Where do I begin - this cottage has it all! I rented this VRBO as an alternative to the hotel room block that was offered for a recent conference I attended at the Savanahh Mariott Riverfront. The location to not only River Street, but also Washington Square and others was ideal. The street is quaint and safe and quiet and lovely! My husband, two daughters, and two dogs joined me, and we all felt so comfortable and happy in the space. Charles stocks the cottage with EVERYTHING! It is so clean and so ready upon arrival. Thinks of it all! We were really wishing we had extended our stay past the conference, but we will be back! Thank you so much!

This was perfect for everyone in our party! Zero complaints from our teenage daughters who loved the walkability this location provided. Charles went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The furniture, especially the beds, were super comfortable. All necessary items were there for our use--paper products, toiletries, linens, etc. Thank you Charles & Faye for a fantastic stay!

We absolutely loved this cottage. It was well appointed and beautifully furnished. The location was great. We were by one of the squares and spent many evenings there chatting with locals. This was our first time staying on the east end of the historic district and it will not be our last. We were concerned about the availability of on street parking but that wasn't an issue at all, there was always plenty of parking. I highly recommend this cottage!

Chose Savannah to celebrate 2 special birthdays. This lovely home & Charles hospitality were the icing on our cake. Historic, elegant, comfy & cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Quiet location. My sister, my girlfriend & I enjoyed it very much.

Property very clean and even cuter in person! Location was perfect! Walkable and close to everything we wanted. Quiet and safe neighborhood. All the amenities available to make for easy stay. Nice linens, pots and pans, dishes, etc. Charles sweetly texted to check on us throughout our stay. He reached out early about a potential issue (which ended up not being a problem anyway.). He was willing to flexible and helpful. Would happily stay again!

The property could not have been more perfectly located to enjoy all that Savannah has to offer and had everything we needed and more. Charles was communicative and helpful with all of our needs. While we were not planning to cook on our relatively short (2-night) stay, there were ample cooking, eating, and drinking essentials had we been planning for a week or more. We were also impressed with the app-based parking available in Savannah (ParkSavannah). It was simple and intuitive. We will be back for more!

The propery was as described. It was very clean but after we took our belongings in we discovered bed bugs on the bed skirt. We were so disgusted we had to hurry and get our things out fast. I called the owner who lived across the street and he came over and apologized and offered to call a friend to see if we could stay somewhere else. At this point we were not sure if we had any on our stuff so we had to just go home. We had to cut our vacation short because of it. We are not very happy and probably wont be renting with VRBO again.

The listing and pictures are completely accurate in describing this house. This suited our family of four perfectly. We ran to Kroger, about 1.5 miles away, and grabbed some groceries for snacks and light breakfasts. The kitchen was adequately stocked with everything we needed - toaster, coffee pot, dishes. The house is over 100 years old and the house is everything you would expect - creaky, layers of paint, and beautiful moldings/details. I appreciated the modern kitchen and bathroom though. Charles was great in emailing us ahead of our arrival with information about our stay. When we arrived we had an issue getting into the house; it was 100% user error. Charles ran over within 2 minutes to help us and we didn't any issues after that. I text him one other time during our stay and he was quick to respond then too. He also provided us a courtesy text to remind us of the street sweepers that would be coming through overnight so not to park on that side of the street. Parking was never an issue for us. We both drove and walked to our various destinations. I did find the website to be the easiest option for paying the meters and allowed for 15 minute increments. The house is at the end of the Riverwalk, so perfect to start or end there and walk to the other end, then head back down one of the other streets. The trolley picks up across the street in front of The Pirate's House so that was convenient if you use the hop-on/hop-off trolley. Thank you!

I could not have asked for a better stay at the Captain's Cottage. Amazing location close to everything you need, and parking was easily accessible. Charles was an amazing host. I would definitely return here given the chance.

The cottage was perfect! Super clean, well stocked, and in a great neighborhood. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Highly recommend this place if you’re going to Savannah!

2 bdrm cottage in an historic neighborhood. Blocks from the River Street area. Also walkable to many restaurants and bars.

We loved the property. All details were covered. Perfect for our girls trip. The 2 bedrooms are so nice with 2 baths too, which is a rare find. Great location, furnishings, linens, kitchen, everything was in perfect order. I highly recommend the property for any occasion. We plan on staying again in the future if Charles will have us.

Our host did it all. Everything was ready and complete. All use details were clearly explained and right on target. The location was perfect as we walked throughout the Historic District. That to the instructions and Park Savannah App parking was a breeze. This won’t be the last time we visit.

If you want to be close to everything in the historic section of Savannah, yet prefer a very quiet area, this is the place to vacay. The house is clean and comfortable, very well decorated in the southern style - it even has chandeliers in every room - including bathrooms, and has a kind and attentive owner. I can't say enough great things - there isn't enough space in this review box, or I'd go on, and on, and on. Thank you Charles for sharing this lovely home with my friend and me, and all Savannah visitors!!!

We could not have imagined a better place to stay during our visit to Savannah! The house was perfect in every way. The location, the amenities, the prompt responses from Charles when we had a question, and the decor and feel of the house was authentic to this historical city. We highly recommend this place! It’s in walking distance to everything. The neighborhood felt incredibly safe when walking home late at night, which was so nice when visiting a new place. Thank you to Charles, you helped make this one of our favorite cities to visit!!

Quaint lovely home decorated beautifully. A very fun place and close to the River market area and the Hop On Hop Off Trolley stops. We stopped by the Bryan Street parking garage and bought a parking pass good for all the days of our stay. Parked in front of the house and never moved the car. Bought the 2 day Trolley pass and used that for our transportation. Highly recommend this house. Charles was always available and a gem.

Charming cottage in a picturesque Savannah neighborhood.

This was our second stay in Savannah and by far the best The cottage was perfect. Very clean, the host contacted us the first night to make sure everything was okay and to not hesitate if we needed them, and everything was there for our use. We were allowed to bring our pups and the square/park was two houses down and that was wonderful. The house is within walking distance of everything and we left the car parked outside the house the entire time. We would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place.

The house was as described. We were comfortable. The dog was happy. We parked in the Lincoln Street garage, all safe and good. We would rent from Charles and Faye again.

Safe neighborhood. Easy walking to everything. Felt safe. Owner was very helpful and attentive with questions. Cottage was well-stocked with equipment and supplies. If you are OK with queen size beds, this is a great choice.

The Captain’s Cottage property was clean, had all the amenities one would need for a stay, and was centrally located within walking distance to much of what Savannah has to offer. Granted, we like to walk and explore (aka grab cocktails) as we go - but we walked down through and past Forsyth Park to 40th St without issue. Charles was responsive with all communications and reached out to ensure we were enjoying our stay. When we decide to revisit Savannah I will undoubtedly be looking into again staying at The Captain’s Cottage.
