The property owner is very considerate. The house has all the basics and some extras for a week at the beach. We especially appreciated the air conditioning because it was such a hot week.

We had a great week at the house on Ellery. So convenient to beach and restaurants. The house had plenty of space for us to spread out and be all together on the deck. The beds are super comfortable too. Beautiful yard and neighborhood too. Would definitely recommend this property. Thank you for a great vacation.

The cottage is fabulously located - close to the beaches, Cliff Walk, Sachuest Point, Norman's Bird Sanctuary, downtown Newport, Frosty Freez (best soft ice cream I have ever had), and several restaurants within walking distance. The house is extremely clean, very well provisioned, and nicely decorated. We especially enjoyed the deck and lovely back yard. The owner, Sharen, was extremely responsive and committed to providing a wonderful rental experience. We definitely hope to return!

This is a lovely little cottage in a nice, quiet neighborhood with a great location. It was very relaxing to end the day with the option to sit in a well cared for back yard. All essential items for daily living were provided e.g. soaps, towels. The only negative aspects of the property are that the ceilings in the master bedroom and bath are quite low (especially if you are over 6 feet) and the portable dishwasher is an inconvenience (we do not usually wash dishes, but washing was less of an inconvenience than attempting to run the dishwasher).

Very clean and lovely home. More than enough room for my family of five to comfortably spread out. The backyard is so pretty and spacious. It’s only a short walk to several excellent restaurants and the beach. Communication with Sharen was fantastic. Would highly recommend for a family with teenage/young adult children.

Everything was so clean. Weve been leary to travel but i just needed a couple of days. We loved all the personal touches and decor.

This is our second year in a row staying at The Cottage on Ellery! It is a great place to stay. A few walking blocks to Easton’s Beach and a perfect location to anything! The neighborhood is great for a family walk or kids on bikes. Our dog loves it too!! Sharen and John are super great. Always available if you need anything! A well equipped, perfectly quaint home. Can’t wait to go back next year!!

Beautiful house, more spacious than the pictures do justice. Great open back yard, amazing to run around in for our dogs, We had such a great time, perfect location, just outside downtown Newport, but close enough to everything, downtown, the beach, local restaurants and shops, with us having dogs, this was the perfect house and we will absolutely going back!

Property is great for families w kids. Bunk house is a nice option for older kids to have their own space. Nice yard and deck/ patio for staging days at the beach.

This is a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood-beautiful garden and outdoor space and just a short walk to the beach. Lots to discover in the area as well. Owners were very accommodating - we hope to return!

Sharron, we had a great time at your cottage. Thank you for making it available. My wife, Jean, and my sister Pat were thoroughly happy with our choice. It could not have been better for our needs. We particularly enjoyed the cleanliness. It looked like you had a swat team of cleaners in to do the job. Every room and corner was spotless. The home was well decorated so we instantly felt comfortable which made our stay even better. We enjoyed meeting and talking with your caretaker, John LaPointe. We played the required Newport name game since I and my sister grew up in nearby Portsmouth. He new of my cousins and their business but that was about it. Again, Sharron, our stay was great and we are already talking about our return trip next year. Hopefully when we finalize our plans your home will be available. We'll Look forward to it. The cottage on Ellery was quaint & cozy. Sharen responded to my questions quickly. The slanted ceilings took some getting use to...a few bumped heads and we maneuvered our way around them. Neighborhood was quiet and a great area for taking walks with our dog. The "hidden gems" of Middletown were wonderful: Purgatory Chasm, Paradise Valley Park with Boyd's Grist Windmill, St Columba's Chapel, Third Beach, and the Sachuset Point National Wildlife Refuge were so beautiful and Uncrowded! We enjoyed the peace & tranquility! The cottage was certainly suitable for us...but my own personal preference would be to be closer to the ocean and a beach to walk. We enjoyed our week in your lovely little cottage.

Six adults spent a week at the cottage and found it to be absolutely perfect for our vacation in Newport. The pictures do not do the cottage justice. There was plenty of space for everyone and it was incredibly easy to get to any of the beaches as well as downtown. Sharen was also very easy to work with. We would love to stay here again!

This is an old house that has been added on to so the main rooms are on the small side but, the furnishings, appliances, bathrooms and beds were all well appointed and comfortable and we certainly had enough indoor space for 6 people. The back porch is a great gathering place and we made great use of the outdoor shower. Easton beach is very close but does have a lot of seaweed- 2nd beach is lovely and very long!This is a great location for both beaches and downtown Newport and it is a short walk to the Atlantic grill for awesome breakfast!

Fantastic cottage! The location is perfect and it has everything you need. The bunk house is great for kids and it has its own bathroom. I would definitely stay again when visiting Newport.

This Cottage was absolutely perfect for a long weekend getaway with my girlfriends. The house had absolutely everything we needed. It was comfortable and spacious. The main house had a Master Suite on the second floor and a small guest bed on what was once a front porch. There were for other beds in a partially detached back portion of the house. We were very impressed with the location. We were within walking distance to several good restaurants and coffee shops. We would have been able to walk to The Cliff Walk had one of our members not been heavily pregnant with twins. The neighborhood is quiet and very sweet. The property had 3 separated outdoor areas for congregating in small groups. There was a lovely side deck with chairs and an awning surrounded by flowers and Buzzing Bees. Around the side of the house and passed through the outdoor shower there was a small gravel area with a chiminea that would be perfect for evening Gatherings around the fire, and behind the house was a beautiful and spacious backyard. Inside the main house living area there was a rustic but nice kitchen, another full bathroom, a complete dining room, living room and sitting room. We spent most of our time in the front sitting room chatting, listening to music and enjoying each other. We could not have found a better location or house had it been in a movie. Sharen has a wonderful little book of all the things you need to know for the house, including how to use the dishwasher (which is a fun little experiment) in the little sitting room. Sharon was also readily available for any issues that came up. We were simply able to send her a quick text message and she responded generally within minutes. No detail was overlooked and everything was perfectly comfortable. This might not be the right place if you have small children that you want to keep close but it is a wonderful spot for a couple, a small group like ours, or family with slightly older children. We loved it and would definitely book this Cottage again.

The house was perfect for our family -- 4 adults, 2 teenagers, & 2 kids. I was concerned as to whether the beds would be comfortable & whether the AC would be sufficient. We weren't disappointed at all! We had no plumbing or electric problems. Everything worked smoothly. We used the sun porch for sleeping & for playing. We only cooked one meal because, for us, vacation meant not cooking. It's true that it's a very easy walk to the beach. The owner, Sharen Thompson, was wonderful. We would certainly stay there again.

We rented the Cottage on Ellery for two weeks so our two sons and there young families could be together and Grandma and Grandpa could see the little ones in action. the walk to the beach was so easy and so much fun! the cottage was clean, plenty of linens and great deck to relax on. the bunk house was perfect for the two families. Making the reservation was easy and the owners could not have been more accommodating . Would love to rent again next year! Thanks for wonderful memories, Mary & Bob and crew

We loved our stay and felt so welcomed by the very clean & fresh atmosphere of this sweet cottage. The master was very nice and private ( but tall folks watch the low ceilings) Our adult children loved the privacy of the sun porch room and the bunk house!! The accommodations perfect , lots of towels, beach towels, beach chairs, barbecue , cute patio... You will not be disappointed!, also my sister & brother rented the house next door Ellery House, and it was so perfect to have more family right next door ! The owner Sharon, and manager Rebecca are so very helpful in every way!, and Rebecca has a great daughter Who babysits and is amazing!! Great location near beach, & restaurants ! Have fun!!
