Rien à part les femmes de l'accueil le lendemain qui nous ont trouvé un taxi pour partir (+petit déjeuner préparé mais que nous n'avons presque pas touché)

Pour expliquer la situation : Nous sommes deux jeunes femmes de moyenne d'âge de 25 ans. Arrivées pour une nuit de transit avec un vol le lendemain à Dar Es Salam. A notre arrivée le taxi est obligé de klaxonner à une porte blindée (aucune indication de l'hotel) pour pouvoir accéder à l'établissement, ce qui ne nous a pas du tout rassuré. A l'intérieur, des gardes présents. Nous sommes accueillies par le réceptionniste dans le noir complet (apparament pas d'électricité ?!), seulement muni d'une petite lampe anti-moustiques... ambiance lugubre et mettant mal à l'aise . Dans le séjour commun, nous avons été encerclé par une quinzaine d'Hommes avec des regards insistants... (des habitants par ailleurs apparemment) nous avons été suivies par ces derniers jusqu'à notre logement. Au point nous nous sommes demandés si nous étions arrivé au bon endroit... La chambre ou dirais je le "bunker" était très vétuste, douche, toilette côte à côte, 1 chaise en plastique, 1 petit frigo... les fenêtres étaient entourées de barreaux. Nous avons indiqué au réceptionniste notre inquiétude vis à vis de la situation... du fait que nous étions 2 jeunes femmes seules et il nous a ri au nez. Il est revenu dans notre chambre et avec un comportement etrange, pas adapté et familier. Le sentiment d'insécurité a été extrême pour nous. Nous n'avions pas confiance le lendemain non plus, même envers le taxi. Au passage, il semblerait que le 3/4 des logements soient des logements occupés non pas par des touristes mais par des locaux. Très mauvaise expérience, angoissante. En tant que jeunes femmes voyageant seules à l'étranger : à fuir !

I love the huge compound as it gave our children plenty of options for roaming and passing the time for the day. Breakfasts were amazing and generous compared to the norms of Tanzania hotels.

I didn't appreciate that our reservation was meaningless since other guests arrived earlier in the day and took all the A/C rooms. For this reason, we were assigned non-A/C rooms. I appreciated the willingness of the staff to give us a break on an additional room because of this mistake on their part.

The breakfast was good and we could have breakfast a bit earlier since we were leaving early for the Dala dala station in the morning. Security seems good, it is like a small gated village of cottages.

The cottages only have three beds so we asked beforehand if we could have an extra bed since our family is 4 persons. We got reply that an extra bed is possible but on arrival there were still only three beds (the cottages probably don´t have room for an additional bed), resulting in us having to pay for two cottages instead of one. Since the location is not very good, heavy traffic outside the property and no way of walking around, and the rooms don´t have ac but only fans, this was not very good value for the money.

The property consists of many individual bungalows inside a gated area which felt very secure and quiet. In our first room the shower did not work and we were promptly moved to a new room. The staff were very helpful and booked us a driver, who was very reliable.

There were quite a few mosquitos in our second room so maybe the window mesh was damaged or had been left open - we didn't notice anything as we were moved to this room after nightfall.

This is a lovely friendly place to saty. Loved the little hut-like rooms and the staff were exceptional (hello Mary and Michael)

The areas of improvement are not aboout the lodge, but it's worth travellers knowing that in this part of the world electricity, wifi and tap water may not be 100% reliable.
