Excellent location and very friendly hosts. Alessandro greeted us with Prosecco when we arrived at the meeting point (his family’s restaurant, Il Fornillo) and took us up to the incredible accommodation which was only a few steps away. The views from the terrace were breathtaking and the proximity to amazing food and shopping options were unmatched.
What really makes this stay so special is the hospitality. Alessandro and his family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. Our breakfast at the restaurant each morning was delicious!

The accommodation was exactly as described. the hosts were so kind and welcoming it truely felt like we were staying with family.
As other guests have mentioned there is a noise at night from traffic driving over a drain cover in the road above but it didn’t effect our overall experience we would stay here again.

The room is very spacious and renovated! We loved the terrace and rooms and showers are so nice with 3 shower options. I recently stayed at la gasparina and it was an amazing experience! Alessandro and his family were exceptional hosts and took great care of us throughout our stay.
The room was comfortable and clean, and the location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area.
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation experience.
Nothing it’s great

The room has a private terrace, which offers amazing views of Positano. It goes down to the Fornillo beach, which (in my opinion) is so much better than the main (and overcrowded) beach. Alessandro was so helpful and friendly - he greeted us at Il Fornillo (the hotel’s restaurant), offering us free Prosecco and bruschetta; we were able to check in at around 13:30. The breakfast felt homemade and nice.
Nothing.

What a beautiful place! Room was perfectly clean, cleaned daily, terrace with amazing seaview+cityview, there was a lemon tree on terrace. Very kindly welcome by the owner. Breakfast in the family restaurant served by owners, we could choose.
Nice family business.

Margarita and Alessandro made us feel like part of their family. The family welcomed us to a private breakfast in their open-air restaurant (El Fornillo) every morning, providing excellent European coffees, fresh croissants and pastries, and made-to-order eggs and omelettes. We also enjoyed an evening dinner at their delightful restaurant. We found the location to be perfect for our taste, about 3/4 of the way up the winding road from Positano Beach. The descending stairs to the more preferable El Fornillo Beach were located right in front of the restaurant. The rooms (a converted home) were located above and adjacent to the restaurant (about 50 stairs or a short stroll up the winding road). Our room was very spacious and clean, but the best part was the large semi-private patio overlooking the town and the sea. We enjoyed afternoon drinks, and we even spent one night dining al fresco with pizza, salads, and wine while we enjoyed the sunset. Being close to the main coastal road (above) was also convenient. We had relatively easy access to the markets, bus service to other costal towns, as well as some other fine dining choices above the town.
Our only caution is that the room is close to the road. There is a pothole on the road with a warn rubber seal that needs repair by the city. Right now, it makes a bit of an audible thump as cars drive over it that can be heard in the room. However, traffic dies down dramatically after 23:00, so it did not interrupt our sleep.

We spent 10 days in Positano for our honeymoon, and the highlight was staying at La Gasparina. Not only were the room, view, and restaurant absolutely incredible, but Alessandro and Margherita were the best hosts. They helped us with our plans, served the best food, and made our stay unforgettable. We truly feel like we have an Italian family, and we can't wait to go back to see them. I would never stay anywhere else in Positano!

Room was well decorated, clean and we loved the veranda. We were greeted by Alessandro who led us to the suite. Margarita, mom, was a delight. The family owns a nearby restaurant where they serve breakfast. Highly recommend.
Stairs, but not their fault…that’s Positano.

The property was at the prime spot. The host Alessandro treated us like family and we felt very welcomed & cared for. Breakfast was at the family run restaurant La Fornillo, delicious! We also had dinner there which was really good too.

The breakfast was delicious every day of our stay. It was composed of fresh fruit, a scrumptious croissant, freshly squeezed Orange juice and my personal favorite, a steamy cappuccino. The view was amazing and the location was close restaurants and shopping
On the Main Street through Positano, so you do hear some traffic noise during the day. It does quiet down at night and it never impacted our ability to get a great nights sleep.

As a family business they were all very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Although we had mostly rainy days, the view was great.
Maybe because of Italian tradition, the breakfast was quite simple, mostly sweets.
The cleaner came quite early each morning, disturbing privacy. This was also the same for the check-out time.

Where do we even start?! Our stay at La Gasparina was perfection! We would come back in a heart beat. We were greeted promptly by the host Alessandro at the family's restaurant where we were given complimentary prosecco and bruschetta. Alessandro was helpful in contacting us with a private car company for transfer to/from Naples and giving us more information about the town.
The room was so so clean and had modern upgrades/features. The private balcony had a beautiful view out to the water, was protected from the wind, and got lots of morning and afternoon sun. In the mornings we had the included breakfast at the restaurant. It was always very generous. The walk down to the town was only about 15 mins and minimal stairs involved! Alessandro and his family were so kind our entire stay and really made us feel like we were staying with family.

Beautiful family owned and run bed and breakfast. It was our first time in Positano and after researching places to stay we decided on this one - and we’re so happy we did! Started with a warm welcome at the restuarant incl a glass of Prosecco. The restuarant has stunning views the food is so delicious and fresh we kept going back. Breakfast is included, we had croissants, coffee, cal rede salad, fresh juice and fruit and omelettes. The room is stunning with gorgeous views, clean and in a great location with cafes / restaurants, bakery, pharmacy, laundry, wine deli close by. The family treated us like family, made us feel welcome and gave us helpful recommendations on where to go. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back next year - thank you!!

The accommodations were spacious, beautifully decorated, and comfortable with a killer view. Alessandro met us and assisted us with our luggage (a major help in Positano) and then showed us our accommodations. He was helpful and attentive from our arrival to our departure.
Breakfast was served in the owner's restaurant (Il Fornillo). Incredible breakfast - wonderful orange juice, fruits, and delicious omelette. Best croissant we have ever had. We dined there for dinner twice - best restaurant during our travels. The staff are friendly and attentive.
The owners are tremendously friendly and made us feel like family. Margarita, owner and mother of Alessandro was a true joy to meet. We will visit Positano again - if only to visit this wonderful family and stay in their beautiful accommodations.
Nothing could have made our visit better - everything was spectacular.

Alessandro and his mother were sooo wonderful!! It felt like we were staying with one of our own family members as they were so warm and fun and welcoming! Alessandro stayed in touch with us via whatsapp which made it so easy to contact if we had questions (mainly around town for transportation etc.) Of course the view from our room/ apartment was amazing! The breakfast was wonderful. They took great care of us and we can't wait to come back !

We stayed at La Gasparina for 3 nights in August. Upon arrival, we were greeted with refreshments by Alessandro and his mother Margarita. The hotel is a family run business with a warm, homely vibe from all members. Alessandro and Margarita in particular made us feel like family, they ensured we were comfortable during our stay. The service during breakfast and dinner was delightful with a good choice from drinks and food. We can’t wait to visit again!
It was a pleasure to stay at La Gasparina and I cannot fault the hotel, apart from with praise!

Amazing hosts, beautiful room with a beautiful view. The restaurant Il Fornillo is the family’s restaurant that owns La Gasparina apartments. Restaurant is great and family is the sweetest.
The room has neighbors (other Gasparina residents) so it’s not quiet and had to pass through their patio living space to get to ours, which was weird. It’s a trek from the beach, ~20 minutes and not a straight shot / lots of stairs or uphill walk.

The breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, hot tea, and big rolls.
Had to walk down a lot of steps to get to the restaurant.

We loved almost everything about our stay! The location is walkable to the busy part of Positano but far enough up hill that it maintains a quiet too. the views were phenomenal, the layout and decor beautiful, the service from Alessandro was above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a friendly smile and positive attitude. We booked dinner at Il Fornillo which was wonderful and ordered Pizzas which we took to the terrace from there as well which I would highly recommend! We didn’t want to leave!
I have only 2 things I could think to fault & this is being picky to balance out this review. I cannot stress enough that I really loved my stay here. Firstly, there is a drain on the road above the property, when a car drives over it, it makes a thudding sound which if you are a light sleeper may bother you (I sleep well so it wasn’t really an issue, more something I noticed at night). My only other thing, which again wasn’t an issue for me, but may be for some, was that the toiletries provided were not luxury products you would usually get in a rental of this cost and at first I thought someone had just left their stuff behind.

We booked 7 nights at La Gasparina and payed 300 euro per night.
Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.
We’re used to travel a lot and never have we got so little for so much money.
From the second night we started to smell an sewer smell from the bathroom. When we told the host about it he said he didn’t smell it.
There was no hangers or shelves on the bathroom, the bathroom was cold with no heating, the elevator to the room smelled bad, and in general there was lack of things for comfort.
The host has a restaurant nearby and they serve breakfast to the guests.
The breakfast was poor and we had to pay extra for a decent coffee in a different place.
We asked twice to leave and get refund but the host refused with the excuse it’s a “non refundable booking” and also that “these are the prices in Positano”.
We left 2 nights before time and had to pay double for another hotel.

The host family, especially Alessandro were absolutely amazing. They are the best example of hospitality and flat out blew us away! Prosecco when we arrived, and even though the restaurant was closed he still threw some food together for us since we were starving. Always there to help us throughout the entire stay no matter what the time. And you are making a mistake if you don't take advantage of the breakfast! Il Fornillo is AMAZING!!

This was absolutely our favorite hotel of our entire trip. Margherita and her sisters are absolute DELIGHTS! We were met with a bottle of prosecco upon arrival and enjoyed the whole thing over great conversation with Margherita. The hotel is above the restaurant Il Fornillo, where we ate two nights in a row because the food was amazing - definitely try the tuna tartar! We stayed up until nearly 2AM drinking with Margherita, Alessandro, Antonio and Alfonso one of the evenings and it was hands down the most memorable stay of our 3-week tour of Italy. Many other locations in Italy say "breakfast included" and you get a package of biscuit cookies and instant coffee. Here, you will get fresh pastries, fruit, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and omelettes with fresh tomatoes -- it was a fabulous way to start our day, and we usually didn't have to eat again until dinner. Do yourself a favor and book early enough to reserve one of the few rooms at this Positano gem!
The whole stay was fabulous - only thing to note is it's up the hill of the town, so be sure to use the porter service for bags and take the public bus or taxi to get to the top when you arrive. Once you're there, there are convenient stairs to get right down to the beach, but it's 300+ steps -- so we opted to use the convenient city bus to get back up - which stops right near the front of the hotel! :)
