Fabulous staff and room is lovely! Great location!
It was great!

It was my second time staying at the Temple House, and everything was great! The owner and staff are super attentive and welcoming, the rooms are beautifully decorated and well-equipped, the location is amazing—just a stone's throw away from Patan Durbar Square and surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and shops—and the breakfast is filling and delicious. I will be coming back for sure!
No complaints, really! Just a suggestion to make shampoo / shower gel available in the bathrooms :)

I absolutely loved the kind, courteous, extremely helpful staff. I felt they were so eager to help at any point. Some of the sweetest people I've ever met. Also, breakfast was very simple but fresh, made to order. The location is great if you want to experience the authentic Nepali lifestyle in Kathmandu.
The noise just outside the back alley one night was quite loud up until 1 am. The rooms have no real windows, just wooden blinds, therefore the noise was quite intense. Also, the bathroom wasn't the cleanest.

The character of the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful 🙂

The staff were very friendly, loved the breakfast! It’s a traditional house so there is a steep narrow staircase but it is easy to navigate. The furnishings were beautiful. You can access the rooftop and see views of the city.
The shower was a bit hard to use, the floor got very wet due to no curtain or barrier in the bathroom.

Lovely traditional style Nepali terrace house with great atmosphere. Beautiful helpful staff and host. Great location near Durbar square to explore Patan. We’d happily stay here again. If you are looking for traditional vibe and experience this is the place.
Be mindful the staircases are very narrow and steep, and ceilings quite low. No problem for us and added to the experience. The hosts were very helpful moving luggage up and down.

We had a very short one night stay in this hotel, but it really did an impression on us. This hotel is ancient compared to where we stayed in Nepal before. The historical atmosphere of this place is definitely worth the money. The traditional architecture, furniture, in room amenities are very rare in hotels. No elevators, but the staff will carry your luggage up the stairs.
We really enjoyed it.
The reception staff was very helpful, everything was well organised. If you stay in Patan area, I really recommend this place.

The room was felt full of character, with a great view over the action-filled sidestreet
The shower wasn't very hot

All of the staff were beyond amazing, always going out of their way to help me with anything I needed.
Breakfast was delicious and huge.
The room was amazing.
I felt like it was my home away from home and will definitely stay when I am back.
I was a first time visitor to Nepal and everyone I know that had been there recommended staying in Thamel but my gut instinct said no.
I made the right decision (Thamel is a shot motorbike or car ride away). Coming back to Temple house felt like returning to a sanctuary.
Patan is absolutely beautiful.

location and the style

Super nice place in the middle of beutiful Patan, the rooms were very nice and the hotel was located in walking distance to everything. Owner and staff super nice and helpful.
Even with the sound protection in the room, the road outside my room was super noisy because of the busy street outside. In the night it was not that bad though.

The location, staff, room decor.
Food( too much overpriced ), facilities ( broken faucet, broken switchboards)

It’s located at the centre of Patan. And it’s an ancient building. My stay at Temple House was a short one but it’s definitely very memorable. The staff were very helpful in making sure I arrive at the airport on time. Also, the bed is so comfortable!

For a start, Temple House is one of the few hotels which accommodate late check ins and an airport pick up, which is highly recommended if you arrive at ungodly hours like we did.
Temple House occupies a corner of a traditional block of accommodation, with rooms overlooking both the middle courtyard and a single alleyway leading to the Durbar Square. We were warmly welcomed in the middle of the night. WiFi was sorted, and the schedule and order for breakfast was also noted.
With a traditional interior, the room is quite cozy and homely for a start. The handful of staff attending to the guests are very kind, thoughtful and always smiling.
While basic amenities are available at Temple House, it sometimes could get a bit complicated to maneuver a change of clothes. Head room in the room is set at traditional standards and hence I’ll advice relatively taller guests to specifically book rooms at the higher levels, which has got more head room than Levels 1 and 2.
As the property is located in a bustling neighbourhood, the surrounding activities could get a bit noisy especially for those who want to have a sound late sleep.

Great room with excellent bed. The guy at thé reception that speaks fluently English is just amazing. He is so helpful and motivated!
Thé bathroom is a bit small, there is hot water but it takes quite some time to have it.

Great location in the heart of Patane very close to Patan Darbar Square. Very friendly and helpful staff.
I suffered terribly from the cold. The windows only have doors and no glass. So if you open the windows you suffer from the cold. The shower does not work properly, the hot water is hard to get and it freezes in the room.
The same thing happens in the breakfast room. An icy wind sweeps through the room, chilling the food (and people too) in seconds.

We stayed in Temple house for 6 nights in 2 rooms. The location was great. But the friendliness of all staffs, manager and the owner was exceptional. If someone is looking for proper Nepalese living and hospitality , this place will be perfect. They were there for any help needed during our stay.
Someone may find the height of the rooms are uncomfortable, but this is how the traditional Nepalese houses used to be. They offered us to move to higher floor rooms with more heights as it was available, but we chose to continue in the lower rooms.

The owner Satish was extremely friendly and helpful, as were all staff. The location, just off Patan Durbar Square, is unbeatable. The hotel is very atmospheric, with lovely dark wood beams and tasteful decorations and furniture. It’s the little things that make it special, eg the recessed backlit wall ornaments. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
