Julio and Rebecca were the most gracious of hosts. Their home was amazing and a wonder to stay at.
I can't say enough about the hospitality they offered us. We came as strangers and left as friends.

Julio, the host, was so friendly and helpful. It was our first time and first day in Costa Rica and he gave us loads of advice and was so keen to offer his help any time we would be in need.
The rooms are small but comfortable. The house is super unique loft which makes experience even more rich than staying in some regular hotels :).
We also enjoyed delicious breakfast with a nice view from the kitchen.
Would definitely recommend.

Our stay was wonderful. We loved everything, it's a very quiet place with two comfortable beds and a nice yard with an amazing night view on the city! The family is very friendly and welcoming! We were leaving very early and it was so sweet that Julio woke up and prepared a delicious breakfast for us at 5am! Thank you!

The property was beautiful. Julio and his family were wonderful and treated me like family. The breakfast was wonderful and the views from the home were amazing. This was my first experience staying in a home with a family and it felt comfortable the entire stay. I had free range of the home, kitchen, living room etc. I would definitely stay there again.
There was nothing I didn’t like personally. I know that Americans love watching tv so I would suggest maybe bringing a tablet or laptop as the rooms do not have tv. Also, when using Uber DO NOT use the auto location, you must put in Salamandra room for uber to find the location.
But I cannot think of anything negative about the stay.

I loved the feng shui of the house. Both Julio & Rebecca are wonderful people, and had open arms to us as guests.

The house itself where family lives is very nice a great views. House was hard to find with no street names or address numbers.
However where I stays is on bottom floor with raw cement floor in a small room. Room needed paint, dirty sheets and filthy bedspread that was musty smelling, mattress was shot, one half sized pillow. There was no climate control, fan, tv. Bathroom tiny with Luke warm water at best.

Great location. Amazing structural contruction. Awesome view of central valley. Delicious guanacastecan breakfast. Very pleasant stay.

This is a beautiful , multi-level family home overlooking San Jose. You will receive a delicious breakfast and a beautiful view from the main living area. There are paintings and artifacts from Thailand, India, Nepal.
We liked it very much. A shared bathroom for the two rooms was not difficult for us and it was always clean but some it might be important to know in advance.

Escazú has to be my favorite city to stay in San José.
Salamandra Room was exactly what we needed to run all our errands and rest. The property is unique, transmits this beautiful, positive and relaxing energy. It had a wonderful view and access to the backyard area where I felt like I was able to breathe and rest.
The bed was so comfortable and the shower was very pleasant.
Julio made us breakfast and it was absolutely delicious!! Julio was also kind enough to recommend us a restaurant that serves delicious food!
I’m not sure I found anything I didn’t like! The place was exactly what we’re needing and left us wanting to go back soon! I know if I ever have to go back to the area I’ll for sure be contacting Julio!

The host family was very welcoming. Yummy breakfast cooked by Julio. Rebecca treated us more like friends than guests. Their home was gorgeous and clean. Amazing views of the city. Within walking distance to shops, public transportation and animal refuge. My new home away from home when in SJO!
