The Hummingbird, an adults-only property, provides a serene, natural environment to relax and enjoy everything Bocas del Toro has to offer. Betsy and Gary are the most welcoming hosts who help with arranging excursions or sharing their knowledge of the surrounding area. I can recommend to stay at this property without any hesitation - we will be back for sure!

We stayed in the middle of the nature. Entire acommodation has created a symbiosis with nature. Good selection of wine, i also liked to have dinner there. I could recommend for animal lovers. You can See near you monkeys, sloths, Iguana and a lot of Hummingbirds. BETSY and Garry very nice hosts.

The Hummingbird is the real Paradise on Earth. When we travel we like to explore and experience as many things as possible, but it is also very important for us to have an accomodation with comfort and… I admit: luxury. I was curious if a bed and breakfast place can satisfy our needs, but it did, and it did much more. The Hummingbird was a much pleasant experience than the many 5star luxury resorts we stayed so far. Its beautiful garden is the garden of Eden with hummingbirds, sloths and a colorful carpet of thousand flowers. Our suite was super clean and extra comfortable with a breathtaking view of the garden and the sea (if we opened the balcony doors in the morning the sun did rise right in our bed). The place also has the best kitchen I experienced in a hotel so far with a fantastic breakfast and various choices for dinner made right there freshly. The menu changes daily. We also had a top10 massage experience in this beautiful environment. This amazing place has its soul and spirit from the wonderful hosts, Betsy and Gary, who are super-friendly and always smiling, and they helped us organizing any kind of activity we just wished for. Their whole team is just exceptional. So… this is a place everyone should visit! At least once. We for sure will come back again because we already miss The Hummingbird and the many wonders of Bocas del Toro. ❤️

We liked everything about this place. The rooms were large and very clean, the food was excellent, Gary and Betsy were super helpful and willing to book us tours and taxis. The beach was one of the best and we ended up being there during a time when it was completely swimmable. The wildlife was great, lots of monkey and bird sightings. Highly recommend, fantastic!

Excellent stay in this lovely hotel. Despite not having AC my room was cool. I saw toucans, lots of other beautiful birds and butterflies. Very relaxing setting. Watched the surfers at the beach. Chilled by the pool with a cocktail😀

If you are a light sleeper take earplugs, the waves might keep you up but we found it very relaxing

The property at Hummingbird is amazing. SO many birds and butterflies to observe. The hosts and staff were awesome too - very accommodating and helped us with getting taxis and setting up a boat tour. The restaurant had excellent food and the breakfast was always so tasty. A great way to start our day!

This place is a tropical garden of Eden. We stayed in the Ginger room, which was spacious and extremely well finished in a tropical decor. They could of called this place The Butterfly, as not only did we see at least 10 different species of hummingbirds, we also saw many different species and sizes of butterflies. The shower was finished in the most beautiful tile we've seen and the shower itself was a dream to experience. Hosts Bestsy & Gary were most accommating with whatever we needed . For breakfast we were served fresh fruit, fresh juice and a delicious hot meal. We would definitely feel comfortable recommending The Hummingbird as we thought this bed and breakfast was a 10 out of 10

Gary and Betsy were incredible hosts from the moment we arrived to the last goodbye wave in the taxi they arranged us to depart. They have put a lot of love into their ecologically conscious facilities. Every need was attended to, even having an item delivered from a nearby gift shop and selling a bottle of their incredible hot sauce. It was also the best food we ate on the entire island. Hummingbird represented an excellent value.

3 nights wasn’t enough! You do need to travel a bit for a beach suitable for swimming, but they can guide you there for a nice hike.

everything was very good. The room, the staff, the food, the place. In one word « perfect ». Thank you for these 6 fantastic days of holidays.

Great location for nature lovers especially if have an interest in birds and amphibians. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic large trees with good facilities in a relaxed environment. Loved the beach access. Breakfast and dinner variety and quality was good. Gary went out of his way to show us the wildlife, especially the various frog species and sloths.

Absolutely lovely place! i was amazed by the sounds of waves, birds and animals. Rooms are spacious and stylish, they have everything you might need and even more (beach bag, towels, water bottles). Hotel’s territory is stunning with all the greens, I loved the relaxing area with the books and comfy beds. Breakfasts, drinks, dinners - everything was very delicious!

i didn’t know that swimming is not possible at Bluff’s beach. Thar was the only one disappointment, but it’s not about the hotel. however, I’m glad that I had a chance to come to the amazing place and will be back for sure!

the venue is wonderful. you can hear the seawaves from the bed. breakfast is nice and the vibes are so cool. Playa Bluff is one of the most veautiful Beach es i’ve ever seen and it’s just 1 minute walking.

Everything flowed in a simple, non invasive, confortable, beautiful, clean and delicious pace. Just steps from a breathtaking, off the beaten path beach. Accommodations are excellent, blended with the environment luxury. I feel ver grateful for my time at The Hummingbird.

The hotel is off-grid and does a lot to protect the environment (cloth napkins, fan instead of AC, solar power and many things more). The food there is freshly-cooked and tastes amazing. What we really enjoyed is that they also offer a great choice of vegetarian dishes. The owners are very helpful and friendly and care about your personal needs. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the interior is really tasteful.

The sunbeds at the pool could be a bit more comfortable.

From the moment you step into the resort, you can feel you’re in a special place. With a beautiful mix of jungle and beach, the setting couldn’t be more ideal. So much thought and care was put into everything here. We loved that it was eco-friendly. Everyone was so friendly and kind, and the food was fantastic, best on the beach by FAR. Highly recommend and hope to come back.

Betsy & Gary thought of everything. From water bottles to beach bags. Amazing property with beautiful gardens. Room was very comfortable and large. Mattress was very comfortable. Dinner was outstanding. Can’t say how much we enjoyed our stay. Simply fabulous!!!

We couldn't rate this more highly. The room was stunning and well equipped with a very comfy bed, the gardens were lovely and a great pool. Betsy and Gary went above and beyond as did all the restaurant and bar staff. They serve delicious cocktails and we had the best steak we've ever had at their Saturday BBQ night. Falling asleep to the sound of the Playa Bluff waves was very calming. We will definitely be back, highly recommend.

There was nothing to not like! We loved everything! Betsy and Gary are the most gracious hosts. They and the amazing staff took excellent care of us and all our needs. If we needed or wanted something it was there before we asked.

beautiful place in the. middle of paradise lost. a real jewel in the Caribbean. perfect blend of nature, full of monkeys and birds and miles of virgin clean beach. Just perfect to be topped off with a perfect mojito by the pool and delicious dinner.

A piece of Paradise in the jungle ! Gary and his wife are super attentive and careful for each clients. The room was stunning with so many kind and useful details. We´ve seen sloths, monkeys and so many birds. Park is designed so well, in the mid of nature!

What an incredible beautiful place to stay! Betsy and Gary do an amazing job in order to make you feel the best they can. They really are dedicated to their clients! The garden they created is surrounded by the magical hummingbirds. They’re always willing to show animals around. They were exceptionally nice! You can walk around in the jungle, with all the sounds of the howling monkeys, and infinite numbers of birds. The room was beautiful and extra clean. You can fall asleep with the sound of the waves , it is a paradise! And one thing that is very important to me, they are ecologically extremely responsible and they try to protect and develop endangered species that lives around them. We will go back as soon as we can.
