Nous avons adoré notre expérience chez Calathea Lodge. L'appartement de l'étage a un petit balcon adorable. Nous y avons vu plusieurs oiseaux. Nous recommandons cet établissement les yeux fermés.

Our daily breakfast was consistently delicious and always served with a smile! We really enjoyed the “traditional” and have since attempted to replicate it at our condo in Coco Beach! The staff were outstanding! 5 star service and friendliness! Enjoyed our visits with Melanie and Pamela very much ♥️♥️

I cannot rave about the staff enough. SOOOOOO HELPFUL & FRIENDLY. We rented one of the 2-bedroom apartments. It had lots of amenities for cooking. The apartment and bedrooms are quite roomy. The shower amazingly hot. I loved the private, secured parking with your own gate remote. There is a platform balcony for everyone to share with comfy furniture and fairly decent view of Arenal Lake and the sunset at night. The breakfast is also AMAZING - you get your choice of several different hot or cold meals to choose from (pancakes, huevos rancheros, granola with fruit, omelet etc.) along with 4 or so beverage options plus fruit and a glass of juice. You can even have them bring breakfast to your room instead of eating in the dining room which we loved. Highly recommend this hotel. It was also a 5-minute drive to the center of Santa Elena - and about 15-20 minutes to all of the cloud forest reserves/hanging bridge parks. Also, very close to restaurants and amenities - maybe not walking distance per se - but easily accessible by car/taxi.

Hele fijne en mooie kamer. De omgeving is erg rustig. Iedereen was erg vriendelijk en deed zijn best voor je.

Great Location, just a little bit out of town. New Lodge, very clean and well organized. Just a few rooms. Staff was great, food was great. No complaints and a lot better that some of the other accommodation in Monteverde we saw

L’accueil / le personnel

Das Personal ist super nett und hilfsbereit und spricht perfektes Englisch. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und es sind wirklich große Portionen. Wir konnten sogar ohne Problem etwas ändern. Außerdem wurde uns ein Bus Shuttle zu einer Night Tour organisiert was uns sehr gut gefallen hat.

Das Zimmer war sehr sehr klein und es gab keine Haken um Handtücher etc. aufzuhängen. Leider hat es in dem Zimmer super feucht gerochen, sowohl die Bettwäsche als auch der Raum an sich. Es gibt zwar einen entlüfter der die Feuchtigkeit entzieht aber dieser ist leider sehr laut. Das Zimmer ist außerdem sehr dunkel. Auf der Bettdecke haben wir ein paar Haare und Flecken entdeckt was nicht so ansprechen war. Nur zum schlafen reicht das Zimmer allerdings :)

hotel was functional, clean. staff were friendly and gracious. Breakfast was good. parking space was good. I was disappointed that we did not get a room on top with easy access to the deck.

Bathroom was small, bit cramped. Main room did not have any windows felt a bit claustrophobic.

We had a spacious apartment, fully equipped kitchen and sitting area. Unfortunately we were not there long enough to take advantage of this!

No on site restaurant or nearby establishment to purchase refreshments!

Calathea is a very nice B&B and we enjoyed our two night stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast was filling. It is in a safe location with private parking and only a few minutes by car to shops and restaurants. The service was very friendly and helpful.

The internet was spotty at times, but it did not impact our stay.

A little fat from the centre of Monteverde

Beautiful and comfortable room. The elevated deck patio was a plus. The hostess Melissa was an amazing help♥️ with touring and was just genuinely a pleasure.

Need a car to get around. Nothing really in walking distance. But I think that would be most accommodations in the Monteverde area as they are buried in hillsides.

Calathea was a last minute reservation for us. Literally 20 minutes before the staff left at night because our airbnb we rented was not going to be suitable for us to sleep in. Calathea was cheaper and way better than the airbnb that we should have gone with them first.

we had a car which made the property a great base for visiting nearby sights. if you don’t have a car it would be more difficult.

Breakfast was good. The server was very friendly and efficient. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Quiet location outside of town. Comfortable and clean rooms. Enclosed parking area.

The roads were rough, so it would have been nice to be in town so we could walk to restaurants.
