It was an incredible stay. The atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing, cozy and comfortable. We stayed for 3 weeks with our baby and we were so warmly treated every minute of our stay. Everyone ( Flor, Carlos, Carla, la Chiquitita the maintenance crew, the kitchen staff, Paola, even the cats and Pana) went above to make us feel welcomed. We were apprehensive at the beginning thinking it might not be a family friendly hotel but WE WERE WRONG. Truly our best stay in years. The team they've built is fun and warm and always willing to help and give relevant recommendations. We cannot recommend Sonido Del Mar enough <3

The only thing that could have been better is the luminosity in our room but that is really just a detail. We liked our room overall.

Amazing vibes, decor, and just so so beautiful. It was peaceful and serene and wonderful just to sit and take it all in.

They charge the same amount or more to rent bikes relative bike rental businesses in the area. It would have been nice for hotel guests to get a discounted price. I also thought the yoga classes could have been discounted more given that it is advertised as a yoga hotel.

I booked this hotel last minute and it was great! The workers were all so kind to me, accommodating, and helpful. The food was always really good and a good price. The hotel called me a shuttle to the airport, and got a taxi for me one of the days to the ruins. The yoga studio is very serene and the place as a whole had a beautiful aesthetic. There were two cute cats around sometimes. Overall I felt cared for by the staff and this was the perfect place to relax. It was also very close to the town center of Tulum. I would def recommend this place and stay here again.

Very cozy place with nice atmosphere and great people! Paula and Team are amazing that I felt like home during my stay. Nice and very big rooms with kitchen, AC, comfort bed and terrace. There is a beautiful pool as well cozy hammocks and couch area. Very delicious and fresh food is cooked in the nice restaurant all day long, also for vegetarian and vegans. Also a very good place to work remotely or just enjoy the time. I highly recommend it!

Amazing place to use as a base in Tulum. Even better if your into Yoga. Stayed for a week and it just kept getting better. Wonderful owner with her two daughters and extremely attentive staff. Excellent facilities and restaurant in a magical setting within an an area with plenty of alternatives.

A longer stay

we absolutely loved our stay here. the design of the studio was beautiful. the pool and garden area were like a little oasis of calm in Tulum. we loved it so much we stayed an additional 2 nights into our weekly stay. Our host was kind enough to provide us with yoga mats for self practice and yoga classes were available in the loft areas. the place was perfect!

This place is amazing, just as it is in the pictures, rooms are very nice and cozy, they are fully equipped and clean, the staff is great, we had a really good time chatting with Jordana, Pietro, Diego, Sebas, and Mr. Luca, there is a restaurant bar in the hotel, prices are very accesible and food is really good (Italians will never disappoint me in the kitchen). I would highly recommend this place, specially if you are a group of 5 or 6 people. Thank you guys for the hospitality.

Paola was such an amazing host, really kind and pays attention to all the smallest details. The property is so well taking care of, its right off a Main Street (close to amazing restaurants etc) but it still feels like a little oasis with an amazing secret garden and pool. We stayed in room 5 and it had the best sunny balcony. The restaurant downstairs is also really good so that’s another bonus!

We booked this place as the name implies it is a ‘Yoga place’ and has a holistic feel to it. But it seemed to us that yoga is more used as a way to market the business than it is embodied in the core business. Yes, yoga classes are offered, but it is not included in the price of your room, nor do you receive a discount as a guest. Besides that the price for a single class is much higher (300pesos) than what you would pay at nearby yoga spots, such as Holistika for instance. Also the restaurant doesn’t really have lots of healthy options and at night the bar plays techno music. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it wasn’t too loud and we enjoyed sitting there, but it just wasn’t the holistic vibe we were going for. The location of Sonido is great however and it is located in a street with lots of nice bars and eateries.

The apartment felt a bit outdated. The lighting was horrible (too bright, white) the atmosphere was lacking and some basic amenities were missing, such as a toiletroll holder, hooks to hang your towels in the (tiny) shower. The apartment could definitely make due with a bit of an update. We paid $200 for a room without breakfast, yoga or anything else and for this amount I expected a bit more value for money. Overall we were quite disappointed, which came as a surprise after reading so many raving reviews. We’re not high maintenance guests at all and don’t require a lot of luxury, but I do feel we paid way too much for what you get at Sonido. Next time we will stay at Holistika instead.

Great hosts, location, amenities -- beautiful digs. It's a little outside of Tulum Town, probably like a 15 minute walk to anything interesting -- but we thought the location was perfect. The hosts are also very nice and the food and drink they have downstairs is amazing.

Tulum has power outages, so please be aware before you come -- there's nothing the hosts can really do about that, you just wait it out until the power is restored. It happened to us like 2 or 3 times that week and did not seem abnormal. There was also a little bit of leaking in our room during a very heavy rain, but it didn't bother us (the leak wasn't near our stuff or the furniture) -- they're also probably going to fix it, but this is just part of living in a jungle area I think. Same with mosquitos at sunset and stuff -- it's part of vacationing in this area and not something to worry about.

We liked location, the food in the Italian restaurant that belongs to the hotel is excellent, the vibe is of Bali/Buddha/Yoga, good breakfast, nice touches, very friendly and helpful lady-host

We booked last minute and got the last available room which was a spacious studio, but it faced the restaurant side and you could hear music until 12 (we just arrived after long flight so was not a problem for us as we were too tired), the fridge was too loud too, the shower was warm but not hot

The owner and her daughters are lovely. Also the staff is super nice. The public area for chilling and relaxing attracts likeminded people also from outside for breakfast and co.

Beautiful place with all the necessary amenities and an amazing yoga studio. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

It is quite far from town and the beach but there are still places to eat around and it is quiet.

We loved our stay at Sonido del Mar! The hotel is very charming. The vibe was exactly what we were looking for. Paola and her staff were super nice and helpful - and super kid friendly. We loved the location: close to the center but in a quiet street (easy access and walking distance from nice restaurants). The beach is a bit further but you can bike there or easily go by car (free parking in front of the hotel). We would go again to Sonido del Mar. Thank you!
