Alles. Warm, gezellig, schoon. Prima plek om een tijdje te verblijven. Ontbijt ook zalig!

we returned for a second visit, as before we were delighted by Pamela's friendly, warm welcome. We enjoyed the comfort of our room and having access to the kitchen to make a late cuppa was a great bonus. Pamela gave us helpful tips for places to visit. The Casa is in a wonderful location, in a charming area, close to loads of restaurants and the Metro.

The staff was very friendly and the bed and breakfast were very nice. Our bedroom and bathroom were very large compared to some of the other places we stayed in Chile. We had a great breakfast and the staff was nice enough to let us leave our bags for a few hours after we checked out. We'd definitely stay here again.

Klasse Hostal mit sehr ruhiger und dennoch zentral. Aus unserer Sicht die beste Gegend in Santiago. Wir haben uns wie zu Hause gefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

O Hostel é excelente, viajei sozinha pela primeira vez e me senti super segura.

The host is so kind and thoughtful; breakfast is delicious.
Nothing to complain about.

A very well located stay, with very comfy interiors and terrace. Rooms are not big, but big enough to rest during the night. Beds are pretty good too and staff is very helpful and accommodating. Definitely give it a shot if you are in Santiago.
Beds can get a little cold, even if they have a heater in room. A good pajama can easily fix it though.

Very friendly, kind, helpful host. Convenient location
Old facilities and too tiny bathrooms for the price. Hot water in one of our rooms didn't work, so we had to take a shower with icy cold water and unfortunately it was a freezing winter day.

The location of Casa La Barca is superb! It is in a safe, reasonably affluent, quiet, and convenient area of Santiago. As a solo traveller, I did not feel nervous walking back to the hostel every day/night. Pamela and Evi are fantastic and kind people who genuinely care about their guests. Every morning, they made me a delicious breakfast and chatted with me about Chile, Santiago, travel and safety tips, and their life stories (even though there was still some communication barrier as I don't speak Spanish). Pamela was highly responsive during my stay and immediately replied to my messages. Overall, my experience with Casa La Barca was more than positive. I felt like I was staying at my aunt's place.
The hostel is not very soundproof, though understandably, given the age of the building. However, I had no problem since I have the habit of wearing earplugs when sleeping. Plus, the guests there were very respectful and quiet at night. Honestly, I am just nitpicking here because this hostel is nearly perfect.

Beautiful, family owned and run bed and breakfast with charming rooms. Breakfast was a highlight!

I booked the hotel because it was cute and I entered a place that immediately gave a homey vibe. I was warmly welcomed and treated with exceptional kindness. When I told them I couldn't eat breakfast (celiac) the owner found and shared a certified gluten-free candy with me that she told me was very Chilean. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable with a very nice shower. I would 100% book again when I return to Santiago.
Honestly, I didn't have anything I didn't like, my stay exceeded expectations.

Superb setting. Beautiful boutique style hotel with helpful staff. The proprietor went above and beyond to sort out a taxi for me and helped with any queries. She also let us take out our breakfast because we wanted to rise early and see the view at San Christobal hill and supplied us with foil and serviettes. The garden at the back of the hotel was a relaxing place to take breakfast and our bedroom had a little balcony which was useful. Kitchen facilities were very good and fresh water, tea and coffees at hand.
I can’t think of anything

Loved this place! The common areas are really cozy and have a nice social feel, the building is beautiful, the breakfast was great, and the hotel had actually already put someone in my room so they gave me a free upgrade. The hosts are very sweet people and are very happy to help you in whatever way you can. Definitely would stay again!

If you are just arriving in Santiago (or in Chile, as I was), go stay with Pamela (you can pick up a taxi from the designated spot at the station - only get an official one, only a few accept cards). She could not be more welcoming or helpful. She patiently answered all my questions and told me where to explore locally (Barrio Italia is on the doorstep and has ALL THE FOOD and bars and bars and bars. You are also close to the funicular). She also explained where wasn't safe in the city and gave me security tips, which were very helpful (be really careful at cajeros - try and use the ones in supermarkets or malls with guards). You will need to pay at the property on arrival (normal here) and she has a card machine. She also took the time to show me around the beautiful old house which was quiet and cool. It has two terraces and two kitchens and guests are really welcome to make themselves at home. My single room was a bit small, but I am a bit small so it was OK. It was quiet and so cool at night that I didn't need a fan or aircon which made a very welcome change. My bathroom was shared, but very clean and with everything provided. There was never anyone else in mine when I wanted to use it. The house is in a beautiful area and is well-connected by metro, which is very clean and efficient and safe. I only wish I could have stayed longer and I'm jealous that you get to go.
Room could have been a bit larger. My stay was too short.

I really liked the owner/hostess. She was friendly, helpful, and generous.
This hostel is in a nice and safe neighborhood with some great food options (Barrio Italia district) not too far away. If you're looking for a quiet hostel, then this place might be for you.

From the moment we arrived Pamela made us feel so welcome and at home. We had a lovely, spacious room with a balcony and access to use a kitchen upstairs. The beds were comfy, great air con and the place is so tranquil.
Pamela is honestly the kindest host and gave us great advice and a lovely breakfast each morning with delicious local produce.
I unfortunately had my phone stolen by a thief on a moped in Barrio Italia (br very careful in Santiago!) and Pamela was so helpful calling the police, helping me explain what happened to them and helping me to calm down and feel better after.
I would highly recommend Casa La Barca to anyone staying in Santiago.
Nothing - everything was great.

Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very nice, TV with Netflix, with tap water, a very comfortable bed and wardrobes.
It's a kind of small very good equipped hotel room in a hostel atmosphere!
The breakfast is awesome too

Casa La Barca is a comfortable and characterful house in a peaceful and central neighbourhood. Pamela was friendly, helpful, welcoming, and made delicious breakfasts. It was easy to have pleasant conversations with the other guests, at the breakfast table or elsewhere. All in all, it felt more like staying with a friend than visiting a hotel!
No complaints at all.

Hands down THE BEST place I stayed at during my 3 month trip in South America. The owner Pamela is wonderful and makes you feel right at home. The location is fantastic, breakfast is amazing and very filling (the French press coffee is so good), and the hostel is very quiet and very clean.
I worked remotely during my time there, and the wifi connection was great - I could hop on multi-person video calls and access iCloud/Keynote without a problem. There's also a lovely upstairs patio space.
Could not recommend enough.
