Super séjour dans une maison très accueillante et bien disposée. La situation géographique est magnifique, la vue depuis la maison très jolie. Le hot tub un réel plus très appréciable. Une semaine formidable, location à conseiller 😉👍🏻

A little of of town (15 min via toll, 25 over pass) but great scenery and quiet, which is what we were going for. Good size for our group of 8, kids had a blast picking wild blueberries right on the property. Saw the northern lights while sitting in the hot pot!

We had an amazing week at Hamragil. (It was our favorite place we stayed in all of Iceland!) The view is amazing. The hot pot is extraordinary. Everything about our stay was perfect. Jon is the ideal host -- extremely responsive & quick to communicate with us about potential winter storms. The house is well-stocked, clean, comfortable. My kids found sleds in the shed & there are perfect sledding hills right on the property. The house is in a great location to explore everything in Akureyri, Husavik, Myvatn. If you are considering booking Hamragil, do it! You will be well taken care of & you will not regret it!!

Ferienhaus ist gut von Akureyri erreichbar. Tunneldurchfahrt ist leider Mautpflichtig aber man kann auch die Umgehung fahren. Das Haus an sich ist sehr gut ausgestattet und hat alles was man braucht. Wir waren kurz eingeschneit was nach Kontaktaufnahme mit dem Vermieter schnell geräumt wurde. Schlafzimmer finde ich persönlich etwas zu klein dafür war der Wohnbereich sehr großzügig. Der überdachte Balkon hält auch im Winter die Schneemassen fern :-). Wir könnten nachts auch Nordlichter beobachten da man alle Lichter ausschalten kann was bei unseren anderen Unterkünften nicht möglich war.

We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable and spacious lodge. We very much enjoyed the hot tub after long days out sightseeing and the lodge had everything we needed for a great stay. Great communications & smooth check in process.

Une maison superbe, très spacieuse, parfaitement bien équipée. Une vue superbe, un endroit extrêmement calme, a 20mn d'akureyri par la route sans péage. Rien de mieux pour se ressourcer et profiter de la beauté de la nature. Des myrtilles en quantité 30 metres au-dessus de la maison et des perdrix qui viennent au pied de l habitation😊 Nous reviendrons tester l hiver car endroit parfait pour les aurores boréales Merci Jon🤗😁

Wir kamen mit einer befreundeten Familie nach Island. Das Haus war für uns zu zehnt perfekt. Sehr gut eingerichtet und einen herrlichen Hotpot! Schön und praktisch gelegen, um alle Aktivitäten im Norden des Landes zu entdecken!

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit in Hamragil. Hütte toll, Lage toll, alles bestens.

This cabin was perfect for our group of 10. The kitchen was well stocked and the host even went so far as to leave us a bottle of champagne on arrival. The hot tub was extremely pleasant to use after long hours of hiking. There is a creek that runs right in front of the cabin and you can step out the door and do some hiking without ever getting in your car. This place is a 10.

Loved it! Everyone had their own room. Clean and well appointed. 2 full baths, all needed kitchen appliances, pots and pans, etc. We only had to buy groceries and saved a bundle cooking “at home”.

Jon has put the attention to detaiil in Hamragil. The kitchen had everything we needed to feed our group of 10. Lots of beds and places to sit and relax. The hotpot was a nice touch after a long day of travel and hiking. We will definately be back.

This property was very comfortable, spacious, and close ( central) to lots of points of interest. All the amenities needed, n Jon was accessible if we needed to contact him. There were 6 if us and the accommodations were perfect, it felt like home but these views were very picturesque. The hot pot, very relaxing after a long day of photographing n sightseeing. Would definitely recommend this property to stay for any length of time.

We had an amazing time at Hamragil. The cottage was perfect for our group and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. Some of the things we saw and really recommend visiting are: Goðafoss & Dettifoss (waterfalls), DimmuBorgir (volcanic rock formations), Hverir (geothermal area), Krafla & Verfjal (volcanoes), Ásbyrgi (canyon), Grjótagjá (natural geothermal spring). The last day of our holiday we enjoyed a great dinner at Bautinn. Bautinn Restaurant is situated right in the heart of Akureyri, the building itself is one of the oldest in Akureyri. We had an amazing holiday and we wish that you all can and will enjoy it as much as we did! If you want to go to Northern Iceland then Hamragil is the place to stay. Die Aussicht ist ein Traum! Der Whirlpool ist echt cool. Wir waren 12 Personen (6 Erwachsene und 6 Kinder) und das Haus war gemütlich. Leider gab es 2 kleine Betten, das war für unsere großen Kinder nicht ganz optimal. Husavik, Myvatn und Akureyri waren gut zu erreichen. Das Quartier ist sehr zu empfehlen.

First of all, Jon was fantastic. I had several questions before our trip and he answered all of them via email very quickly. The property is wonderful. It was very secluded and very comfortable. There were 6 of us staying at the property and we had 4 other friends that came over from Akureyi and joined us for dinner and cards. It was perfect for 10 people. We cooked breakfast each morning and dinner each night. The location is 15 minutes from Godafoss falls and convenient to Akureyi and the Lake Myvatn are. I highly recommend this property.

Central located close to Akureyri. Perfect for day trips to the great attractions of North Iceland . Great hot top to relax after a day of exploring. Awesome views. Well stocked with dishes for bigger groups. Out for the way but still centrally located. Feels like home away from home. John was extreme helpful and answered all questions we had in the fastest possible way (and we had a lot). Definitely will stay here again

La casa dispone di tutti i confort. Sia per la dotazione della cucina che per l'hot pot. L'unico punto negativo è la scarsa pressione dell'acqua sia in cucina che nei bagni. Noi abbiamo usato la casa come base per le aree attorno al Lago Myvatn, Husavik e Akurery e si è dimostrata molto comoda.

Hamragil provided a perfect base to explore the coast of Northern Iceland. Scenery? Spectacular. Space in the lodge-like setting: Just right. The living room offered views of glacier-covered mountains. The kitchen is well-appointed. Access (key etc.) was easy. We looked forward each day to returning to the solitude of Hamragil, an easy 15- or 20-minute drive from Akureyri. And don't miss the creek that runs along the property, just beyond the birch grove. As for the basics: The description is indeed accurate. The house was clean. Jon couldn't have been more helpful in making sure we found the house, the key and everything we needed. I'd recommend this to friends, family, colleagues: Anyone who wants a quiet, cheerful and spacious holiday home. Attractions: Lake Myvatyn, of course, and all the waterfalls. But also the scenery right there surrounding Hamragil.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hamragil. The view is spectacular. The bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The hot pot was a nice relaxing end to the day. We made all our dinners there and enjoyed the lovely view as we ate. Jon was helpful as we had not brought all the directions we needed and he was quick to respond with all the information when we contacted him on his cell phone. The second bathroom was not completed yet and we did fine with the one bathroom. It is about 15-20 mins from town. We got our food from the local grocery store and that worked out well. Easy trip to go whale watching. Overall, it was a great experience and great location.
