Room size and noise was decent (was initially concerned bar downstairs would be too loud but barely hear anything and only opened at 12 on a Sunday too so no early noise either). Shower was excellent. Generally decent.

Only thing was I'm a super hot sleeper and Aircon took ages to bring room down to 18 degrees. Would leave it on for at least an hour before bed in future.

Convenient location just around the corner of town centre. Clean towels and bedsheets.

Big mirrors hanged on the walls all around the bed. We had to cover all of them with towels and stuff. Dark blue wall painting made the room very dark. Many mosquitoes and flies. Located above a pub and was noisy when we opened the door or in the corridor. Staircase was old and wall paintings chipped. Elevator had a weird noise when moving so we dare not getting in.

Everything. Comfortable big bed, clean, nice design of the room, variety of coffee and teas in the room; comfortable bathroom with modern shower. Very quiet in the room during the night.

Beautifully decorated. Loved the fact we had a coffee machine in the room. Lovely touch. Shower had great pressure.

The staff at the bar where we checked in were incredibly rude and started off our stay with a bad vibe which was so annoying. There was a kettle base in our room but no kettle. The noise from the streets was SO loud and the building itself made strange noises - maybe the noises pipes or heating or aircon not sure, but didn’t make for a great nights sleep.

The rooms are amazing. The staff are incredibly helpful, polite and kind.

Location is perfect, room tastefully furnished. Bar staff were exceptionally helpful.

Location and cleanliness

Roof top bar was closed for a function which was slightly disappointing. Reading was Not the easiest place to find parking but the hotel was lovely

There was nowhere to hang others not even a rack

Wide bathroom and nicely located room.

The bathroom shower didn’t have a proper door and I wet the whole floor and stressed out about drying it.

Location rooms and bar

The bathrooms are increasingly becoming poor and the property is still relatively new. The plugs are missing from the sink. Water leaves the shower and floods the room. The sinks are tiny and awkward to use. The soap holders are broken.

I loved the room itself, the amenities and the toiletries were so so nice! The whole process was seamless and the room was clean

I would have liked a window that opened. At times the area around the hotel felt a little unsafe but that’s not fault of the hotel.

The quirkiness of the hotel

The lift wasn't working, but they let us use the staff lift out back so not too bad.

The room was very stylish and comfortable. It had interesting art and "little touches."

This is an unusual place in that it is is above a bar/restaurant that seems to be the primary focus of the building. When you check in, it is with a bartender who was friendly enough; however, we were given almost no information about the hotel and no offer to help with our bags (the elevator was broken). There was no reception and no one to answer any of our questions. The room was delightful but the set-up/service was less than ideal. Not really my cup if tea.

bathroom. sink too small for washing and shaving. a problem in every room. plug doesn’t work in room 11. lift out of order. shower always overflows onto bathroom’s floor in every room.

Hotel was in a great location, near the train station, close to restaurants and the old Reading Abby ruins.

The elevator was temporarily out of order, but staff offered to carry our luggage upstairs. There was also a problem with flies in our room, possibly coming through the A/C vent.
