It is a dream, fairy-tale castle with a perfect reception staff and a most beautiful location. The rooms are delightful , the setting is like a film scene , worth a trip, definitely. The nearby village is absolutely gorgeous, walks from the hotel through the valley and the South Downs are delightful.

The quality of the restaurant is not up to the standard of the hotel, the service tried hard, but was not professional !

We spent a lovely family weekend trip in Amberley Castle. Beautiful gardens and comfortable rooms. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. We’d love to go back in the future.

would be amazing if it had a spa but that would take a-lot of money to build.

Breakfast very good, location stunning but a bit remote so you were really obliged to have dinner at the hotel which was quite expensive- very good quality but a limited choice & expensive at about £230 with one pre-dinner drink and one bottle of wine.

Only the dinner bill!!

A wonderful building in a beautiful & quiet location. comfortable lounges, good food and lovely staff.

My only gripe (and it is minor) is that I would have liked a choice of pillows. The only other factor that mitigated against a 100% rating was that it was priced for perfection!

The location

The room we had was very poor….tucked away in the attic and a rodent in the roof space making itself known during the night . Not a good experience . Set meal menu at £80 was not good value or memorable.

Amberley Castle is a stunning hotel/venue. It is immaculate and beautifully kept, of course steeped in history. The room, food and atmosphere is wonderful, however what really makes the difference are the people! All of the staff were so helpful, friendly and informative and really could not do enough to make sure you have a perfect stay and they work so incredibly hard but make it look effortless! I cannot thank them enough for making our stay for my Fiancé’s 50th birthday a fantastic experience!

Nothing, we had some issues with the heating in our room but it’s a castle and the staff sorted it for us. Only thing they need is a few EV chargers!

It was old with historical features

No fridge, no safe certainly shower tray was filthy. Would have been better off staying in the Black Horse Pub Amberley. Definitely wouldn’t come back. Very surprised they have a Relais and Chateau badge.
