Beds are comfortable and breakfast is nice.

We were a bit unlucky with the rooms and had to switch a few times. Rooms were not too clean and we expected more from this hotel, if we're honest.

El Hotel esta bien ubicado y ademas pegado a la playa. la habitación estaba limpia y el personal en general muy simpático. La jefa de barra en la piscina fue la única que en los tres dias que estuve, siempre estuvo de mal rollo y incluso de actitud desagradable el resto del personal encantadores.

Stayed last year and wanted to return. This hotel is in the best part of Chaweng beach. Staff work very hard to keep hotel clean and they are very helpful

The good: La Vida is located on the best part of Chaweng beach, away from the noise and party crowd. The sand on this side of the beach is also better and the beach staff of La Vida keeps their part of the beach clean. As this is the quiet part of Chaweng beach, you will also not have to deal with too many people walking by on the beach as it still is a public beach. The resort is also not that big meaning it is never crowded and you can easily navigate around the rooms should you have booked more than one room. Breakfast is just OK. We were lucky that we stayed here in a week where there was a very lovely crowd of guests and everyone was really friendly making it feel like a small family. We all had our designated spots by the pool or beach and you would be with the same people everyday which was very comfortable. This changed on our last day when a big group arrived and kind of disturbed the peace. There is a Nespresso machine in the room which is something we didn't see in actual 5 star hotels in Thailand.

The bad: La Vida is not a 4 star hotel, it is in reality a 2 star bungalow park that is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms were dirty and one of the two rooms we booked smelled damp throughout our stay. The excessive limescale makes the rain shower unusable as it is clogged. There was some mould between the bathroom tiles as well. Bedding was stained and upon request changed with ''new'' bedding that was also stained. The towels in the room and for the beach needed replacing ages ago. The mattress was actually comfortable as were the pillows but they smelled a bit meaning they need replacing. The staff is not friendly and they all seem miserable which can be said for all of the Thai on Samui. The elder lady at the front desk is fake friendly and doesn't seem to enjoy her job. Only the younger girl at reception made a clear effort and the two young boys working the pool bar. Beach service was lacking unless one of the younger boys was on duty. The girl operating the pool bar was so slow and unintelligent that even a simple order of two fries became a nightmare, resulting in us never ordering anything again. One of the rooms we booked had a big gap between the door and its frame making it an easy access point for bugs. Luckily this did not happen but be aware that it could. The ocean of chaweng beach is very polluted and personally I find it unsafe for swimming. We had tar on our foots one day leaving the ocean and it took a while before we were able to get it off our feet. There are all sorts of things washing ashore in the morning on chaweng beach and this is because the clientele that visits Samui is lower class, doesn't care and makes everything dirty. Samui in general is a very rundown and ugly island with dirt everywhere and it stinks. Lamai and Chaweng in particular are extremely dirty with Lamai being a real shock for us with an overwhelmingly bad smell and mountains of bin bags. Samui? Never again for us!

The beach is nice. Breakfast was ok.

Staff wasn´t very competent and were not that friendly. The rooms AREN´T SAFE all. We were woken up in the middle of the night , because a staff member did the check in for someone (at 3am) thinking our room was free. Because the rooms don´t have proper locks (we locked the room however they can unlock it from the other side with the card), a man came into our room. The reception lady was right behind him and we started screaming out of fear because we thought someone was breaking in. However, the man just stood there and laughed, the reception lady was too slow telling him not to enter and they took a long time leaving our room. After they left, no one came to check on us or apologized for the situation. We went to the reception and the lady just said she was sorry and there was a confusion in the system. This was the WORST thing I have experienced ever in a hotel. We couldn´t go back to sleep because after that we didn´t feel safe anymore. Please have proper locks in your rooms!!

Excellent petit déjeuner et très varié. L’hôtel était sur la belle plage de Chaweng .Pres de tout et super tranquille. Transat pour tous à la plage et au bord de la piscine . Très propre . Fournissait une boîte déjeuner lors de notre départ très tôt . L’hôtel a une navette pour l’aéroport avec léger supplément.

perfect location, we arrived late and there was 12 of us to check in so the poor fella had his hands full but he did well. staff were all amazing, room lovely and big, very clean with great natural lighting. Our room was facing the pool along with beach views it was perfect for family members who wanted to hang at the pool while their little ones rested in our room. Beach massages are amazing, make sure you check out Seed beach club worth the money for the day.

Nothing to not like about the place the only tip would be to have two people check in such a big crowd.

If i knew it will be like thus and look like that i would order it more easily and with no concerns. Very good property. On the beach in a 3 min walk many good restaurants

A bit of a walk to center like 7 minutes but roads are kinda broken and we had a baby in a stroller was hard. Food and bevreges at hotel extremky expensive. Lack of vibe of thailand and hotel in generall It seemes like tgeres is just no staff and its kinda weird.

breakfast was by far the showstopper, egg station with perfectly cooked eggs of any choice, fresh fruit, a lot of different options. friendly staff, so caring and conscientious, always working hard to give everyone the perfect experience. we stayed in the sea view suite which gave spectacular views, always clean, plenty of room, the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in. air conditioning worked perfectly, brilliant location close to shops and restaurants, loungers were always available. being able to paddle board whenever we wanted offered a great activity. cannot fault this hotel.

One of the best places I have ever stayed! Super cool hotel. During this trip we stayed in Hilton and Katathani beach hotel in Phuket. All of them were nice, but La Vida is the best. Very cozy, comfortable, clean and beautiful place. The room, the bed, the bathroom, the balcony… everything was nice. Breakfast was delicious! With fresh juices, latte coffee, salmon, hamon, great variety of fruits, etc. The only one thing they can improve. The beach next to the hotel is very clean, but one step further you will see plastic and other rubbish next to the another hotel which is closed. It will be 100% perfect place if you manage to clean it too, because it’s very close to the hotel… The rest is great. Look forward to coming back!
