Location. View in the room. Shower pressure great. Bed was very comfy.

Only 2 pods for coffee. Only 1 bath sheet although we were 2 people, only 1 bath robe. We did ask staff for towel and robe the next morning and they did give us.

Maybe it was the location, maybe just traffic, but it seems a way from downtown Sandton

Generally well kept facilities with good breakfast and restaurant menus and food quality also very good.

Breakfast was too congested with a long wait time and somehow this is about the only thing not too great. The room service did not adequately stock up the used coffees and teas and had to call to ask them to top up the sugars.

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent.

We reported a problem twice with the TV in our room. The problem wasn't resolved. I reported it a 3rd time on checkout. No offer was made to move us to a different room. My husband was watching a golf tournament so he was disappointed with the poor TV reception.

The bedding is not up to a 5 star grading. Let alone the duvet and overall linen

We found hair in the breakfast meal. The staff did nothing about it. We had to ask 3 times to speak to a manager before one appeared. We were still charged for the meal which we didn't eat. No comfort from the staff or managers

Excellent service from the front desk and at the restaurant. The breakfast was scrumptious and the rooms have all the amenities for a comfortable stay.

We've been staying here for years - the location is super-convenient for where we need to get to, always feels secure and the gardens and pool are beautiful. Friendly staff and well-cleaned rooms.

Pool maintenance is perhaps not up to scratch with cloudy water evident most days. The 'Mumm' champagne branded sun lounger covers were neither clean nor comfortable. The hotel is more than twenty years old now and the rooms and interiors are starting to date although room comfort levels are still ok - good bed and rather large pillows - but lighting, especially in the bathroom could be improved. Service levels, while always friendly, do seem to have deteriorated and there were inconsistencies in the breakfast offer and not necessarily the best communication as regards options (getting toast for instance always required asking staff). Orange juice quality, always a good bell-weather of overall quality was really just average and certainly not freshly squeezed. Over a four night stay one couldn't but get a sense of a touch of boredom, complacency and inertia on the part of the staff. The upstairs bar never seemed to be able to provide a full ice bucket - it seemed there was some issue with the machine. Poolside food and snacks also now being served in take-away boxes which seems out of keeping with the overall ambience and pitch of the place. On balance a comfortable stay but we'd really only be rushing back on grounds of location and the gardens.

I had the Vegan breakfast which was good.

Need to upgrade TV to smart TV.
