Nothing
Bathroom no towel rails no toilet paper holder nowhere to put toiletry’s. Stains on towels and bedding dirty walls on stairs and passages. Locals told us it was a halfway house? It was like a dos house I cannot believe Booking.com use this type of hotel we paid for four nights and left after two saw one member of staff once in two days.

The communication and hospitality were consistent during my stay. The owner took his time to see that I had a good check-in experience as part of his follow-up routine.
I wish they could provide a cooked breakfast.

Staff were awesome, place was nice and clean. Location was brilliant. Can’t fault anything. Enjoyed the stay.
Nothing to dislike

The beds we’re comfortable.
Being a couple we assumed we would get a double bed in our room. Instead we got put into 2 single beds in the room and the staff member didn’t offer us a double despite the fact that we looked like an obvious couple. We arrived after 3pm, an hour after the check-in time. We assumed our room would be ready as a double as that’s what we had booked online.
On booking.com they’ve released pictures of the hotel back when it was ran “by owners who ran it better”. We heard this from locals whilst having dinner in town. The pictures are completely misleading. So in short, we were conned by looking at the hotel when it looked and was ran better. Now it is like a hostel, not a hotel.
In comparison to the Elephant & Castle, our friends stayed there for £100 that night. With a restaurant, breakfast included in the price, a bar, clean and appropriate rooms with better management. We payed £85 for this particular hotel for no bar, breakfast, restaurant nor high-standard management. We would rather pay an extra £20 to get all the facilities in the other hotel. We didn’t want the Ritz but we didn’t expect to be in such a dive!
The coffee/tea cups had stains from the last customers that had used them - they had not been washed! Nor had the glasses.
The toilet didn’t work properly.
There was no coffee nor milk for the following morning.
We didn’t even want to use the shower.

Nothing only location
Smell of damp and mold, corridors with doors everywhere like a rabbit Warren, hate to think how people would get out in a hurry if there was a fire !! Pub it's attached to is now closed, we looked through the window and there was HUNDREDS of bluebottles !!!! Room smelt of damp even though window was open and blue bottles buzzing around. Didn't even stay, put key back in safety box with a letter explaining why we weren't staying !! Wish I had read the reviews!!

Good location. Basic hotel. Ideal if you just want bed for the night.
Would have been nice to have bed and breakfast, however, it's only a short walk into town.

We stayed here while attending a wedding, The rooms were clean, nicely furnished, bed was very comfy and the staff were friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Bathroom and hallways were a bit dated but it was very clean.

Comfy bed and well padded pillows. These seem to be hard to come by for some reason.
Easily commutable to town centre area and close to external amenities.
Small sized room but was adequate for myself.
Plumbing. Could hear a lot of air locks in the water line.
Toilet was a nightmare to flush. Between 7-10 furious depressions of the handle needed to make it flush...he final one resulted in a loud clunk from the cistern.
Lower stairway needs a thorough clean; unpleasant smell lurks.

only like was the location
shabby outside of the building. Carpets in all areas bar the room were dirty and threadbare in places. no reception person, people able to come in and out of the hotel without checking if staying there.

Location
The room hadn't been fully cleaned. Bin was full, half opened bottle of water in room, previous guests wet towel on bathroom floor and smelt dirty.
Couldn't even use the fridge as a pubic hair in it, disgusting.
Requested a full refund for the 1 night but still waiting to hear back.

The bed was comfortable
It was filthy. Had to ring to check in and out. Okay not an issue but was given the code to the keys. Thankfully someone showed me to my room and he was friendly. The towels were dirty. The floor had dead flies. The walls were filthy. Someone came into my room when I went out in the evening. Yes, I was told the manager would come up to introduce themselves but I went out. Came in to see that they had left the tv romote that wasn't there before with the TV on. A simple knock and leave is what to do. And as a solo female traveler, it wasn't good. I soon thought that maybe he didn't switch the tv on because it kept switching on throughout the night. Although the bed was comfortable, I did see a hair that was not mine in the bed. The hotel needs a shake up.
