We had a fabulous stay at Charmae. Allan and Kathy are awesome hosts and really kind and caring. Thoughtful things throughout the house like cotton buds, coffee, coffee crystals. The house is pretty amazing and very spacious. It was really beneficial for us to have bedrooms separated by other spaces, so the bedrooms aren't all next to each other. We found that worked really well. We also had car trouble - Allan and Kathy were so helpful! I can't thank them enough for kindness.

Allan and Kathy have a beautiful guest house that is well located and feels like a home away from home. We really enjoyed staying at Charmae and highly recommend their guest house. Allan and Kathy are wonderful kind hosts. They welcomed up warmly and the house has little things that most places wouldn't think of like cotton buds, coffee, and sugar crystals! We stayed five nights in total, so on our return back through Wanganui, they even remembered my mum couldn't have the electric blanket plugged in - extremely thoughtful. It's the little things that really made us feel welcome. We also had car trouble. Allan and Kathy were so kind and helpful and even arranged for us to stay another night so we could get the car fixed and travel home safe. We really recommend staying at Charmae and are ever grateful to Allan and Kathy.

Our stay was amazing. The home was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The property owners were very welcoming and had organised everything for our arrival. Nothing was to much of an ask and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Great location central to everything. Our family had a place to unwind and relax after adventuring around Whanganui. Thank you to the owners for making our holiday a memorable one. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay and the house is as listed. Only complaint were the mattresses on the single beds. Might be okay for children, but not good for adults. All 4 adults that stayed in single beds complained. Other than that the property was perfect and the continental breakfast was a thoughtful addition.

This is an amazing place, especially to host a bigger group of people, nice warm house with lots of space. Owners are very helpful if needed and also give you privacy for your stay. Will be staying here again :)

This was a great place to stay. We were coming to Whanganui for a funeral and needed to book accommodation for the first time as all our family’s homes were full. In my angst I somehow managed to book the wrong dates but the hosts were incredibly understanding and went to great lengths to ensure the house was ready for us on the actual days we needed it. It was very clean and warm and welcoming, had everything we needed ( more, really) and gave us a lovely quiet space to retreat to during an emotional time. And it turned out to be really well sited for us as well. Thank you for a great stay - would absolutely recommend!!

Thanks for offering up your home. We had a great stay - a lovely respite break as my younger daughter has been ill for a year and we needed a break with her kids and my elder daughter with her baby. It worked very well for us all.

Amazing home and stay

Friendly host Alan, very accommodating and helpful. This Bach had a lot of hidden extras and finer touches; fresh linen on beds, extra snacks and condiments, the bathrooms were resourced with soaps, body washes, shampoos and conditioner- none of which was the cheap plastic kind you get in motels. The home itself catered for its numbers and had lovely asthetics with tourist information for the whanganui area. Simply a lovely home

The house is in a good location, well equipped with room to spread out in especially with 3 young children.

This property was everything we could possibly have wished for. Clean, commodious, our host was very pleasant friendly and helpful, and even encouraged the kids practising music on his piano in the house. We are all looking forward to the next visit
