First time visiting Jim Thorpe and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Felt like home the minute we walked in! It deserves a five star rating because of the care you can see in the house. Clean, organized and quality products. Bathroom had plenty of new towels and extras like shampoo, lotion etc. Extra pillow and blankets. We didn't cook but the cupboards are filled with everything needed. They even had phone chargers for use! I will definitely be renting here again for our next visit.

Stayed with five people for the weekend. House was very nice and clean. Everything was perfect with plenty of space to spread out.

This was a surprise bday trip for my husband. I wanted something near the downtown area of Jim Thorpe because I knew parking could be terrible there. This house was great. I'm so glad I chose to pick a place in walking distance because otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to find parking (it has gotten way busier than the last time I was there). We used the trail at the back of the house to walk to the Mt Pisgah trail. It was very convenient. We also hiked some other trails in the area. It is about a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. The walk back from dinner can be tiring especially after hiking all day. The house was great overall. Nice and clean. Bed was comfortable though I did switch out our pillows for the ones in the closet. We did have trouble with the side door lock but that was probably user error and we didn't ask the host to try and figure it out. I would stay here again if we came back to the area. Oh if you don't want to walk to restaurants, I highly suggest the Union Publick House. It was our favorite place to eat in Jim Thorpe and it's just a short drive.

This place was so clean and in a great spot. I definitely recommend and hope to be back.

Great place. Pics dont do it justice. Jill is very communicative for any questions. Everything was perfectly clean. Kitchen well stocked for us to cook thanksgiving dinner. 15min walk to town. Loved it.

This house was adorable. The beds are comfy and the house was stocked with everything we needed! I highly recommend. We walked the hill both Saturday and Sunday it was a hike but not too bad.

Great house with lots of space. We hung out in the back yard - kitchen and tv room. Close to town - and hiking trail is right out the back door.

House was clean, had everything we could need and was close to town. Owner was very responsive.

Our hosts took great care in preparing the house for our weekend-it was clean and convenient to everything we wanted to do. Shop, dine, hike and cycle. More than enough space for 8 adults for the weekend.

This house is a great find for a wonderful Jim Thorpe vacation! It has everything you need to enjoy your visit. Very clean and everything was in exceptional order. The décor makes you feel at home and welcome. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip into town.

My family and I were in Jim Thorpe for a wedding. The location of this house along with all the amenities it provided were above and beyond what we could have anticipated. Would definitely stay here again given the opportunity!

This house is so nice! It was a very comfortable stay and the decor is a vibe . I’m glad to have found this place and we would definitely return. The third floor was a perfect hangout for the kids (the toy/game chest has a sharp metal edge FYI). The walk to town was a little too far for my kids, so we had to drive. We had an amazing time exploring Jim Thorpe! Thank you!

This house in Jim Thorpe is amazing! So clean, well stocked and stylish with many stylish and functional extra touches ( box fan and bug spray)! The location and parking were perfect. It was a great location and the home had a lot of character. We really enjoyed it.

This cute place was the perfect spot for our family. Hiking trail out back and just a quick stroll to town. The place is fully equipped for all your families’ needs and the cute little touches give you a historical taste of the town’s history.

Our stay at the Switchback House was perfect! Accommodations for 8 adults was very comfortable. The bedrooms & living area are roomy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Off street parking in the driveway was key as was the Stablin Museum & Arielle's Cafe (a must see & drink/dine) just down the street. We walked the switchback trail to Mauch Chunk reservoir which was about 6 miles rt. A beautiful flat trail through Mountain Laurel & Hemlock groves, then along the creek to the lake. Beautiful cascades of rushing water were along most of the hike. We walked in town both days as well. Such a beautiful town with the trees lining Broadway glowing white from the Christmas lights and so many folks decorate their homes/porches along the way. Santa is in quite a few windows watching down on the passersby. A concert Saturday night at Penns Peak was the reason we booked our stay, but Switchback House's location allowed full access to the town. It was a great time and we'd stay again & again.

The Switchback house was very clean and comfortable. It was the perfect size for our group of 6. We walked into town to shop and eat. It was conveniently located to our favorite winery. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Jim Thorpe.

Although the bike ride was miserable, cold & rainy, the house was a bright spot of the weekend.! Photos do NOT do it justice. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, & so cozy & inviting. It is equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The location is good for access to town & local attractions with convenient parking. The owner was very responsive with communication. I highly recommend this property & hope to stay again sometime.

What a wonderful place to stay! This house was simply amazing. We felt like we had a suite in a hotel. The memorabilia that decorated the house was exciting and informative. Onsite parking was also a huge plus, especially during Fall Foliage. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to Jill for making this experience stress free!

We enjoyed our stay at Jim Thorpe! The house was super clean and adorable! It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Great location for hiking and enjoying the downtown area. Distance to town was about a mile and we found a great path that led to downtown without going down Broadway street. We enjoyed the path over the street since the street was very narrow at times. Would definitely stay there again.

We are used to staying at the Inn and paying a lot of $$ per night. That money is only towards a little room. We stayed cheaper than that and got accommodations for the whole family. The house came prepared with essentials, which was nice to not have to pack them. It was a short walk to town, but we decided to drive instead. We will be returning! Thank you!

Was a great week. Hiked the switch back, spent a lot of time on the Beach and fishing at Mauch Chunk Lake. Many ventures in to town, which was a short walk. Great time!! Place was great, had everything we needed.

We were all impressed with the cleanliness of the property. It is updated. Beds were comfortable. Very nice property. We would stay there again!

Great weekend at the switchback, everything is up to date and modern. Very comy. We just loved the town too. We will plan on being back in the spring or summer.
