The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was warm and cosy. Lovely breakfast freshly cooked to order. There was a wealth of information about local attractions and things to do.

Genuine informative welcoming hostess. Our outside restaurant cancelled our reservation that evening, and our hostess rang another restaurant and booked us in. Great meal. Breakfast was outstanding. Location central, walked along the beach front. Room was comfortable.

We had a warm, welcome greeting, given lots of information about the local area with places to eat, walks and activities. Liz offered to look after our dog whilst we are ... a kind gesture and much appreciated. The breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce and hot! Delicious

The room was excellent and was designed for wheelchair users, for whom it was ideal. The owner was wonderful and the other staff member was very friendly. A great breakfast and a very good nights sleep. I would highly recommend.

Un B&B génial ! Idéalement placé à Thurso, dans une petite rue très calme, à 200 m de la plage et à 5 mn à pieds des commerces et restaurants. Chambre immense, confortable, avec un lit king size. Les petits déjeuners sont délicieux, les meilleurs que j'ai pu avoir depuis longtemps !!! Et évidemment l'accueil est fantastique !

A friendly warm welcome, beautiful room (The biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in 😊) and lovely breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer.

There was nothing not to like.

Lovely old house, quiet, full of character, and my bedroom was cozy and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t have been more welcoming, even making my room available first thing so I could check in and get dressed for a lunchtime wedding. Oh and breakfast next morning was delicious!

Only a very minor thing…the washbasin in my bathroom (Hoy) was a little slow to drain, didn’t trouble me, but might need unclogging?

Liz was such a good host Very friendly and helpful And booked a table for us at the local pub for dinner which was excellent

This was my first experience at a bed in breakfast and let me tell you, it was exceptional period Liz, the innkeeper, and her lovely old dog made me and my boyfriend feel very welcome period she was the right combination of friendly but not nosey, helpful but not overbearing period the room was clean and well appointed and it seems each room was decorated with the theme which was very cute period the guest book was full of loads of information on the building itself and the area and had we been in town for longer than one day we would have had plenty to do period breakfast was cooked to order and everything was wonderful!

Proprietor was extremely helpful and friendly, and went out of her way to make sure everyone enjoyed their stay. She provided easy access to lots of helpful local information. The location was very close to the water and town attractions, and walkable to dining options in Scrabster. My room was small (as expected; it was a single) but very comfortable and even had a desk for me to get some work done. The breakfast was made to order and very plentiful and delicious. The parking area was big and there was no need for tricky maneuvering, the way I've found at some other lodgings in Scotland. This was a great value and I'd happily stay here again if back in the area.

The rooms were pretty close together so I could easily hear conversation, nose blowing, etc from the other guests.

Best place I’ve been on the NC500. Beautiful big house with amazing rooms, so many space. Really friendly woman who (I think) owns the place. Making good breakfast and felt very welcome there. Location was fine, 5 min walk to the center of town. Great parking space also.

Great staff and breakfast

Everything was spot on, comfortable room with all facilities we needed. Breakfast was brilliant and the staff were all great incredibly attentive. Lisa was a star for organising our breakfast ready for us to leave early on the Sunday. We will definitely be back.

Beach is less than 5 mins walk and you get a great view from hotel itself. Breakfast was really tasty and staff very attentive. Was very clean and no noise throughout the stay. Bathroom looked very new and modern.

Never slept on a single bed with both sides open to fall so that was the only struggle.

Spacious

Our room was very cold upon arrival the radiators had been turned off. We needed a rest after camping and couldn’t get warm but thank fully the heating came on later in the day and it changed the room completely and we settled much better after that.
