Our family loves Bayfield. Our stay “on top” worked great for our adventures.

The second floor apartment had everything we needed for our family of four (two kids under 5) and was in a great Bayfield location, right near the ferry launch and the beach. The only issue worth noting was that the wooden steps in the back were a bit precarious so we tried to mostly use the front door even though the back is more convenient.

Perfect place to stay to enjoy all that is Bayfield and Madeline Island.

The location was perfect. We parked and walked everywhere we wanted to go after that. The accommodations were fine. It is small (as can be seen in the photos), but we didn't mind at all. We had 5 adults and one 10 year old, and we were comfortable. The minor complaints were no fan in the bathroom, and a tiny dishwasher that got the dishes mostly clean. Neither of which affected the enjoyment of our stay. The inside table was too small to have us all eating around the table, but we didn't mind that either since we used the deck as well and that had enough seats there. Overall very pleased. Hosts checked to see if we made it okay and it was straightforward and easy to get in and settled. I would stay here again. The only other thing my coffe snob guests mentioned was to bring your own coffee. Apparently, they didn't like the coffee there or in the coffee shops they visited. I don't drink coffee so didn't care about that either. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Being a block away from some fun hiking trails was an added bonus. As I mentioned, I was very pleased.

Great place for exploring bayfield and Madeline island. Had 6 ladies so the one bathroom was a little tricky but we made it work! We had a great time in the cozy place!

There is black mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. There are two bedrooms, but no closets or dressers to put any clothing items so you have to live out of suitcases that are on the floor. But...one of the bedrooms is so small that you can barely walk around the bed, so there is not even a place for a suitcase on the floor. VERY DISAPPOINTED. The price of the unit certainly didn't match the quality we were looking for. Very unfortunate stay.

PRO’S: Beautiful location! Extremely short walk to the shops, the pier, and the area restaurants; back porch off the kitchen (seats 4 maximum) which is really nice for eating outdoors, having coffee, etc. Nice TV and sitting area. Nice tub with jacuzzi . CONS: The pull out couch bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, so I would not count on it as a bed. The layout is a little tricky because one room has two queen beds and the other has one queen bed, so you either need to have just 3 people, or people who are comfortable sharing beds and rooms. The kitchen table only sits 4, so again if you have more than 4 people you would not be able to eat together. Missing a few kitchen utensils (no carrot peeler, can opener, cheese grater) but the host is very nice and willing to bring you what you need. No cupboard space to store your food. Also, the host should make a change to the shower curtain set up: currently it blows in and kind of sticks to a person. Not enough room to stay away from the curtain due to the layout of the tub. The host is very reasonable and I am guessing they will address this if they read this review😊 A few tips: no games or fun amenities for kids, so bring your own or buy some at the nearby shops if kids are coming along. I would definitely stay there again, but with fewer people.

We enjoyed our stay in Bayfield. It was conveniently located to everything needed. The place was clean and enough room for our family of 7. I would recommend the place and stay there again.

We really enjoyed our At The Top rental unit, it was the perfect location to walk into town, explore Bayfield's stores, restaurants, and venues. I would most definitely stay here again!

Bayfield is just a gorgeous lakeside village. Postcard views. Great walking town. The rental property was excellent. Clean. Well stocked. Very comfortable. And a perfect location.

We had a great experience at this property. It was well stocked with more than we needed and everything was clean. Also, the location was more than ideal as we could walk or bike anywhere since it was super close to all the activities and fun.

Nice apartment right on the main drag. Walking distance to everything in town. Slept four (two teens) comfortably.

"At The Top" is a perfect place for a family to enjoy all that Bayfield has to offer. Excellent location, great amenities, and a perfect spot to rest after a day out exploring the Apostle Islands!

Great time in Bayfield. We got stuck on Madeline Island the first night so we did not use the first night but Jack Armstrong agreed to let us come up in the future and use the house for the 1 night we missed. Thank You Jack

Location is right downtown Bayfield. Walk to everything. Nice 2 bedroom with jacuzzi tub. Full kitchen has everything you need. I would stay here again.

The location was perfect. Quiet neighborhood with a short walk to town. Accommodations were exactly as advertised. We had 3 of us, definitely room for more. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay; the location was super convenient to all the shops and restaurants in Bayfield. The property had everything we needed and more. I was a little disappointed that the WiFi wasn’t working, but when Lake Superior is steps away, it worked out for the better.

We've stayed at Ship's Quarters "At the Top" for eight years. We love the views, the full kitchen, private entrance, and the accessibility to services and entertainment right down town.

We loved the coziness of At The Top apartment rental in Bayfield. Close access to downtown, a few blocks walk to main drag, restaurants, and City Dock and ferry landing. Bathroom was adequate, but would prefer a freestanding shower- toilet too crowded. Very nice, well equipped kitchen and sitting room. Mattresses a little too firm for us, but linens and towels were great - good quality. Overall, we liked it for four people. Good communication with property manager, very helpful with our request to change to a different night then originally reserved. I would recommend this rental to others! Barb Goffin, Rice Lake, WI
