Great location, only minutes from most shopping and pubs/restaurants. The walk to Windermere is about 1 mile and an easy walk. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and the staff are all friendly and helpful, especially Maria. We ate in the bar on our first evening and both of us enjoyed our meals.

We stayed four nights with no parking available we parked our car at the Lake Road Car Park, the cost was over £35.00, something worth considering when booking.

I found that the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the facilities were comfortable and to my liking.

Car parking in Ambleside is not very good at the best of times

perfect location in Ambleside, especially if you are eating at the Stamphouse

room/bathroom very small for the price and ours (2) was above kitchens as room/bathroom had strong food smell all night/day.

dog friendly away from the main bar so quiet

had to park quite a distance but one of those things

the property was clean and staff were friendly

we stopped in number 19 in the hotel and there was a dog next door that was crying and barking till 1.30am in the morning then its owners came back and had the television loud until 2.30am I finally fell asleep at 3am i was absolutely shattered in the morning and didnt have a very nice stay because of this

Lovely breakfast

The bar is very busy until close meaning that it’s very noisy until around 12pm. There was a live band on the night we stayed which we were not informed about upon booking. We were staying with children and the noise kept us all up until gone midnight. The beds were uncomfortable, two singles pushed together without a mattress topper.

Gorgeous stay at The Temperance Inn. We stayed outside in the little cottage with our dog. Lovely clean rooms, staff we so accommodating including ensuring we had welcome drinks ready on our arrive! Great breakfast and meals available through the day. Would definitely recommend, we will be staying again in the summer!

Could have had some fliers or info about things to do, food in restaurant was very expensive.. tried once and was pretty good, no free parking though 18 pound for three days, room was small for the price that was paid
