This is central, a 3 minute walk to the bus station for the ski field buses,same to the center of town. Its basic, but for the cost of a double bed room you will struggle to find anything else as convenient within Kms of the center of town.

They were painting out areas where my original room was but when I raised that I was not happy to be in a construction zone I was shifted to a room with a view and out of the painting area.

This is the worst backpacker i've stayed, after being to 30+ backpackers in NZ. The room is very smelly, dark and the other backpacker put their ski equipments on the floor that i could hardly step in to the room! The smell of the room make me feel like vomitting. Well, i understand that i cant expect it like a hotel or lodge, hence i reached out to the reception that i would like to upgrade my room and willing to pay more. But the reception keeps saying this is a backpacker. He sounds like 'what do u want?! This is a backpacker!". At last he checked in the system and said that there is no more room for me. I ended up give up the money i have paid for 2 nights and stayed in another backpacker that is CHEAPER AND CLEANER than this one. The bathroom,toilet,kitchen, room are all undermaintained and dark. 0 out of 5 i would rate this backpacker!

Poor facilities! Small and dirty bathroom. Dirty and torn carpets. The light is not working in the room. We have to move around in the dark. We book 3 beds, but they put us in different rooms.

I'm sorry to say that the house is designed like a maze, we couldn't find our room with the map. the common areas like toilets and corridors are dirty, The quilts are not clean nor comfortable. the soundproofing is not good, and although there are many signs kindly reminding people to be quiet, there is still a lot of noise from next door and walking sounds from the kitchen upstairs very early in the morning,

Blinds on the door (room 3) let light in.. we covered it with a towel - problem solved 🙂

The location is great. Walking distance to city.

The facilities are very basic and simple. The room can hears sounds of pipe running through the back of the room window.

Reception closed early, and opened late with no prior notice. Called the duty contact to find said contact was on holiday. Seriously poor customer service! Rooms grungy at best. Seriously overpriced, even for city location. Would not recommend.
