the only thing I can suggest they look at is to upgrade the breakfast food quality. Nothing wrong with the current, just dated as to what your average tourist is used to by now.

I loved it. parking was tight .. but managed.

I arrived at the tail end of load shedding. There were 2 more load sheddings scheduled during the night and morn of my 12 hour stay. I never got to shower. there was no hot water. I left in load shedding.

The friendlyness of Sue, the owner and all fhe staff. We had serious issues with our car, which make us arriving and departing late, and even if they haven't much to do with the booking itself, she was very helpful and so kind to resolve.

Breakfast was good

The accommodation is superb, staff amazing and the owner exceptional. Wonderful breakfast.

Swellendam is sort of okay for a one or two night stop but not somewhere we would recommend to other travellers.

Good location, lovely gardens and pool. Good breakfast.

No bar or restaurant for lunch of evening. The room we had was rather small and dark with shabby “antique “ furniture. Bathroom facilities poor, with no privacy.

Lovely hotel. Close to restaurants etc, however many restaurants closed on a Monday. Exceptionally clean, staff lovely, very nice breakfast

The breakfast was poor as the buffet was very limited and with only one person serving everyone the staffing was inadequate. No orange juice...yoghourt only on request the second morning and white bread for toasting mouldy on the first day. The cooked part of the breakfast was average.

As above , the property was understaffed.....one very willing person, Patience, at reception , cooking breakfast serving coffee irrigating the garden and cleaning the pool ! No senior management ever appeared.

It is a really nicely appointed place set in lovely surroundings. The staff (except for the owner/Manager) were very service minded, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately the behaviour and attitude of the owner/manager towards both his own staff as well as the guests, mange’s to spur our experience completely, to the point that we would not consider using this place again and would not recommend to others. His behaviour was abusive towards his staff and to guests to the point where one wonders if he should be in the service business at all.
