Location was great. Pool was nice, beautiful pictures. Great terrace on the roof for views. Breakfast was nice.
Rooms were a bit dated. Was not as the pictures described. The faucet was broken. The shower head did not stand up. There was old left over soap bar from prior guest. Strange but a loud alarm went off at the front desk at 4am. Me and another guest were left trying to turn it off and were able to muffle the sound a bit so we could sleep.

The facility is fine and the person running the place is very pleasant and competent.
We will go back.

Beautiful, grand home. Lovely furnished, so much character. Room was large and roomy with lovely turret dressing room and large bathroom with bath. Pool was great, well appointed breakfast with coffee machine and cooked eggs, beatiful dining room and access to kitchen/ microwave / complimentary fruit all day. Clean and well kept, lovely friendly staff. Grounds and pool very welcoming, easy off street parking, couldn't believe the low price! Short drive to the Busaco National forrest.
Loved absolutely everything! Staff didn't speak English but used Google translate to communicate very effectively

Lovely old house. Great breakfast. Walking distance to town. Sylvia, the host, was very welcoming and sweet

Vila Aurora is quirky and totally lovable accommodation. It is unique and perfectly positioned very close to the amazing Busaco National Park and close to the beautiful cities of Coimbra and Aveiro. Better still, Sylvia is the host. She is as lovable as the breakfasts are adorable😀 Do yourself a favour and step into rural Portugal hospitality.
Absolutely nothing!! Only regret was not spending time in the famous Luso Thermal Baths ….next time😉

Silvia made our visit very welcoming. Lovely building.
The decking area needs a little maintenance, which seems to be in progress.
4.5
Exclusive accommodation in a 19-th century villa with old furniture and unique atmosphere. Good breakfast in an atmospheric dining room. Plenty of free parking space (but the entrance gate may be narrow for bigger cars). Excellent swimming pool. Beautiful sunsets from the observation deck on the top of the building.
You must have a car to stay here. There is nothing nearby. Territory next to the villa was somewhat smaller than we expected: mostly the swimming pool but no garden or lawns or something. Plus there was some renovation work ongoing in this territory which spoiled the enjoyment (I hope temporarily).

loved location, hospitality
no elevator … wasn’t warned there were old,
antique circular stairs to all rooms.

BreakfSt was to die for. Location excellent and a wonderful point of reference during a nightime walk around the town. We loved the quirky nature of the 130 year old building.
Although there was no kettle in the room, we had access to the facilities in the dining area and kitchen.

Sylvia is a delightful host! Room was a suite, comfortable and warm (November). Hot water for the shower, a must have for me. Easy walk to a delicious dinner in town of Luso. Amazing breakfast at the villa.
Narrow front gate is a bit tricky, best to come at it from above than below on the road.

the building and attention from the staff

Location. Breakfast was good.
Bathtub tap not functioning. Had to effect a repair myself. Bed frame is a toe breaker. Chairs are way past their best before date. The building was once magnificent and still exhibits evidence of that. Today it shows as faded glory.

Lovely small Chateaux, in Luso Spa town. The house is located within walking distance of Luso town centre, and close to Bussaco Green Park, a natural reserve and romantic park, where you can walk and discover an extraordinary botanical collection, including some giant trees.
The room toilet didn't have ventilation.

Facility is beautiful. Breakfast was great. Staff was awesome especially Silvia.
Very romantic. Loved the town of Luso.
CHARMING
The bed was tiny for two people and the bed was ROCK HARD. We were glad we were only staying one night. Smallest double bed I've ever slept in.

My wife and I spent one night in a "Superior Double Room with Hot Tub". We may well have been the only guests on that day and we had quite an amazing experience. Great check-in with a charming lady - no English from her side, no Portuguese from our side; only smiles, gestures and Google Translate and the process was enjoyable, smooth and easy :-)
This old castle took us back in time; old and elegant furniture; vibes from a couple of centuries ago; quite something!
Our room was spacious, super clean with a large en-suite bathroom. Just perfect!
Breakfast was absolutely OUTSTANDING; we could not think of anything else we would have wanted to enjoy!
We did not have time to take advantage of the big swimming pool outside; but be aware it is there.
5 STAR! A BRILLIANT option in Luso.

The continental breakfast was very good and tasty
The bed frame, a large wooden box that protrudes far from the mattress itself is a health hazard: I banged my leg hard on it and required medical attention. Also, the shower curtain smelled and was moldy.

a beautiful old villa full thanks of old world charm. beautiful rooms and a charming dining room used for breakfast service.
we don’t speak Portuguese and staff didn’t speak any English.

This place is a gem. It is an old mansion with beautiful rooms. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but we loved it.
3.5
It is a wonderful property, the parking in the paths of the garden. The Vila is a super beautiful building with a lot of originals. The floor, the stairs, it has a really nice vintage flavor.
The dark side of the vintage property is the poor maintenance with humidity spots and mod in some walls of the room.

Really good breakfast - wide range to chose. Maybe not for 4 days but for 2 is okay :). Nice swimming pool. Good rooms
Not everything works fine in bathroom. Some mechanical and electrical problems in room but can be ok.
3.5
Location; price; size o scrambled eggs plate
The rooms looked old; the carpet on the wall had hairs from previous couple; the tap water tap came out twice while having shower

Location great. Very old but very special
The air conditioning did not work and we were in the loft. At 40 degrees outside it was not comfortable

Woaow, the ambiance is amazing, feels like you've step back two centuries before.
Confortable and quiet bedroom.
My kids did very enjoy to climb the high tower !
Close by walk to the restaurant.
Amazing breakfast with service !! The dining room made us want to sing "be our guest"
Hosts did not speak english but they were very patient and they made us feel at home.
