Good quiet location. Accommodation was exactly as shown in photos, all very clean. All the pots and pans you needed to cater for yourself. There is an iron and a hairdryer in the property even though it was not mentioned on the details.

It is always the little things that spoil the experience... no kitchen cleaning materials or washing up liquid - not everything can go in the dishwasher. Only 4 bath towels supplied, so no towel for the kitchen or drying up cloth. The mattress on the double bed was thin and had hollows and needs replacing. The only opening window was the door into the property, so on hot days it was quite warm! Did not use the washing machine as it needed a good clean out, and the only drying option was a light weight airer. The under cupboard kitchen lights did not work or the extractor hood over the hob. It would have been helpful if the owner had answered our calls and messages before the visit and we only saw them on the day we arrived and the day we left.

Cottage was excellent and location brilliant

Barn Owl is a beautiful barn conversion in a fantastic location. Extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated. The photos don't do it justice! Catherine and John are warm, welcoming and very helpful-despite being very busy with the farm and all that entails!! A great base for visiting north Devon and beyond, although in beautiful countryside it is very convenient for the towns of Bideford and Barnstaple which have great facilities. We were sorry to leave and hope to return.

The only thing is the king size bed. It is personal preference but we would have appreciated some sort of mattress topper for a little extra comfort!
