo grounds can't be beat. It is a low density complex, so there were never too many folks around. The elevator always seemed to be on our floor when we needed it. Also, the pool is just next to the unit's building and was the perfect place to cool off after a morning at the beach. The grounds also have numerous outdoor showers and hose pipes for rinsing feet and shells. Finally, the barbecue grills next to the pool were so clean and modern they almost felt brand new. I'm usually one that avoids using community grills, but these were an exception to my typically hard and fast rule! And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention all the great animals we saw -- rabbits are all over the island, and several seem to live right on the property. There's a beautiful bush in front of the building that attracts gorgeous butterflies of all colors. And adorable lizards roam about, as well. The beach can't be beat. Never super crowded -- even on the holiday itself. TONS of shells. We saw dolphins and pelicans and all sorts of birds every day. Just an amazing experience all around. Would recommend this unit to anyone!

I loved my stay here, we were very comfortable. Everything was super clean and updated. I’m pretty picky and I was very happy that I felt comfortable here.

This is the perfect condo! The location is perfect, it's steps away from the beach and the view is amazing! The condo has everything you need and the patio and view are amazing! We loved having the large patio that extended to the master bedroom. It was so nice waking up every morning to the sunrise and seeing the water and beach. I would highly recommend this condo and we look forward to coming back!

We vacationed during a VERY hot week. When the ocean isn't cool and the pool is even hotter, it was so nice to take a break in Sandollar 202B. The accommodations were perfect for our family of five. Whether we were relaxing on the lanai, cooking up a little lunch or cooling off and watching some tv, we had everything we could have needed! The owner even had beach towels in the condo so we didn't need to bring our own on the plane. If I return to Sanibel (which I sure hope I will), I will be checking to see if Sanddollar 202B is available! On a side note, renting bikes was a lot of fun too but need to make sure it doesn't get dark while you are still out.

My family and I enjoyed a beauiful week at this great unit at Sandollar. We have been coming to Sanibel for many years and have stayed at different places. We love staying at Sandollar. It has everything you need. This unit we stayed in was great. It was clean and had everything we could need. Joan was wonderful to deal with and made the whole process very easy. There was no need to contact her about the unit during our stay but she made sure to let us know if we needed anything we could contact her at any time.

Condo was very nicely furnished & view from lanai was fabulous!

This condo is pretty much as advertised in the listing. We just completed a one week stay. I could tell it's been a rental unit for awhile since it is generally well stocked. I found the owner to be very responsive. There are two reasons I would think this condo would drive a premium over other condos around. First, the view is great - 180 degree unobstructed ocean views. Second, the condo is bigger than most, and really is more of a 3 bedroom 2 bath unit. The unit has a large (I estimate 26' long) porch/lanai that opens to the large master bedroom and living area. It is on the 2nd floor but the building has an elevator, making it easily accessible. The bathrooms have been refreshed in the past 10 years, as has the kitchen. The kitchen appliances are older but functional. The furnishings have been well cared for too. We had good luck renting bikes from Finnimores and they will also drop off/pick up. The beach is easy to access and not too crowded. There's a sand bar off the coast so the waves are generally tame in this area with no noticeable currents. It's very quiet and peaceful. Sanddollar is a meticulously maintained complex with a well behaved renter population (it seemed to generally be families and empty nesters/older couples). It's an older medium density complex and all units have ocean views. We had a great stay and I would definitely recommend it!

The condo#B-202 at Sanibel Island was exactly what the pictures show. I loved the view the best! The rooms were excellent size and big enough to fit my family of 5 comfortably. We will definately stay here again at this condo!

The condo is lovely as well as functional with everything one might need. Views of ocean and beach from the LR and MB as well as from a screened porch where we spent most of our time! .Nice walkway to the beach and short distance to great dining and all the sights.Perfect!

My wife and I spent a great week in this great condo. My wife loved the large screened in porch. We slept with the windows open and the sunrise was wonderful. Besides the beach, the pool was great also. It was a convenient drive to Periwinkle Way. We even took a leisurely walk to Periwinkle Way in a loop through the neighborhood. Midweek, we went out fishing and caught a ton of fish. We enjoyed wonderfully fresh fish for dinner all week. The kitchen was great for all this cooking.

My husband, daughter and I had a very relaxing week in Sanibel. The week was extremely quiet on the island with no waits in restaurants and barely another soul on the beach. My daughter was recuperating from an accident so we didn't have much of a chance to take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities the island offered in kayaking, bike riding, hiking, etc. Joan was a great help in planning for the vacation. Her condo is beautiful and the pictures represent it perfectly. You don't need to bring a thing with you. We certainly hope to be back...maybe in a cooler month.

Since this was my first time to Sanibel, I can't help but hold this condo at the Sanddollar as the standard. We loved it! The condo itself is comfortable and, although the pictures capture what it looks like, the actualities are even better. It's comfortable, incredibly well-stocked, easy to get in and out of, and has lovely views! Since we flew in, we especially appreciated the beach equipment at our disposal in the handy storage area below. The grills at the pool were pristine and easy to use. We had family in other condos, and they were fine too, but our internet was faster in B-202, and I felt like we had more games and beach implements than the other condos. The owner was exceptionally easy to communicate with and work with, and I thought the price was quite reasonable as well. Bravo!

We had a fantastic time in Sanabell and staying at this Sandollar condo. My husband and I have traveled quite a bit over our 24 years of being married and on all vacations we've stayed at beach condos or resorts. Sanibel Island is where we spent our honeymoon and wanted to return 24 years later to celebrate our anniversary. This island is charming and still just as beautiful. We shelled almost daily, we rode bikes all over the island, we kayaked at Tarpon Bay at Ding Darling wildlife refuge. The weather was amazing our entire visit. The restaurants and shopping are great in Sanibel. The Condo had everything you needed except food. The views on the website do not do this condo justice!! The bedroom has the same view as the living room we slept with the curtains opened so that we can experience waking up to the beautiful view!! And the bed...I am a picky person when it comes to betdding & the bed in the master is extremely comfortable!!! A great visit and a great condo!! We will return!
