Just steps from the best stretch of beach in OOB. A ten minute walk to the pier and Palace Playland. We grilled most nights and enjoyed dinner on our private patio watching the spectacular sunsets. The owners are right next door and that was very helpful not to mention how friendly they are. There was six of us so the one bathroom was tricky. We managed, so not a real biggie. Not having a washer and dryer was inconvenient but by all means not a deal breaker. We would definitely recommend this rental and we can't wait to come back.

We've been coming to Maine every summer for about 8 years but there was something special about this summer's visit! You just can't beat being literal steps away from the ocean!! Worth every dollar! Those rentals of my past that said "a short walk to the beach" must not have ever experienced how exhausting it is to haul all the beach supplies, with multiple kids in tow, only to get to the beach to realize that you forgot something or someone has to go to the bathroom! But not at this rental... I could just send my kids (youngest just turned 9) to the house to get what they needed or go to the bathroom by themselves while I laid on the beautiful and spacious beach relaxing and actually enjoying a vacation!!! It was pure bliss. Not to mention the owner is amazingly helpful and sweet! The house is quaint but has everything you'll need for a rejuvenating getaway. We've never stayed in the same place twice, but we hope to come back here again next summer!

Location was amazing. Quiet, almost private beach steps from the door. You can play at the beach all day & BBQ/cook dinner with everything available for your needs. You can walk to the pier after dinner to go on the rides or get dessert. Owner was friendly & helpful. Will definitely be back.

With breathtaking views of the ocean, this cottage has everything for an incredible family vacation. The cottage is thoughtfully "ocean themed" designed to make one relax upon entry. With a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom, you'll have everything you need to prepare scrumptious meals while only steps from the ocean. One of our favorite features of the cottage is the large outside deck area to enjoy the sounds of the waves while visiting with family. Even though you are enjoying the ocean life, there were native birds signing in the morning while morarch butterflies passed by. Highly recommend this property!!!

We treated our family to what turned out to be our best family getaway ever. Firstly, the location of the property is ideal. You arrive to a private parking lot with space enough for you to park 4 cqrs. Steps away a private sand beach path opens up to the most beautiful section of OOB. You are away from the crowds, but can easily walk down the beach to the pier area. No worries about finding parking or having to cross the street to get to the beach. Our grandchildren, ages 3 & 5, thought this was the best place to play and we had no worries about their safety. They were even treated to gifts of beach toys by the owner. She was wonderful. She was so personable, acommadating, easy to contact, and she made sure everything was just right and ready for us. The house was immaculate with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful new flooring, and well supplied kitchen needs. Outside was a large patio table and chairs complete with a barbecue grill. This was a gem of a rental. We have never rented a house before or used Verbo. Must have been beginner's luck. We are looking no further and plan to bring the family back again next summer!

The location for this property is perfect for those with kids, it’s far enough away from the crowds but close enough to walk everywhere! The beach is also steps away which makes extra convenient as well. The owner is extremely welcoming and always there to assist if needed! We are hoping to come back next year!

Lena was great, so personable and helpful.My husband, son and I were able to just leave the car parked at the cottage and walk down a private path daily to the beach.Family members came to visit us and Lena gave them a free parking pass. There is parking for 4 cars.The cottage is close enough to walk to the festivities at OOB.There is also a shuttle bus that stops nearby and just $1.00 for seniors.The fireworks on Thusday night was spectacular.We were lucky enough to grab seats on the pier and had an awesome view.The main air conditioner in the cottage was on the first floor but it was always comfortable throughout the cottage.We had everything we needed and did not mind bringing our own linens for our family and would rather it be that way..There were movies that Lena left for us to watch but the weather was so good we did not get a chance to watch them.We went to the OOB museum and also drove to Portland and enjoyed the Cryptozoology museaum.We would highly recommend the area and this cottage.

Have been renting in OOB with the same group of friends for the last four years and this is hands down the best house we have stayed in! Exactly as pictured and the owners were so friendly and available for anything we needed. The location was amazing…steps to the beach which was so quiet, not crowded, and very relaxing! Patio space was great we had dinner there every night! About a 10-15 minute walk to the pier. We had a great trip and can’t wait to come back!

Would definitely rent this house again . Thinking about it already for next year and a longer period of time.

This cottage is in the perfect location, just far enough from the crowd, but not too far of a walk to downtown. The cottage is clean and cozy, it worked well for 8 of us, even with one bathroom we didn't have any issues. The view of the ocean from the balcony and the sitting area on the patio were my favorite places to be along with having dinners on the patio, it was perfect! We had the best location on the beach, very private not having others on top of you, we had plenty of room for our group and we bring a lot with us! A quick 2 minute walk and you were on the beautiful soft sand! The owner was next door, available if needed, she was very helpful and so friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

We happened upon this property by chance, but serendipity was truly serendipitous for us. The cottage was clean, honestly the cleanest I ever rented in my 30 years of renting. From almost every room you can here the ocean, which is just 39 steps away, yes we counted. Wherever we stay (my family) we always find our spot the hub of our vacation ( obviously other than the beach), well at Serendipity it’s the patio area outside the cottage 😊. With it’s inviting furniture that provides comfort and convenience it’s a great place to unwind and relax and that would be enough but that’s not the best part from this spot you can see, hear and experience the beach without the sand. I had a few morning and afternoon snoozes there, it was so quiet and relaxing. The hosts of the property are awesome wonderful folks, they thought of everything if you need it, it’s there, if you forgot it, just ask they have extra you couldn’t find better more enjoyable people to rent from. For those who don’t know, on this end of the beach the sand is like powder, the surf is pretty clam and it’s not crowded because there’s no public parking or bathrooms. I highly recommend

My family , 4 adults and 2 sons , stayed in this house for our vacation week and it was absolutely perfect.Upon arrival, the owner was there and walked us through the house , explaining where everything was located and even had a book she made of the local restaurants and vacation spots to visit. We could never have asked for a better location. It’s on a private lot at the end of a dead-end street, steps to the beach. There are no hotels on the street and only a few houses. Very residential area and super quiet at night it was amazing. We’ve stayed at many places in Old Orchard Beach in years past, but never had the peace and quiet we experienced at this cottage. It was exactly as described plus more. The owners were extremely friendly and gracious during our week stay and provided everything in the house you could ever dream of. There was also board games for the kids to play. Also the grilling set-up outside and the outdoor furniture in front of the house was our little piece of heaven. The weather was beautiful so we ate outside most of the time and didn’t want to go home at the end of the week. What was great is the beach in front of the house was never crowded during the whole time we were staying there. Yet when I looked towards the pier the beach there was packed !! Lucky us !! The house itself was lovely inside. The pillow top beds were really comfy and there was 3 flatscreen TVs which meant no fighting at night over TV shows.Very short walking distance to all the shops and rides downtown. Had some great wraps at a sub store only a block away . We cannot say enough positive things about the house, location, beachfront and the owners.Highly recommend this cottage for a truly relaxing vacation! We will definitely be back!Tina D .

We had such an amazing time in Old Orchard Beach! This property was super clean and well maintained. The owner did such a good job with this house...we had a group of 8 and we all fit comfortably in it. The view of the ocean is beautiful and being able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy my morning coffee watching the waves crash was awesome! The house was close enough to the pier to enjoy the fun activities, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. The owner was so helpful, kind, and available if needed. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy this amazing beach and looking for a great place to stay.

We had a wonderful week there! The home owner was great, very helpful and even gave us toys for our one year to play with. The house was well stocked, clean and very close to the beach which was also beautiful, just far enough away from the chaos of the center. We will definitely stay here again.

Our family's idea of a beach vacation is a house in good condition and a walk out onto the beach. The listing seemed to good to be true, but we took the risk and we're grateful we did. We already booked for next season. This is the quintessential OOB house - a tiny footprint, with an endless seashore. We go on vacation to sit on the beach and tour the area - this home met our needs. We had 6 adults and an infant. With everyone inside at the same time, quarters are tight - but that's OK with us because if we're all inside a lot of the time, "we're doing vacation wrong."The owner stays next door and is very helpful and receptive to any requests. It's a "residential" area, so you're not surrounded by large party homes. It's about a 10 minute walk into the downtown shops area, and there's a nice patio table setup outside. Everything you could need is stocked inside the unit, and you are feet from the path onto OOB. We booked the neighboring unit for next season to have a little more space with a growing child, and our extended family has booked this unit for the same week. The combination of the unit, reserved parking and proximity to the beach is a rare find in the OOB market. You won't be disappointed with this unit, unless you're looking for a mansion on beach - in which case, OOB probably isn't for you!

It was great access to the beach. The outdoor seating was excellent. Overall it was a great week!

This home is exactly as advertised, and then some. Those pictures, where you see the beach from the door? That's *exactly* how it is. Once you walk out the door, you are seconds away from your feet hitting the sand, and the sand really is powdery and soft. At low tide, the water pulls back a couple of hundred feet, so there's a ton of room to setup shop and play. For all that, the beach area in front of the cottage is practically empty (and we were there mid-August), so you feel like you have the place to yourself. You can look south toward town, and maybe a hundred yards away the beach is packed, but no one makes the trip past the main hotels. There's very little seaweed in the water, so it's a pleasurable swim even for the finicky. You're outside of the main downtown (pier) area, so it's very quiet. But it's only a 10-15 minute stroll to get to the pier and the shopping, when you want to go out to eat, to Palace Playland, etc. It's only a 5 minute walk in either direction on the main road to get to a convenience store for necessities, snacks, or a quick sub or pizza if you need it. If you want to hop in the car, there are plenty of dining options in the area (esp. if you're a fan of traditional Maine lobster shacks), and it's only a half hour drive to Portland. The cottage is cozy, clean, updated and well furnished. The beds are comfortable, and you have several room options. The kitchen was well stocked, even with some of those less common utensils and cookware. You can make a beeline from the door through the kitchen to the bathroom to jump in the shower after coming back from the beach, to wash off some of the more persistent sand. Beach chairs, boogie boards, even some shovels and buckets are in the storage area under the deck; and we grilled out on the brand new grill more than a couple of times. The owners are amazing! They spend the summer in the house next door, so we were greeted upon arrival. They had a little gift basket ready, and Lena dropped by every other day with another little gift for our 2-1/2 year old daughter. We didn't have a high chair for our 10 month old son, and the owners pulled one up from their basement as soon as we mentioned it. They were super friendly and easy to talk to. When we were leaving, they asked some questions about anything we found missing or lacking in quality, so it was obvious that they are very interested in finding out about anything they may have overlooked so they can rectify it ASAP.

What a perfect home for a beach vacation! You really don't need to bring anything besides your linens and towels. The patio space in front of the cottage is a bonus and we spent a lot of time there barbecuing and enjoying our meals. Especially at night, it was so peaceful and quiet, we sat out and talked for hours with the family. We rented paddle boards from a local surf shop two blocks away. It was close enough to the downtown area to walk but far enough away so that when we returned, you heard no noise at all. It was really the most relaxing vacation we've had in the Old Orchard Beach area in a long time! It is on a private dead end street so it was great for the kids. They ran up from the beach constantly with no worries of cars. It was very quiet at night and extremely comfortable for sleeping as the beds had super pillow top mattresses. Equally important to us, the owner was very obliging and a real pleasure to deal with. It was an incredibly beautiful spot that I didn't even know existed in OOB. We spent our vacation at this perfect beach cottage in July 2015. The cottage was very clean and had everything we could have asked for. Was even nicer in person. It is was the ideal beach getaway. We have rented in OOB the last 6 years. We were so impressed with this cottage and its location. All positives! No crowds. Dead end street. This is a very quiet part of OOB with an awesome beach, soft, white sand and clean blue ocean. No red seaweed. Our vacation week was so relaxing. Comfortable outside furniture and BBQ. Bonus was parking for 4 cars. We will definitely come back. Look no further. You will not be disappointed.

This was a wonderful place to spend a week on the beach. The location is perfect - on the best part of the Old Orchard Beach coastline - close enough to get to the touristy amusements when you want but otherwise far enough away that there are no crowds, noise at night, etc. This was a very peaceful, fun and enjoyable stay. The cottage is well equipped and spacious enough for our 3 adults and 2 children. The owners made great efforts to provide anything needed including some beach toys. Above-and-beyond hospitality. We'll be back any time we're in Old Orchard Beach.

This cottage was the perfect vacation spot! We stayed here as a family of 5 for a week in July 2014! The place is very cozy and we absolutely adored the decorations that made the cottage feel like a home away from home. The cottage was extremely clean and inviting. It came with everything we could have needed for our week's stay. It was really comfy and relaxing. It had two flat screen televisions! The kitchen was well equipped and we even found a salad spinner for our fresh lettuce that we bought at the farmer's market in Portland. In the front patio area of the cottage there was a barbecue grill and lawn furniture. We used this area a lot because we had the most incredible weather and it was very peaceful. We had most of our meals there. The cottage is located seconds to the beach and on a dead end road, which made it perfect for my young family, with two children under give years old. It was really safe and tranquil. There was also a fence around the entire property, providing privacy. We brought our bikes and drive to the center to the center of town, which took about five minutes. It was nice to get back to the cottage as it was really noisy downtown. This spot was paradise! We would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting a peaceful and cozy house to kick back in. It was a great time for both kids as adults! Best beach area ever to vacation!! We highly recommend it!!
